I did my research for our Spring Break road trip and chose this hotel for certain reasons than staying directly in Vancouver. For one, it was convenient to many restaurants, other food markets and gas stations, if needed and was not overpriced. This hotel is about 20-25 minutes to Vancouver depending on the traffic. There were so many construction being done on the roads that we kept hitting traffic but then we were there during the weekdays. This was my families first time in British Columbia Canada and I have to say this was a wonderful friendly clean and modern hotel stay that I would stay for a week if I had to! It was very modern and had a great staff at the front desk. We had a great experience and most of all, my kids loved the room. The hotel itself was very clean and modern I loved that they offered family suites for family of 6. The suite we had had like a separate dining and living area separating the room for the two queen beds. The couch was a sofabed. It was a big room that offered a good size bathroom and lots of mirrors and counter space in it. The dining area had a mini kitchen but without the stove/oven. They offered utensils and plates with microwave, refrig and sink. What was weird was the dining table was for 3 and not 4? The two rooms had their own Flat tv sets. They offered a computer desk and lots of plugs for everyone's computer or cell phone charge. The rug was very clean They offered free wifi but it was slow. There were so many other seating areas in the room but not much lighting in the room unless you open the curtains wide. They offer a modern indoor pool/spa and sauna/steam rooms. Very clean and not crowded with younger kids so we practically had it to our selves. They offer women's and men's lockers with shower stalls that comes with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They offer towels to use at your convenience after your swim. The only thing I didn't like was that the pool was not heated so we went back and forth from the spa to the pool as the pool can be cold. They offered free newspapers which we didn't even read, complimentary breakfast with so much to choose from and refilled once it's empty. My favorite was the pancake makers. They had their own large section were the breakfast was served. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as this was decently priced and not overly priced like the hotels in Vancouver that didn't offer suites for 6 people or free breakfast. Hope this was helpful to you....

Mountain View Farm - View of house from outdoors

    Mountain View Farm

    (2 reviews)

Mountain View Farm was the perfect venue for our August 2024 wedding!…read more We initially discovered Mountain View Farm through internet searches and were immediately drawn in by the beautiful photos. After visiting the venue in person, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. Oana, who manages the venue, gave us a tour of the backyard and the house. Seeing it firsthand helped us visualize how we wanted to set things up. The outdoor space was ideal for the event itself. At the same time, the house provided a convenient and cozy option for us and our family to stay together, eliminating any worries about accommodation or travel time. The location is just far enough from Vancouver to feel like a peaceful escape, but close enough that it's easily accessible--only about a 45-minute drive. It ticked all the boxes for us. Venue Details: House rules: No shoes inside, and quiet hours start at 11 PM. Guests are responsible for cleaning up, trash/recycling and collecting towels in the laundry room. Pricing: The indoor house is $1,000 per night (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms). Outdoor space prices vary by guest count: $135 per hour for up to 25 people, $165 per hour for up to 50 people. Rentals: They offer table and chair rentals (rectangular tables for 6 people, round tables also available) that can be added to your contract. Decor: Oana has decor available for rent, or you can bring your own. We loved the flexibility of choosing our own vendors, although they also provide recommendations. Before the wedding, we visited the farm one more time to finalize the layout and decor details. Oana was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, and we were thrilled to have her as our day-of coordinator. Her knowledge of the venue and her experience made everything run smoothly. We stayed at the farm for two nights--one night before the wedding and the night of--which was a huge help. It gave us time to settle in, unpack, and handle some of the setup the day before. The house is spacious and lovely, there's room to take it easy and even a jacuzzi, One minor issue some of our guests mentioned was the house's septic system, which requires no tissues to be flushed to avoid a potential flood. Honestly, we found this to be a small sacrifice for such a beautiful venue. The Wedding Day: The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Oana played a key role in ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Our guests loved the venue, and many commented on the stunning views. It felt like our little hidden gem, and all our hard work paid off. The photos were breathtaking, especially with the unobstructed views of Golden Ears. In the end, Mountain View Farm was the perfect choice for an outdoor wedding. We're so glad we had the flexibility to customize the space with our own vendors and decorations, and it gave us the beautiful, peaceful setting we were looking for.

With the stunning backdrop and well designed property amenities everyone loved it and had a beautiful time. Oana, Milad and the owner are beyond helpful and accommodating of any needs. We would highly recommend any special occasion to be held here.

The food is beautifully presented and tasty. The focus on flavour is obvious. We had three starters: scallops, crab cakes, and the beet salad. All had accompanying flavours that were layered and that didn't over power the dish's focus ingredient. For mains we had the pork chop and a beef duo of short rib and tenderloin. Both were served atop vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork chop had a delightful quince demi-glacé that was pleasing and a marvellous complement to the pork which was perfectly seared. The beef duo was terrific. And both were perfect, absolutely perfect in preparation and taste. It's a small room but it was warm and airy. They still have dividers up which was reassuring but not obtrusive. And the service was terrific. A young man, the owner's son seated us and brought us water efficiently and professionally. And our waitress was great; she remembered our order and we were looked after so well. Highly recommended.

The one issue is that the wine list is terrible for the quality of the food. Wines like Burrowing Owl or Bells Glos would be far better than these so called BC premium wines. Also a better sound selection would improve the ambiance. Have already made my reservation for next month! This restaurant should move to South Surrey where it would be much better appreciated! People still come in wearing ball caps like some side alley pub or Earls or Cactus Club. This plac e is far better than that!
