Here for our annual trip to celebrate spring break with our grandson who lives 4 hours away, Bangor is the perfect half way point. Each year a new hotel and this year we stayed here. Clean and well appointed rooms with all amenities for the long term stays. Small kitchen with eating area for 4, living area for 4, TV in each bedroom and the living area. Our unit had two bedrooms. One for myself and hubby and one for our grandson. We got the breakfast package included in our stay. A nice selection of continental foods and some hot food, Saturday sees sausage and eggs Sunday has bacon! Love bacon and have no idea how they cut it so thin. Loved it. Lots of add ons for cereals hot and could, dairy intolerant options, and great bread selection gluten free muffins too! Coffee station is filled throughout the day into the night, hot cocoa and tea available too. They keep this stocked well too. Want chips or other snacks? They have a small shop with treats and medicine needs to shaving cream and chapstick. Other items as well but did not dig in due to no need. We made use of the pool area and gym, both were clean and well equipped. Lobby area was spacious and a computer/work station. Staff: very good. Breakfast folks did a great job keeping the food stocked almost as fast as people ate. Housekeeping very good with exception to an issue we found early on. I seemed to be the only one to notice. Before check out my husband noticed, therefore we reported. Front desk: friendly and polite at check in, smooth sailing. After a day of exploring Maine's coastal towns and parks, the TownePlace Suites is a welcomed respite and place to recharge. Since we are members, we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite, which came with a full kitchen. Too bad we were passing through. This would be an ideal home base to explore the wonders of Maine in any direction we choose to go. The breakfast the next morning was varied enough to satisfy both our appetites. Great place to stay for an extended time, right in the middle of Bangor Maine. It is a little convoluted to get here, but your GPS will take you there. Driving around this area made me think of the term 'as the crow flies'..the term originated in New England and I understand why. Some place that is 500 yards on your map, could take 2 miles to drive. The TownePlace Suites brand is the sister of Residence Inns, both from Marriott...the rooms seem bigger at TownePlace. In fact the space between the TV wall and our bed...it was big enough to easily have a waltz dance competition without bumping into too many things. It's the epitome of 'wasted living space'. We were only staying for one night, but realized it would be a great place for longer term stays. It has a kitchen (with a medium size refrigerator/freezer, electric range, and full kitchen sink). The bathroom is adequate, with shower/tub combo and good hair products (it looks like the Marriott around here have gotten away from those small disposable shampoos and gone to the refillable shampoos stationed at each bathroom). The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. It has a very large indoor pool, the kind that would be associated with a formal hotel. It has self service laundry. The workout room is 24 hours and includes multiple treadmills, free weights, and ellipical. Free breakfast was included, though it was minimal A couple of hot foods were offered, including an interesting spinach crustless quiche (isn't that a souflee?). The dining area is really nice...perfect to eat carry-out with a group of people if you didn't want to eat in your room. read more

Hotel is nice, up to date, and clean. The continental breakfast was better than most places. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We accidentally broke a coffee pot, and housekeeping/maintenance arrived with in minutes to clean up the glass and bring a new one. It is conveniently located just off I-95 and is one hour and fifteen minutes from Bar Harbor. read more

We stayed in the 1 bedroom 2 room suite with a separate living room. There is also a kitchen, which we utilized one night. Free breakfast buffet, but there was nothing I really cared for. It was a nice and comfortable stay overall. The main negative was the loud ac unit in the bedroom. read more

In town last minute because my father had a heart failure I booked 3 rooms at this hotel for $1500 and was told when I arrived that because I showed up at 8am my reservations were all cancelled and I would still be charged. I have probably stayed at over 100 Marriott's world wide Abigail was hands down the absolute worst and rudest Marriott employee I've ever encountered very combative and not helpful or solution driven in the slightest if you're having a bad day stay far far away from Abigail she will make it much much worse read more

We attended an event at a Bangor venue, about 2 hours from our home. We decided we were too tired to make the drive home, especially in the dark. We did a quick search and found this hotel, and immediately booked, knowing hotels in the area fill up quickly when there are events. We were beyond please with our stay and wish we could've stayed longer to enjoy the place. There were some restaurants and fast food nearby but we opted to stay in, and just bought some microwaveable meals from the hotel lobby. Staff was polite, room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. We have already decided that this hotel will make us less apt to say "let's not go to that event and make the 2 hour drive on way" - we will instead planning on staying here and driving home the next day! read more

