    Room price for 2 nights
    Laura B.

The room was spacious and clean. The hot tub was full of foam? The paint on the walls in our room needed to be touched up. I think that the price of the room for 2 nights was very high. The one thing that could have been better is that their tapas restaurant could have been open on the 4th. It was nice that they had breakfast available but my food was cold.

Great hotel! This hotel is newly updated. The beds are comfortable. The pillows are great and linens clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious with little fireplaces, good size televisions, and a great vanity area for getting ready. The downstairs restaurant has yummy fresh food at a very reasonable price. Staff is very attentive and hospitality is great. The included free breakfast was great, the coffee was strong and definitely hit the spot considering there's no other coffee shops and cascade.. My only complaint is that the walls are kind of thin and I think there were some large groups next to my room. But that's nothing some travel earplugs can't fix. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

Mixed review here as something's were good and others not so good. Barbara on the night staff was excellent however the staff working the night desk the first two days of our stay were rune and unprofessional. Asked for some feather free pillows and the world fell apart. Lady was rude "We gots what you have in your room and that's that, this ain't the Ritz" her exact words. Hats off to the maintenance tech, unfortunately I forgot his name but he was the one who could actually accommodate the request after speaking with him the next morning. Free breakfast was decent and had quite a few selections. Over all not a bad place to stay in cascade. Better than the other options.

My fiancé and I wanted to get away from the city for the night so we booked a room at NoBo. First impression of this place was good until we got in line to check in. We over heard the person in front of us having an issue with their "3rd party" reservation and we both had a gut feeling we were going to have some issues. And we did! We booked the Deluxe King Suite through Expedia which we purposely got because of the Tub that was pictured. We got to our room to see NO TUB. So we went back downstairs to talk with the lady and new guy she was training. She told us that "every room was booked" that night and that she couldn't give us the room we paid for. So the "manager" came out, that was no help. She placed the blame for the confusion on the "3rd Party" app and said the best she could do was comp us a meal at the restaurant in the hotel. We already had dinner plans in McCall so that was of no use to us. So we called Expedia to find out what happened with our room. Expedia put us on hold, called the hotel, and about 10 minutes later, put the blame on the hotel and said the hotel would give us a 50% discount on our stay. At this time all other hotels in the area were booked so we agreed and said yes to the discount. We got back from McCall around 8:00 pm and noticed that this hotel had some unique guest as well as drunk guest which made my fiancé feel uncomfortable. We wanted to get some snacks, which they do have a good and affordable snack area, but we got inline behind this group of three young men that were having the same check in issues. We over heard the same lady that said they had no more room tell them, "you got the last room of the night". So which was it? After waiting 10 minutes to pay for our snacks we headed up stairs and noticed they had buckets and trash cans in the stairwell collecting water from leaking roofs. They also had no ice in the ice maker. For a place charging $300+ a night at full capacity you'd think this place would have its act together. The next morning we went to check out the breakfast room. It was decent but they were out of coffee, the juice bar didn't have any juice and the line was long and messy. Overall... don't waste your money here. We will never come back and there are better places you can stay for $300 plus a night.

Don't let the other reviews fool you- this hotel was so cute and the room was so spacious. Our room was huge! It had a fire place and a great little living area. The hotel has a pool as well as other amenities that we didn't get to try, but we will definitely stay here again when we are back up in the area

Over all it was a great stay room. Everything is clean and staff is friendly. Breakfast is good as well.

We farm and ranch and are not uppity people. I used to rodeo many, many years ago and stayed in some pretty questionable places, but now I can honestly say that this is by far, the worst place I have ever stayed. It wasn't worth $50.00 per night, let alone $170.00 per night. By the time the owner remembered to call me back, we were already being charged for the next day and she said it was too late to leave without keeping the money for that night and would not refund us, so we stayed. From the moment we walked in, the room reeked of musty mildew. It was so strong we went to the store to buy air freshener, but it barely helped -- the odor was baked into the room. The shower had visible mold all around the floor and base of the walls. It was black in some spots, and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was completely impractical -- no counter space to put toiletries, and no closet or dresser anywhere in the room to store clothes. We were forced to live out of our suitcases on the floor. The chairs look like they were throwaways taken from a dumpster. The cabinet above the stove is grease stained from not being cleaned. The sponge for the kitchen sink was wet and moldy. Even the pot scrubber was separated and needed to be thrown away and replaced. There are no knives, spoons or forks. One of the worst things we found was in the bathroom cup holder: a used razor blade cover was underneath the stacked plastic cups, and the bottom of the holder was filled with what looked like dried toothpaste spit. Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Even the light fixtures had mold speckled across the inside and cover lenses. Everything about the room felt damp, dirty, and neglected. There was food under the edge of the bed, clearly stating that the floors had not been swept in some time. We texted the owner pictures of everything -- including the mold, the razor blade cover, and the filthy cup holder -- and received no apology, no offer to switch rooms, no refund, no discount. Nothing. To top it off, we went to get ice at 1:00 p.m. and found the office locked up with the "OPEN" sign still lit, and no one answering the door or phone. This wasn't just a dirty room -- it was an actively unhealthy and unsafe environment. It's clear the owners do not care about cleanliness, guests, or even basic hygiene standards. In the email we received for checkout, the owner asked us to leave a review so here it is. I wish I could attach photos.. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

