This property is no longer a Holiday Inn affiliated hotel. It is well maintained but clearly older. The staff is friendly and the rates are fair. But you cannot reserve through the Holiday Inn website nor can you earn points. read more

Stayed here recently to ski at Brundage. The hotel is older but nicely decorated. The pool was open until 11pm which was great as we arrived late and wanted to swim. The area also has a nice big hot tub. There is no limit on how many people can use the pool and in the evening it was very crowded. The hotel also has a small gym which was empty most of the time. The breakfast was nice, a lady serves you food. They had cooked oatmeal only once and then they transitioned to packaged oatmeal which was disappointing. The room itself wasn't that clean, I found trash under the bed. Overall, a nice stay. read more

The hotel itself was nice and there was a decent breakfast. The woman behind the desk at the hotel was very rude upon check out though. A short lady, blonde hair, middle aged lady with glasses! I want even get into all the ways that she was rude but she just had such a bad attitude and really didn't care if we stayed there next time or not. It seemed that she had a bad day or just hated her job. I recommend the hotel but I do not recommend the staff. I did complain to the manager about His insubordinate employee. He really didn't seem to care and I knew he wouldn't be doing anything about it. I wouldn't stay here since there are so many other choices of hotels. I had a much better pleasant stay and the hotel was actually nicer at the Best Western just half mile up the street on past trips. Also the hotel McCall is about $20 cheaper per night! read more

This seems an older property perhaps recently updated for design details like furniture in the lobby and the finishes in the bathrooms. In spite of age it seems well maintained and it was impressive that both public spaces and rooms were spotlessly clean. Kudos to the maintenance and cleaning staffs as well as management for this being so. We found this HIE fine for a one night stay. But it is not a property we'd return to if we were staying multiple nights. ROOM: We found the suite-alcove areas to be dark and the one we had lacked lighting at the sofa for reading nor was there a TV there. One to sit on the bed for light to read or watch TV which was smaller than it might ideally be. (A first world problem, for sure, for one night.) On the plus side, there was a Keurig for coffee on the bar sink counter plus a quiet under-counter fridge. Bed a bit soft but linens and pillows were comfortable and fresh. FACILITY AMENITIES: There is ample parking on site, standard HIE processed-food breakfast (not our thing but they had bananas so it worked), large breakfast gathering room, free wifi at decent speed and an indoor pool. There are lodgey details as theme, like carved bears and timbers at outside entry and taxidermy of wild animals on walls inside. ROOM ASSIGMENT MATTERS : This property has rooms and suites. Suites are the better choice. King suite options are standard and "jacuzzi" in which a tub is installed in corner of the bedroom space. There are also two 2-King bedroom "family suites" on prem. Those also have pull out sofa in a small suite-alcove and single bath. The rooms and suites at front of building face the parking lot and southwest-ish, so noisier and warmer. Choose the back for more private and quieter spaces with less afternoon heat. The first floor, parking lot facing rooms are particularly undesirable as are any rooms near the relatively noisy elevator. We had an issue involving room assignment at check in. The nice desk-man was finally able to resolve it and the problem was not his creation to start with, but it added 25 minutes and the need to be assertive to check in for us. Alas. Given room assignment does matter here, I'll share the check-in story. THE STORY: We purposefully booked a non-jacuzzi King suite. Although back in the late 70's some hotel property designers thought it a good idea to install jacuzzi tubs in bedroom spaces just a few steps from the bed, even when I first stayed in a hotel with that 'upgrade' in 1980 I thought it was ridiculous. (And in those days I was young and newly married and could imagine what one might take advantage of with one's spouse in that jacuzzi just steps from the bed.) Not only would I not want to sit in a tub in a public property like a hotel, I haven't been voluntarily in a tub of any kind since the first Clinton-administration term in the mid 90's. (That was only because of broken ankle that made me unable to stand in a shower.) Plus at my age, boostin' in and out isn't so easy either. Just sayin' - tubs aren't my thing. And I think a large tub is a waste of room space too in hotel bedrooms which are already small-ish. Our king non-jacuzzi suite was confirmed. But on arrival, the desk-man told us he had good news and it was this: we had been upgraded to a jacuzzi suite. Um, thanks but we don't want that, we said and explained why it had not been our choice to start with. Well, he said, these are really nice rooms, trust me. OK, we said, we'll take a look. But in walking all the way to the room, we discovered not only awkward jacuzzi in the bedroom but the suite-alcove wall backed to the elevator bay. Tilt. We walked back to desk to decline 'upgrade' and then we learned the true story: the king suite reserved for us had been reassigned by another desk agent to someone wanting to extend their stay. The only options for us were jacuzzi suite (but for Pete's sake...couldn't they choose one not backing to elevator bay?) or one of the two "family suites" in the hotel. With encouragement on our part, the family suite was our assignment for the night. But it should not have been this hard to fix the problem. ACCESSIBLITY: Accessible (ADA) parking in lot. Public spaces seemed ample for floor space. Lobby bathroom accessible. Pool had lift. ADA rooms on prem but woefully small sink areas w/out counter space offered in standard rooms from my quick take. LOCATION: Short drive on main drag to downtown and Payette Lake, right across the street from Pancake House. read more