I checked into my hotel on 5/18, first impression- super cute room. Then I opened the refrigerator and saw someones left behind food in there. Amongst the items was some guestionable looking roast beef which was in there since 5/14, you could read this on the sales label. I then sat down to do some office work, went to turn on the light and noticed that it was covered in dust, and there was a grey hair on it, my hair is black. Fast forward to bedtime, as I got in, the sheet came completely undone from the top. Right now, cleanliness is more important than ever. I am an essential worker as well, I don't get to drop my standards because of these trying times. I hope your company standards are much higher than this and this is simply an example of inexperience and a major training opportunity. read more

It's really nice and clean. Well appointed, and very new feeling. I had a king suite and it had a full kitchen and a full sized closet. It was fairly quiet, couldn't hear the neighbors for the most part. Very clean and tidy. The help was friendly and nice. The wifi was both paid and free. The free version only really allows you to surf the web and get emails. The full access gives you streaming and large file. I popped the extra $4.75, and it allowed me 3 devices. (I used two) it was perfect to run Netflix on my ipad and my laptop. There was a nice "convenience" section in the lobby, and the breakfast area was very attractive. read more

This ended up being a perfect place to stay during my visit to Bangor. The property was easy to find off of I-95. There is free parking and an abundance of it. Also next door is a Courtyard property and they share a parking lot. Upon arriving I was greeted by a friendly employee who checked me in and the process went smoothly. There was a sign on the door that stated they were celebrating their year anniversary of being open. You could tell that it was new as it still had that brand new look. I had made my reservation with a 2 queen studio. It was on the 3rd floor at the end of a hallway. It was very quiet. The room was amazing (pictures posted) and I had so much room. There was also a kitchenette area with a fridge, small stove top, dishwasher plus stocked cabinets and drawers. There was free wifi on property as well and for under $5 you could upgrade to a more premium connection which I opted to do. I never had any issues with the internet which was nice as sometimes it can be unreliable. The property also offered free breakfast which consisted of a waffle maker, pastries, cereal/milk, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, and coffee. I took advantage and it didn't disappoint. If I ever come back and visit I will most certainly stay at this property as it was pretty amazing and close to the mall and other shopping. read more

This place is nice. Very clean and smells fresh. The room looks like it was newly remodeled. It's like a little apartment you can rent while you're away on a business trip. The front desk staff are all super nice. The whole suite was spotless so their housekeeping team is doing an amazing job. The bed and pillows were pretty comfy. The place is not too far from University of Maine so this is a perfect place for parents to stay while visiting their kids who are away for college. They also have a store full of snacks and the pricing wasn't too bad. My only complaint is that the rooms are not as sound proof. I can hear Godzilla stomping around in the suite above me and Cinderella sneezing in the room next to mine. This might not be good for light sleepers like my husband. Other than that, I love this hotel and will be coming back in the future. read more

While attending a concert in Bangor, my friend and I got a king bed studio suite at TownePlace Suites. The Room: A nice kitchen including a large freezer/fridge, stove, dishwasher, sink, and microwave. I was impressed that there were items such as a cutting board, pots, and a strainer. The rest of the room was not that large, but big enough for two people and possibly a child. Beautiful property, and a terrific stay! You don't get a feeling for how nice this hotel really is from the exterior. It appears as any other property in this category. But once you walk in - wowsers. Sleek, modern, beautiful colors. The rooms are spacious, well-designed, and immaculately clean! (Love, love, LOVE "Closet Envy"!) Front-desk staff is personable, attentive, and check-in was effortless. Fitness room is clean, and decently appointed. The (salt water!) pool looked nice, but alas, I wasn't able to take advantage this trip. Will definitely stay here again when business bring me to the Bangor area. read more

This hotel would be great if they add in more soundproofing. It's right next to the highway and I heard it so clearly in the room that I wouldn't be able to sleep or nap during the day. There doesn't seem to be much traffic at night, but I did get promptly woken up in the morning by the traffic noise. Being a gold member, we got upgraded to a two bedroom suite which has a kitchen. The room was beautiful and clean. The wifi was much faster than most hotels. The breakfast had a very limited selection. I only slept here at night so it wasn't a huge deal for me, but I'd definitely recommend staying somewhere without the noise. read more

I stay at Marriott properties around 50 - 60 times a year. Most are very nice and have had little to complain about. I was staying in Bangor ME for 2 night and was stuck during a snow storm. The service and help I received shocked me. I was expecting them to be helpful but this was like staying with family you really liked and they like you. We also went next door to the courtyard because they had dinner and they were just as nice. They made a bad time great. If I ever am in the area again this will be my stop for sure. read more

