We have stayed here several times and this place is absolutely wonderful. It it beautiful and so relaxing. The main house is an old historic house where the second floor (and part of the third floor) have been converted to hotel style bedrooms, so we had the privacy of our own bathroom. We love walking down to the river and loved watching the view of the sunset from the hill. The hot breakfast is amazing. It is a wonderful, wonderful place to get away and just relax. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing to unwind. read more

This stay was the biggest blessing to me. The buttercup cottage was in exceptional shape and I arrived just in time to sit in a rocking chair on the porch as a thunderstorm and rain rolled in. The flowering shrubs in front of the cottage are a magnet for butterflies (I mean like...60 at a time), and I enjoyed watching them dance each morning while I sat on the porch. Being able to walk the property, sit by the dam and listen to water, swing under a shade tree, swim laps in the pool made for a sweet time of rest and refreshing. Oh my gosh! I was blown away with this place. It is SO lovely and welcoming and professional with surprises you don't expect like wi-fi and evening refreshments. The grounds are gorgeous with something like 33 acres right on the Guadalupe. There are actually 2 guest houses, so it's very flexible. We had a staff retreat there and it was perfect. The third floor of the main house has a full kitchen and common area, so if you wanted to do your own lunch and/or dinner you could. You would NOT want to do your own breakfast, as theirs is hard to beat! The homemade granola - yum! Can't wait to go back to this amazing slice of heaven on earth. :) read more

My favorite place I've stayed in TX. Kind, compassionate staff mixed with gorgeous Guadalupe River views, spacious rooms, and wrap around porch really impressed me. Their motto "Rediscover Comfort" lives up to the name. We stayed in room 3, but all the rooms are nearly the same layout so I think any room would be fine as long as the bed count is what you need. This place is geared to refresh guests in a way they might not achieve rest elsewhere so if your idea of getting away involves watching tv all day this might not be for you-there are no TVs in the room! Now we did want to watch a movie so we brought our laptop and watched it from there. We found the outdoor activities both on the property and nearby enough to keep us busy otherwise. I never thought of Comfort as a destination worth visiting, but a few days were quite nice and filled with rest and excitement. Come check out Haven River Inn for a night or two! read more

This is our third time staying at The Haven River Inn and it wont be our last! We love coming here to get away to the beautiful scenery tucked away in a quaintly cozy mansion. So peaceful and quiet but not to far away from some popular sites in this part of Texas including Boerne, Fredericksburg, and San Antonio. The staff are incredibly pleasant and when COVID passes away, you can try there breakfast which we have loved in the past! Don't think this is just a quick getaway, this also has a beautiful place to have quick retreats or events! read more

My family rented out this whole place twice when I was a teenager for family reunions. The Inn is a quaint little spot in the middle of the country overlooking a river. If you enjoy fishing, you can fish right in front of the inn at this cute little damn down below the lawn. We also had a bit of an adventure and found our way upstream and went tubing back to the inn for a few miles. The house itself is beautiful inside and out, and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was excellent. The house has a huge wrap-around porch around the outside. My family would sit out there for hours and hours and watch the sunset. If you're quiet you can watch deer come onto the property in the early morning hours. Worth noting that I believe the place is haunted. It's not scary or anything, but I have a sibling that's a bit "sensitve" and this is one of the first memories I have of her having an encounter with a ghost, a man with a beard. read more

This place was recommended to us by friends, and it doesn't disappoint. The room is incredibly comfortable, the scenery and tranquility is fantastic, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you choose to stay anywhere in Comfort, this should be the place. Be aware that this place is booked most of the time, so think ahead when reserving a room. 25 minutes or less in any direction are other great towns to explore, including Fredericksburg. read more

The grounds of this place are gorgeous there is no denying that. For a short stay with minimal interaction with management it's perfect. However if you are planning an event and have to sign a contract be cautious. Although the grounds are associated with a Christian organization the manager William does not treat you as though he believes in love and kidneys. I hosted my wedding here and had multiple things that were verbally ok'd but when it came down to execution I was told it wasn't. In the contract. I signed my contract prior to a huge price increase. Because of this they tried everything to get more and more money out of me. Guests at my wedding were smoking behind the kitchen with the STAFF yet haven still confiscated our deposit and offered no laments when we raised reasonable concerns and in fact seemed to only point the finger more and more at what we did wrong. If you are willing to hardball someone constant,y and even deal with contract negotiations the week of your event book with Haven. read more