You can tell this hotel is well used and in need of a major remodel. Our room was clean but the carpets were stained and the shower had mold growing on the bottom and the door to the bathroom had major water damage. Will not stay there again. read more

Family weekend trip to McCall during the winter and decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Location had great reviews on the hotel booking web sites. Throughout the entire stay the staff were extremely nice and courteous. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub after dinner one evening as it's open until 11PM. Room was clean, smelled good, and no issues to speak of. Hotel location is minutes from downtown McCall and all the activities. The morning breakfast served by the hotel was beyond what most provide. If you really want a big breakfast then walk directly across the street to the Pancake House! read more

Our first room was great until we pulled down the sheet! Hair, blood, sleep wrinkles and make-up! The next "free upgrade" shared a wall with the elevator! The cushions on the couch had been put back upside down and with the zippers showing. The microwave had splatter drops all over the outside top. The bathroom floors were sticky in both rooms. The elevator floor was dirty and so was the inside wall around the door. The common area and elevator hand sanitizers were empty. They are back to serving buffet style breakfast. Obviously they are way over COVID precautions along with general cleanliness. read more

Went to this hotel for a weekend, and had a pretty good experience. Hotel room was nice, clean, and seemed pretty disinfected. Staff was helpful, nice too. Hand sanitizer bottles were around the hotel which was nice and things were wiped down. Some cons were that the vending machine was glitching so you couldn't really get a lot of things that they had and many people weren't wearing masks (some staff members weren't either), but you can't do a lot about that. Scheduled a reservation there for 4 months and when we got there they told us we had to be 21 when I called then 5 times to make sure everything was reserved and that we were okay to go on our trip being only 18. They said as long as were 18 and there is proof. In the state of Idaho you have to be 18 unless you're this hotel. Don't go here if ur under 21 or they will give you complete Baloney and lie. I wouldn't write this review if they didn't lie to us and make us come all the way down here and expect us to wait on them for our room and tell us we can't be here! Ended up going to 3ed street hotel right across from them and they told us they need to be reported and they have done this well over 5 times. This holiday inn knew just how to wow-me upon walk in. My husband and I like to take weekend trips to McCall every once in awhile and stay in different places each time. This time we chose the Holiday Inn. This one isn't your typical box hotel, it looks like a German hunting lodge, probably hence the name "The Hunt Lodge". Eli was at the desk checking us in. He was pleasant, polite, and excellent at making us feel welcomed and valued. Upon entering the room, it was clean and well cared for. It came with the usual amenities (Shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, etc.) that is expected. The reason this is a four star instead of five star rating is the noise you can hear from the hallways at nighttime. Also the breakfast in the morning does leave room more desire as the pancake machine was broken both mornings we stayed there and the juice machine was out of both apple and orange. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this Holiday inn and wouldn't be opposed to returning. read more