Very nice stay, clean and friendly staff! The housekeeping did a great job and we even got a thank you note back from them on the tip we left. The kitchen was used often and was fully stocked. They had real plates and silverware at the breakfast buffet. read more

We stayed at the TowneSuites Suites Marriott in Bangor for a month while relocating to Brewer. This pet-friendly extended stay hotel was always clean, quiet and staffed with very friendly and helpful staff! While the breakfast buffet is limited, it's fine for short stays and staffed by the very helpful and cheerful Katherine! The kitchens are stocked with a fairly large fridge. The cabinets are stocked with clean and new porcelain dishes, glassware, mixing bowls, towels, silverware, etc. You can also "borrow" electric mixers and other cooking appliances at the front desk. They always stocked the room with dishwasher detergent and bath supplies. Thank you to front desk staff, including (but not limited to) Larissa, Jeff and Ashley, who always greeted us and were quick to offer their assistance! They were wonderful! Unless you have a dog or cat sensitivity, we recommend staying with them. read more

We always stay at Towneplace when we are in Bangor, as we have a large family, the rooms are big enough for all of us, plus the kitchen is a big help for kids drinks and snacks. We have never had a bad experience with this place until last weekend. I called reservations and booked two night stay, i used our AAA for a discount, and was given a price, which I gave them my card number to reserve and they sent me my reservations to my email. We then decided we would like to stay and extra night so I called front desk in Bangor and requested an extra night and that person quoted me the same price as the other two nights. I agreed and we went to the motel for our short vacation. When i got there i was told the reservations needed to be changed as the reservation company quoted me the wrong price due to my AAA card discount which made the price of the room go up $10 per night. So that was $30 extra for our stay. I spoke to the manager at the hotel and she said yes that it was their fault that i was given a price that was not accurate, i showed her my email, and that i would expect that they would honor this as it was quoted to me, i had proof, and the manager stated it was their fault. Well she did not give me the room for the price i was quoted, nor did she even try to comp anything for the price difference. I do love this place, staff are always nice, i can take our dog which is a plus however this is very disappointing. When a company quotes you a price and you have the confirmation they should have to honor this even if it was their fault that they gave us a lower price. I would not have stayed the night here as several other hotels in Bangor was much cheaper for last weekend than this one. I would say i am very disappointed with our stay and the way the manager handled this reservation. I was also concerned as we are in the middle of COVID and my co worker also rented a room same weekend and her room was not even cleaned, in the cupboard there was left over food from the person before her, 3 boxes of crackers, soda, and chips which shows' this room was not cleaned and did not make me feel good about the risk of Covid and their lack of cleaning. read more

my husband and i checked in to this hotel on 8/22/20 and stayed for 6 nights and it was the worst 6 nights we have ever encountered, i always review the reviews before choosing a hotel and when i saw more wonderful reviews than bad i figured why not give it a chance when we arrived the staff was nice, but our first night at 9:30 pm we discovered blood stained sheets, cleanliness goes out the window, then there was the very loud air conditioner, the guests above us, were so loud, sounded like they were coming through the floor, need i say more, you can only tolorate so much before you have to complain after 4 days of this we complained to the staff regarding our concerns, we were told they are sorry and would take are of it, unfortunately the guests above us continued with there loud ridiculousness, so my husband had to go to desk at 5:30 am to give a second complaint and was very upset that he was woken up by the noise also there were guests walking around with no MASK!!!! omg if this isnt enough the morning of check out the maid service were knocking on our door to remind us of check out at 10:00 am as if we needed reminding, we couldnt wait to get the hell out of this hotel! we will NEVER stay at his hotel again! not a good experience, very very disapointed read more

Stay at Marriott properties fairly often, but this was my first stay at a TownPlace Suites. Hotel still seems new and staff was very pleasant. A few minor surprises - first, the room was a bit smaller than I expected for a "suite". It was not much larger than a standard hotel room, except it had the kitchenette built in. (And why does the closet open into the bathroom? It would be much more accessible if they put the doors on the back side, which would open to the entryway.) Second, the breakfast food serving area is very small, with food items against two facing walls, so you are bumping into people behind you. But, the dining area was fine. Food selection was exactly the same each day (no variety), which was not an issue for a 3-day stay, but I imagine would get frustrating for an extended stay (which is how this hotel is branded). read more
