Make sure blow dryers work, make sure outlets work, Try to not charging an 18% bull crap charge for ?????? Incidentals! I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Asheville NC I payed 198 for 2 nights. To Hike Great Smokey Mountains Nat'l Park! Located in a great lil town like Bangor and was not ripped off by 18% ! They had a open pool and gym! They had a restaurant w breakfast & dinner! Also located about same from Nat'l Parks too. I also had a bigger room w 2 beds. Made my reservation w holiday inn too! I will not use a booking site they rip people off. I deserved a better explanation to what the 18% was for. But got "for incidentals" that's all. That's not a proper response. I've already picked where I'm staying in September 2021. The food was cold French-toast rock hard. It was approx 9 am. I guess you can't complain much for $10 a couple! See pics: sent me an email saying I need to change my review! LMAO They do not want my review posted so they sent this telling me to change it! Nerve can't handle truth about the hotel then I'll post on every site possible so people know how they try to only get good reviews

We passed back into the States and reserved a room at the Holiday Inn in Bangor. The hotel was under renovation, but our room clearly hadn't been updated yet. There were some simple complimentary beverages in the lobby.

I really don't like leaving 5 stars for hotels but I feel this location went above and beyond for me. I was in town for 2 nights due to Delta having a pilot issue on the second day so I was able to stay another night. The lady @ check in ( her husband drove the van ) for the life of me k can't remember her name & I do apologize for that. She was an Angel and went way out of her way to accommodate me. I do have a spire membership with IHG so I don't know if that helped my cause but my experience here was awesome. She put me in 346 that's way in the back of this huge hotel. The room was massive. Full kitchen and all the items u would need to make whatever u need for an extended stay. Both the living room & the bedroom had large TVs. The king bed was have and plush just like I like it. The shower was huge & I wanted to rip that awesome back lit mirror off the wall and take it home because my wife would love to have it. I wasn't able to get breakfast because I left @ 3:50am for my flight. I would no doubt stay here again

I would NOT have stayed at this lodging had my employer not reimbursed for the expense. (There are several lodgings surrounding the airport that are cheaper). This lodging is suited to business travelers especially those accessing the AIRPORT. Full on breakfast with a menu prepared to suite. Beds are firm. Our shower water is hot and had a message setting which was healing. INDOOR POOL is hard to beat in Maine anytime of year. The staff is professional and friendly. I found the 2am train endearing instead of annoying as I grew up in a "train town" myself.

This hotel is under renovation. But it's next to a gym so you receive free passes. The food is pretty good. But there is a "high end" truck stop called "Dysarts" well omg...the FOOD! Sooooooo good! Homemade pot pie, lobster rolls, homemade blueberry pie, & Whoopi pies! The van will take you there. It's a must try! The hotel staff are very nice and accommodating!

Horrible horrible horrible!!!!! Got moved rooms twice because they smelt like cigarette smoke. Then at 8 am they started moving heavy equipment around and it was beeping then from 8:30 on they were hammering. The room was not the cleanest and ran down. Oh and the beds are old and not comfortable my back was killing me when I woke up.

There is plenty of parking both public and private (behind a key activated gate) and it's FREE. The lobby is very clean and staff is very friendly. I was able to get approved for a late checkout which is helpful as we are attending the PBR event next door at the Cross Insurance Center. The convenience of being able to walk to any venue at the center is very convenient and worth the costs. I got a king bed suite which has plenty of room and a pull out couch. Bathrooms are huge with plenty of lighting and our room had an oversized walk-in shower. Pressure and water temp were great and I didn't feel like I didn't have any room to move around. Bed is comfortable and like most places the pillows are "eh", where I typically have to stack a couple to get comfortable for me to sleep. The little kitchen has everything you need to cook a small meal for your family if you choose to. Ice maker is built into the freezer making it easy to produce ice without having to walk down a long hallway to find the ice machine. It's full size refrigerator in the suite so we ordered Walmart delivery to bring some snacks and drinks to the room. The Hollywood Casino is located across the street and there is plenty of restaurants and shopping within 2-3 miles of the area. If you are attending an event at the Cross Insurance Center, I would highly recommend that you stay at the Residence Inn both for convenience and comfort. The Timber Kitchen and Bar is located within the hotel but also accessible from outside the hotel. Read about my review with them that you won't want to miss. Overall, I had a great experience and I would stay here again if we attend any events at the Cross Insurance Center, both for the proximity to the venue, but also because I can keep my car parked for free at the hotel.

For a hotel complimentary premade breakfast, theirs was excellent and one of the best we'd ever had. Lots of bacon. They had a very cool touchless pancake maker. Cons: The décor is very dated - we stayed on the 3rd floor that was decorated with a long row of first lady photos along both sides of the corridor hall - honestly it felt like something out of the Shining. There were odd sinks in the hallway near the elevator. The ice machine on the 1st floor was great but the ice machine on the 3rd floor didn't work and on the 2nd floor did not produce a lot of ice. The spa is tiny and no children allowed and the swimming pool is not connected to the hotel but in the parking lot. We wish they'd start the breakfast at 6am on weekends - we had an adventure planned so we had to leave at 7am when the breakfast just opened so we missed that morning. Keep perspective - this is not a posh modern hotel. Once you get used to its oddness, the hotel is a good, more affordable place for a good night's rest. We needed a hotel in Bangor ME for Labor Day Weekend - we checked the major chain hotels and the prices were all super expensive as it looks like they doubled their prices for the holiday weekend. Best Western White House Inn was the most affordable of what we could find. We noticed when we google mapped the hotel location, it was listed in Hampden ME as they are closer to Hampden but the Bangor address must be more desirable.

This year, we paid the extra $30 to stay at the HGI (plus another $30 for breakfast, which is free at the Hampton). There were a number of minor disappointments at the HGI but nothing compares to the lack of hot water for a shower in the morning, which is baseline to call yourself a hotel. There's nothing quite like a cold shower after a bad night's sleep. Minor disappointments included that there was nobody at the front desk when we tried to check in at about 6 p.m. There was no bell and after 10 minutes of waiting we had to let ourselves behind the counter to knock on the manager's door. It was also really noisy - sound insulation is terrible, particularly from the hallway, which was a behive of squabbling children and teenagers and banging doors all night long. The toilet was mal-adjusted (the float was set above the fill tube) until I fixed it at about 2:00 a.m.

Staff is always friendly, willing to help and always greet you when you come into the lobby. The continental breakfast is a big reason why I choose Hampton along with the more affordable accommodations compared to other Hilton brands. The experience was no different for the Hampton Inn and Bangor with the exception of the wait time to get our room. Check-In is as 3:00pm and my family and I were not able to get into the room till 4:00pm. I am a Hilton Honors member, checked in the day before and despite all that effort spent an hour in the lobby area waiting for the room to be ready. Non-Hilton members were walking into the lobby whose rooms were ready. I know this because the front desk staff asked them if they would be interested in becoming members during their check-in process. We eventually got up to around room 1 hour later, but only because I got notification on my phone of my digital key being ready. The staff was not the one's who notified us. When I provided my feedback in their email survey, I got the typical response that said sorry and they hope we give them another chance, but my feedback will help improve. They did nothing to compensate me for the 1 hour less of room time I got but paid for. I can empathize with businesses who are short-staffed and the difficulty of hiring quality individuals to fill key customer-facing roles or support staff who make up all the other departments who make a business like a hotel function from day-to-day. I work for a bank, and we too have difficulty hiring quality talent or those willing to go above and beyond just the expected responsibilities.