I love this hotel, we stay here allot. Rates finally came down for the winter of course. Love the pool and hot tub. Just wish there was not a policy to allow those who live in area to use pools too. I had to call for housekeeping to clean room. Came back at 4:00 pm and hang been done!!!! It's little things like this that ruin the whole stay. I was informed they are taking care of priority check in rooms for IHG members, of which I am a GOLD ELite member myself. I am staying two nights. Then the whole, we are short on cleaning personnel!! 3 stars = A-OK, and this is an okay hotel. I usually look for three things when I'm away from home: cleanliness, quiet, and decent breakfast. The hotel was nice and clean and is smoke-free. It was mostly quiet, although you could hear stomping on the stairs near our room and the neighbors clinking beer bottles as they rolled around on the floor (I guess they partied hard?). The breakfast was not great- rubbery eggs, plastic-y sausage pucks, and razor-thin bacon strips. They also did freezer cinnamon buns. Coffee was decent. They also had chobani yogurt, bananas, cereal, and juices. The conference room where we spent some of our time was okay; the catering the hotel provided was equally as bad as the breakfast. If you're thinking of having an event here, I'd forego their offerings and pick something up from town. They also didn't heat the room that well, it felt roughly 5 degrees colder than the main entrance. They do have a heated pool and jacuzzi which were nice to have after a day of skiing. The front desk staff, breakfast attendants, and cleaning staff were all friendly. Location was pretty good; about 30 minutes from Tamarack and 20 from Brundage. We walked one evening from the hotel to Salmon River Brewing, it was a pleasant 1 mile walk and helped burn off the calories from our beers and meal. Pets are not allowed, which is a bummer as I have a very well behaved weiner who loves to travel. Overall, it's a decent hotel. read more

I have stayed in McCall a few times in the past couple of years. This is a great place if you looking for somewhere to crash for the night. If you go in with the mindset that it is a Holiday Inn and not the Hilton, then I think you will be pleasantly surprised. The lobby can be a little overwhelming if you aren't expecting it, but it is called the "Hunt Lodge" so a room full of taxidermy shouldn't be that far off base, right? Rooms are always clean and well maintained. I believe they just finished a remodel of their rooms, as the room we stayed in this time smelled like fresh paint and all of the decor seemed brand new. Their indoor hot tub/pool area is inviting. The hot tub is HUGE you could throw a party for 20 in it easily. Have not tried the pool. I think the most impressive thing about this hotel is their complementary breakfast. It honestly has something for everyone. It is quite the spread of options. They have this really cool pancake maker and blows me away every time. All kinds of cute little condiments, and make we want to be a clepto and take them home for later use. :) If you would rather visit "The Pancake House" (see my review for them too), they are right across the street. read more

A good friend of ours got married on Thanksgiving in Idaho. So we had to find a hotel. The hotel selection in McCall is limited, but the area is beautiful. It had been snowing for a few days by the time we got there and everything was covered. It was beautiful. We arrive at the hotel and it looks like a log Cabin. There are bear sculpture out front and has a very homey feeling. I walked into the lobby and was greeted by a very nice women. She checked us into our room and told us the closest door to park at. Our room was nice, nothing spectacular, but the bed was comfy and there was a great view. The have a nice continental breakfast. The breakfast had you standard cereal, coffee, bagels, but also had eggs, muffins, yogurt, fruit, waffles, and some other nice items to have for breakfast. They serve coffee all day and the coffee is pretty good. They have an indoor pool and a decent workout room. The staff was all very nice. If I am ever in McCall again I would stay here. read more

The Hotel is very nice and is new, lobby is attractive, people friendly, check in went smoothly. It has a very nice indoor pool and a large hot tub, with lots of kids. Once we got to our room, we found a very nice clean, modern room with a very confortable king bed, desk and a nice bathroom consisting of granite shower walls and counters. the Internet was free and very good, and the TV had plenty of stations including HBO. the heater/AC unit was quite and worked well every in below zero temps In the morning we had an ok breakfast which was also included. the hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar, too bad for that, it should! I'm hard to please with hotels, and this one was surprisingly wonderful. (Holiday Inns aren't always... well, you know.) The main draw was their pet-policy. No pets. I get that people love their fur babies, but I prefer to stay in a room with floors that aren't contaminated with years of dog urine. But that's just me. The room was very nice and clean, but what made our stay extra enjoyable was the pool. It was very clean, with a large hot tub. Big enough to allow you to avoid the inevitably awkward small-talk with other travelers you are often forced into making in smaller tubs. They also pump the pool area with wonderful, warm air. Great for cold Mccall weather. The continental breakfast was far above average, with tons of drink choices, a pancake maker, lots of breads and muffins, along with Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. Fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, and other mainstays as well. The shining star was the fresh scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausages. The area was super clean, and the bustling employee kept the food coming with a smile. We'll definitely stay here next time. read more

