    Breakfast times.

We stayed a little over a week and it was a great stay! Room was clean when we got there, when we needed something from housekeeping it was brought within the hour (it wasn't an emergency). All the employees we had contact with were super friendly and helpful. Noise levels weren't bad for a hotel next to a highway. I'm a very light sleeper and was never woken from the cars. The walls are thin however and you can hear your neighbors talk, what they're watching on TV, and unfortunately their alarms. Pool was clean (but stained on bottom) and warm. I don't think it was heated by anything other than the sun though. Spa was nice. Breakfast was always fresh. They always had bagels (plain, everything), muffins (banana, chocolate chocolate chip), sliced bread (white, multi grain wheat), cinnamon rolls, biscuits, gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, omelettes, 6 kinds of cereal (special k w/strawberries), fruit loops, raisin bran), then 3 oatmeal flavors I didn't get a good look at, Greek yogurt (blueberry, strawberry), and hard boiled eggs. On Wednesday and Saturday they have bacon. Pancakes are there every day but they don't always work everyday. Drinks were apple, orange, and cranberry juice, water, and 2% milk cartons. Small offering of toppings but adequate. Just a lovely place to stay.

We stayed here while visiting the Amador County area and because of past history with Holiday Inn Express' and the fact that we were able to use our points to stay :-) We arrived a little early, but we were able to check in and they accommodated us to our request as much as they could. We had requested an upstairs room and somewhat away from the elevator. The room we ended up staying in was perfect and very spacious. It was a warm day when we arrived so we definitely used the A/C in the room which did a great job keeping the room cool. The lobby area was very bright and welcoming. The free hot breakfast was outstanding as usual with plenty of selections available. The breakfast area had various sitting arrangements available. All in all it was a great stay. We definitely will stay here again when visitng the Jackson area.

Moldy showers for 160$ a night gotta love that !

Not covid cautious. Staff are not mask friendly and they are incredibly dismissive of complaints.

They even have a pancake machine that you watch dispense the batter, cook, and then come out on your plate which the kids loved.

It truly is an upscale, ethereal garden and it brought my Sailor Moon-inspired dreams to life. It was so breathtaking that it was the only venue we bothered touring - we booked as quickly as we could! We only questioned that decision once, which was when we read the contract. It was a little bit surprising for the uninitiated, since we never knew a few things like how we need to add vendor counts to our catering totals or that music had to be off by 9:00 PM. But I want to reassure anyone else made nervous by these things that all of that was totally not a big deal, and actually a blessing in disguise on all counts! I also really enjoyed having Lynn being present on the grounds and a part of our wedding. She is so sweet and I heard from several guests how much they loved her and what a treasure she is. Previously, my then-fiancé and I had been to a wedding somewhere else where the staff were rude to us and other guests. We never told the couple about it because we didn't want to put a cloud over their day, but the result was that we became very nervous about our own guests potentially experiencing something like that. It was such a relief to hear how much our guests loved Lynn! She also helped me with a timing issue I had starting the ceremony, so that was a big help and support that I don't think we would have gotten anywhere else. Having our wedding at The Gardens was a dream come true and we know we made the best possible decision. I'm sure others have already gushed about having the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception at one location or the incredible bridal salon or the fact that there's so many hotel options within walking distance, so I'll leave it at that and just say that you will really love this venue if you're planning for an outdoor event!

Of course the first slot machine we went to hit and we started up $300, which we essentially gave back as we were chasing the big win. A guy next us said 'It only takes one spin to win' and we took that a little too literally lol. We played a variety of the machines, but the most luck we had was with the Top Dollar Machines, the others weren't lucky this time around. While we only left up $30, we spent 3 hours of fun just playing away. Something I haven't seen at any other casino was a free soda and non-alcoholic drink areas! It's Pepsi products though, so not the best, but at least it's free. I saw people ordering smoothies, which looked really good but we never stayed at a slot machine long enough to get one. We came on a Thursday, and it was bummer that there was only (1) blackjack table going with a $5 minimum. I walked by multiple times and there was never an open seat. Plenty of seats of pai gow or poker though. Maybe it was just the time of day, but definitely would love to try my hand at blackjack next time around.

National Hotel Jackson by Hilton, Jackson, CA…read more I'm staying here tonight in Jackson, California, at the National Hotel. It's an older motel-style property with a lot of history, and it shows in a charming, mixed-modern way. Historic charm + updated touches:** The hotel has kept its vintage character while updating as much as possible. You can really feel the history in the design, artifacts, and mirrored features spread throughout the building. The carpets are clean, I've walked on them with white socks and nothing is coming up or looking worn. Just one small smudge spotted, which isn't a big deal for me. Wi-Fi is Fast and reliable, which is great for staying connected for work. The front desk staff is amazing. Tamara, in particular, was kind, patient, and helped me check in my room smoothly. It's all-around excellent service. There are interesting artifacts and standout mirror features that add to the character of the place. Parking is across the street and you have to cross a small bridge. The parking is covered, which is nice, but the walk with luggage can be a pain for a solo traveler. I hoped for a larger bath to soak in, but the tub was quite small--barely fit. If soaking is important to you, this might be a disappointment. Some of the drawers are a bit beat up and hard to operate; they don't always slide smoothly back into place. Breakfast starts at 6:00 AM, which is rough if you need to be at work early (like me at 5 AM). A later start or grab-and-go option would be nicer for early-risers. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 4 stars for the staff and the overall feel. It's a thoughtfully kept historic hotel that leans into its roots while still offering practical amenities like fast Wi‑Fi and clean rooms. If you're in Jackson for business or a short stay and can roll with the older-motel layout, you'll likely enjoy it. Tips for future guests It's old and creaky - light sleepers forget it. If you're solo and luggage-heavy, check in first and then grab a trolley. If soaking is important, you might want to set expectations for a standard tub rather than a soaking tub. If breakfast timing is critical for you, arrange a backup plan. Would I stay here again? Yes, for the staff, charm, and value. If you're drawn to historic hotels with character and solid service, this is a good pick in Jackson.