The highlight of the trip was the golf course and their excellent guest service, along with Patrick at the outside golf course bar. We arrived and learned we didn't get the correct room with any kind of view, and the ski lift is broken. I bought the trip insurance but I don't think it covers disappointment. The whole place is CASHLESS. Trying to buy a hot dog on the golf course was annoying as her internet wasn't working, but thankfully she let us play through and pay for it on our way back by on the 13th hole. The only place for dinner Wednesday was Seven Devils. You have to have a credit card to buy a beer and you have to pour it yourself, and pay for the warm foam. It's a ripoff. There was a kid sitting at the actual bar. We each had the chicken gyro that had overcooked, dry, stringy chicken thighs. Our server said she loved them but usually got steak. That option wasn't on the menu and no offer to fix it when we said the chicken was bad. Our beer was supposed to be charged to our gift card, but they charged it to our credit card. Rendezvous was supposedly open Thursday but we were told we probably wouldn't get reservations and we went into Donnelly to eat instead. At the "resort", the pizza place, the diner, and midway restaurant all closed. Didn't check the creamery. Most of the shops seemed closed. They advertise it as a resort with dining and shopping but that isn't the reality. There is no where for a sit-down breakfast. The coffee shop has breakfast sandwiches that are served on a soggy English muffin or plain bagel with no bagel upgrade option as they come premade and are reheated in a toaster over. Since our room water is brown, I wanted a coffee hopefully made with better water and real cream. The website says it's 99 cents for drip but when you get there it is $2.99 for drip. Our floor is sticky and dirty, which is especially frustrating since we pay so much for cleaning. I can't walk barefoot. The clock on the oven started flashing in the middle of the night, after I thought I had set it, and nothing seems to work to set it correctly. I had to cover it with a towel. We set our thermostat to 68 before we left for golfing and dinner, and our room was 74 when we got back and it has a funny smell, like flooring chemicals or something. Tried to turn it down our first night in the middle of the night and couldn't get it to work right then either. It seems very finicky. Our toilet runs constantly but doesn't make noise, just wastes tens of gallons of water a day. There is a dog that barks every time we come and go, but thankfully it is quiet at night. I have emailed the check-in office about all of it and have not heard back. I tried to call and there was no answer. I requested a partial refund and have not heard back either. For two nights our room (studio, not a suite), with no view, brown water, and a funny smell with a toilet that runs all the time was about $650 with fees. Our golfing with club rental was about $460. We spent a lot of money here and expected a whole lot more than what we got for over one thousand dollars in costs. Also, there is no where to buy bottled water after 7 pm. Sevin Devils gave me some in to go cups from the soda gun, but it had the same tint as our room water. I did find a water bottle filler that had a filter and the water looks clearer.

Debra, the…read moreowner/innkeeper, has expanded her flock of goats and now is mastering the art of goat cheese and milk-making, selling her creative chevre combinations at local farmers' markets and offering advice to would-be artisan farmers (or wannabes) along with her signature ranch house breakfasts (think fresh eggs, hash browns, melon, sausage, and excellent dark rich coffee). She's also a fountain of knowledge and great conversationalist, and her elegant ranch home quickly feels familiar within the first few minutes of arrival (once you open the gate and bounce along the gravel driveway to the barnside parking). This time, I decided to get creative and took a sunrise hike before breakfast to the summit of nearby Council Mountain (8126 ft.) in the Payette National Forest. Admittedly, it was a bit of an adventure, with fallen Ponderosa pines (the good Samaritans have chainsaws in their trucks up here), black bear cubs, a great grey owl, kestrels, and a herd of free-ranging cattle, and I didn't get back until 11:30 am, so my breakfast was an early lunch. But the chance to see the mountains from an exquisitely rugged vantage point made the 12-mile morning trek worth the effort. The food and company that Debra provided after were most welcome. You don't actually need to do a hike like that to have a good stay at the Elkhorn (or bring along French wine to drink on the patio while watching the lightning and rains come in at night). You could just hang out for a while and soak in the hip ranchhouse atmosphere while goats, horses, sheep, mules, chickens, dogs, and other creatures wander about. It's definitely a pioneering sort of place - a 21st century version of a Western American classic, with WiFi and goat cheese included.

Let me first say, I'm not generally a fan of B&B's. My generalized experience has been that I feel like I'm intruding on all of the stuffed animals that have taken up residence in a bedroom. Being a man, I generally feel out of place and confused about where to sit, and what exactly I'm allowed to touch. In the case of the Cambridge House, I actually feel like I'm at home. The house is beautifully appointed and recently renovated, so it has all of the charm of the 1916 Craftsman that it is, without all of the pains of scalding water and creaking walls that I've come to expect from older homes. There are many cozy nooks in the house and finding a nice place to read a book is a true pleasure. Breakfast is prompt, tasty, and simple and the proprietor, Sheila, is a gem. It has some nice modern conveniences like free WiFi that make it easy for me to get work done while up visiting family. There are five lovely rooms, some pictures of which I have posted here. The rates are ridiculously reasonable. In short, if you're in this part of the world, this is the only place worth staying within 100 miles. We've been coming up here for almost ten years to visit family and we've tried every hotel and B&B within that distance. This is without a doubt the finest accommodation in the area, and is in a beautiful setting with some nice walks in all directions. Highly recommend anyone traveling through, or looking to get away for a quiet weekend. You won't regret it!