Oh, where do I begin! I have never been more excited to receive a survey and have the opportunity to give my feedback on an experience. Brett, an individual working at the front desk upon our initial arrival, was atrocious. My guest and I arrived at approximately 2:15pm. We walked into the lobby, weighted down in bags and stood at the front desk, staring at Brett, while he stood in front of us working on paperwork. There is an impossible chance that he did not hear us come in. We stood for about a minute before my guest got his attention. His first statement was not "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see you!" or "Welcome to the Holiday Inn!" it was a dismal, lackluster, "Can I help you?"--obviously you can help us. We didn't just stop in for free coffee. I explained that we wanted to check in. His response was "Well your rooms won't be ready yet so come back later." Brett didn't offer to check our luggage. He didn't offer up a time to return, nor did he apologize for the inconvenience. We packed up our luggage and left, assuming that we should return around three. My guest and I returned at approximately 3:10. We walked in, same as before, loaded up with luggage. Brett was now talking to another individual--a blonde girl--and neither associate greeted us. After standing for about a minute AT the desk, with the two associates immediately in front of us, we were FINALLY greeted by Brett with a "Can I help you?" -- I find it absolutely jaw-dropping that he could not remember us from less than an hour ago and that he STILL was lacking a welcoming attitude. At this point, I was upset. If you plan on running a profitable business, you have to treat your customers with compassion and an "I can help you" attitude. This includes welcoming them to your establishment and acknowledging them in a timely manner. Brett demonstrated the complete opposite. As someone who has spent countless hours in Priority Club hotel rooms to earn points to use on this trip, I was absolutely let down and infuriated by my experience. After this visit, I would have been more willing to PAY for a room elsewhere then to use the points I had earned. read more

We stayed here for several days this summer. Never again. For $140 a night we got a room with no fridge, a broken closet door we couldn't get shut, no microwave, a toilet that kept sticking open, a big wet spot on the carpet that took 2 days to dry(don't want to know what it was) a coffee pot next to the toilet, a malfunctioning A/C that never seemed to work right, and a broken door latch (it appeared the door had been kicked in at one point judging by the way it sat crooked in the jam and the broken latch). Sorry about the run on sentence, but this place just really set the tone for our stay in McCall. In general things didn't go well, and to have so many little things at the hotel just made it worse. There was no respite. Staff in the dining area was rude, and actually pushed us out of the dining area when closing time rolled around. No "excuse me", no "we are closing could you step outside"... nothing. Just a gentle pushing from behind and the doors were closed. In general they REALLY didn't look very happy. Then again, if I had to spend 4 hours of my morning in a room full of screaming, ill behaved kids running amok, I wouldn't be very chipper either. That aside, it's still your job to provide service with a relative pleasant demeanor. Even if your customers ARE demanding pretentious douchebags who don't control their kids. Front counter staff at check in was fine. They seemed overly excited that we were there. Kind of weird actually, but whatever. We had spent a lot of time on the road, and were tired. The bed and pillows were soft and nice. A special request about room assignments was completely ignored. When reservations were made she noted it in the reservation. So I'm not sure what happened. It was done and would have been a mess to fix after the fact. So we just lived with it. Check out was a nightmare. Some jerk cut me off at the counter, I'm guessing he was much more important than I was. So I stood waiting while the clerk had to juggle Mr. Jerk's credit cards or discount or something. Stood there for a good 15 minutes until somebody came out of the back to help. All I needed was to drop off my key cards and get a receipt. Took less than a minute. Clerk apologized twice, but I would have thought she would have asked for help earlier. General appearance was okay in the common areas. Our room seemed to be... ummm "well used" as previously mentioned. The back wall outside could use some attention. The siding appears to be crumbling off. The bathrooms next to the conference rooms took a beating and I don't think anybody even cleaned them during our 5 days there. In short, I will not go there again. I should have gone with Best Western like we usually do. Our prior experience with Holiday Inn Express in other cities has been really good. Not sure what the deal is with this particular one, but I can't say as I recommend it. read more

