As someone who grew up in North Greece, this place has been part of my life for nearly 30 years. My…read moremom and dad brought me here growing up, and every time I come back to Rochester from California to visit my mom, it's one of the first restaurants on my list. When I heard Forest Hill had changed ownership and was now simply called The Hill, I'll admit I was worried. So many great restaurants lose what made them special after a change like that. I'm happy to say those worries were completely unfounded. The Hill is still everything I've loved for decades. In fact, I can confidently say they still have the best Chicken French in Rochester. This week I've made it my mission to revisit some of Rochester's well-known Chicken French spots while I'm in town. I've eaten at Brook House, Mr. Dominic's, and Pino's Deli, and while they were all good, nothing came close to The Hill. The Chicken French here is simply outstanding--perfectly cooked, consistently delicious, and exactly the flavor I've been coming back for all these years. One thing I've learned after 25 years of traveling for business and eating in restaurants all over the country is to appreciate the art of timing a meal. It's much harder than most people realize. Getting appetizers, entrées, and drinks to the table at just the right pace without making guests feel rushed or forgotten is the mark of a truly professional restaurant. The Hill has this mastered. Every course arrived at exactly the right time, the pacing was flawless, and the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely top-notch. It's wonderful to see the new owners preserving what has made this restaurant a Rochester favorite for generations. Thank you for keeping this tradition alive. I'll continue making The Hill a must-visit every time I'm back home.

Now simply called "The Hill," the quality of the food is still as good (if not better) than when it was Forest Hill. The bar is really quaint and lively when you walk in. The service is excellent as well. Glad this spot hasn't gone anywhere, can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

I was looking for a place to see some live music on a Friday night and noticed that a guy I know…read morewas playing at Blue Barn Cidery in Hilton/ No. Greece. I've been there a few times, but it's been a few years. My wife had never gone there, so I thought it'd be nice to introduce her to the place. It was a nice warm night so they had the doors open and everybody pretty much was sitting outside. They have a lot of tables outside - some on the patio and a whole bunch out on the lawn. It's a very family friendly place, with games to play out on the lawn for the kids and adults. They have a decent menu of sandwiches burgers and the usual appetizers/starters. I wasn't that hungry so believe it or not. I ordered off of the kids menu! The burgers were huge. They were double patties and I didn't think I needed that. So I ordered the chicken strips/chicken fingers which came with their potato differs, which are like thin potato wedges. You had your choice of sauces so I got barbecue and lime Crema. Both were really good. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich and could only eat part of it because it was huge too. It also came with the potato dippers. She liked what she had of it! So there is a farm that is part of Blue Barn Cidery and they just harvest it a whole bunch of blueberries so they are selling blueberry confections in their gift shop. When you first walk in you walk right through the gift shop which sells honey and candles and T-shirts, etc. They have a whole bunch of choices of cider, but I'm more of a beer guy so I got my favorite, which is Other Half Green City IPA. My wife hasn't been drinking, but she absolutely loves root beer and they have Saranac root beer there so she was happy. It was a very relaxing place to have some dinner and a drink and listen to some music outside. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back.

I've actually been a customer for years - from meeting friends for an afternoon cider, to attending group work events, to listening to local bands, to attending costume contests during Halloween. I always feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported as a consumer, despite my lack of enthusiasm for the latest IPA and/or the fact that I am often the DD (designated driver) in need of a non-alcoholic beverage. Three Heads is a great place, with good people, and lots of things to choose from whether it be beer, cider, sours, sodas, non-alcoholic drinks, etc. I will be back, and hope to see you there too!

Friendly and attentive...didn't miss a beat! Her recommendations were spot on! From the appetizers to the main course! All were amazing! Her #1 recommendations were the calamari Sicilian style and the greens & beans BOTH were so tasty! And the greens and beans were so amazing, my uncle ordered them for his main course! The meatballs with ricotta were delicious as well as the antipasto salad. Everyone loved their dinners!! My capellini with the white clam sauce was wonderful! My husband loved his manicotti! The others in our group absolutely loved their meals too! Veal Parmesan, veal piccata, chicken French... what a crazy awesome dinner! We even forced ourselves to order desserts to pass around! The tiramisu and cannolis were amazing! A very popular place that has been enjoyed by locals for over 35 years! So glad we came here while visiting family in Rochester! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There are miles of trails and once the trails have been groomed, skied and packed in, the snow sticks around a while. Plus their location to the east of Rochester and right on the lake means they often get several inches of new snow when other parks might only get a dusting. My husband and I are avid cross-country skiers and we have skied all over the park, including areas that are not groomed. The park is beautiful, quiet, with ample parking, and when the temps are good, it is about the best you can get. There are trails that are more easy/flat, trails that wind through woods, trails with up and down hills, trails in the pine forest, trails across the open fields - lots of options for every level of skier!! There are also many parking lots where you can access the trails, and for those who like other winter activities, like ice fishing and sledding, there are lots of places to enjoy. I love this park, especially in winter!