I stayed at The Hunt Lodge over Labor Day weekend and it was awesome. When we arrived to check in, their employee, Brett, was there to greet us and was as kind and friendly to us as anybody could ask for or expect. The hotel itself was very pretty and clean, the hunt theme was tastefully done. They have a really nice pool with plenty of towels available for everybody. The room we had was nice, good water pressure in the shower (usually a deal breaker for me) and clean. The continental breakfast was available every day and stocked up all the time never running out of anything. I cant wait to go back there again. read more

This place only gets one star, because the Assistant Manager is an absolute sweetheart. Can't say the same of the Manager. I contacted the hotel on October 7th to ask about a block of rooms. I have been trying to get that block of rooms over the last month, and then on November 6th, the Manager asks me to change my wedding day because of an "old contact that came up". So basically, he renewed a contract after a "quick decision" as he puts it in the e-mail, to go with them instead of my wedding party. Because he refused to contract us for the block of rooms, there is nothing Corporate can do about making the reservations. But the case is being investigated. That's after I spent hundreds on invitations, in good faith, that we would have rooms. So in a nutshell, don't book here, don't stay here. They don't care about their guests or events. They just care about who has the deepest pockets. read more

My family came up their for a vacation. We chose holiday inn express because we found a good deal for a night before we were able to use our resort room. I brought a bunch of food. I stored some in the fridge that wouldn't fit in my cooler so it would stay cold for the night. When we checked out, I forgot to check the fridge. I remembered about an hour later and came back for my 18 eggs, large strawberries, 6 large avacados, garlic and garlic container, sauces, mayo, and mushrooms. When I spoke to the front desk, he gave me a look that told me he was surprised to see me and he immediately said, before I even checked in the bag, this is all the cleaning staff gave us... I was suspicious from that bc it seemed like he was hiding something. I looked in the bag only to find mayo, sauces, and mushrooms. They stole $20 worth of groceries and didn't even offer anything in return. The hotel has our contact number, as that's required at check in. The least they could've done was called when they noticed a full fridge after checkout. I'm very disappointed. That's what I get for using holiday inn express I guess. read more

This hotel was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect much from a Holiday Inn. We were greeted by a very pleasant staff and after a quick check in we made it up to our room. The rooms were tastefully decorated, very clean and our two queen beds had multiple pillows labeled either firm or soft. A nice touch. After a quiet and comfortable night sleep we found a slip of paper had been slid under our door which provided the expected temperature for the day, breakfast hours of the complimentary breakfast (which was a nice touch...not four star quality but very nice none the less. And it's free. Don't like it? Head out and buy breakfast elsewhere.) and a traffic update about bridge construction taking place south of McCall. The entire staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms tastefully decorated. We'll be back. read more

We had a wonderful Romantic Getaway at the Holiday Inn Express Hunt Lodge!! Jacob and his staff are always so friendly. We love chatting with Jacob and Eizaak. They treat us like family. They are always there to take care of any need we have. We have stayed at the Hunt Lodge many times since they opened years ago. In fact we like it so much that we have stayed there 6 different weekends just this fall and winter. Our room was awesome with a huge bedroom with king bed, hot tub and TV. The front sitting room had a desk, TV, couch and kitchen area. The king bed is so comfortable that I sleep better at the Hunt Lodge than at home. Everything is always spotless. The pool and hot tub area is checked regularly to make sure it's clean and that there are always fresh towels. For breakfast there are lots of yummy choices and everything is always kept stocked. The breakfast area is available for groups to bring in food and eat or for just a cozy afternoon playing games by the fireplace. The Hunt Lodge is within walking distance to several restaurants. In fact Eizaak recommended a pizza place that was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hunt Lodge to anyone visiting the McCall area. read more

Our room was very nice and clean but the staff in the lobby were terrible. The guy would not even check to see if our room was cleaned so that we could check In Earlier than 3:00. He just said they won't allow it. Unreal. I've never been told that from any hotel before. Paid $225 for our room which is way too high for what it is but you would think they would at least offer better customer service at those rates! read more

My husband and I stayed here for our first night away from home since we had our 4 month old son. The beds were very comfortable, the staff was very friendly & helpful. The guy at the front desk even turned up the hot tub for us since we were the only ones using it.
