Last minute stay on the way home from up north, so I called the front desk from the road and....rooms were available. Minutes later we were checked in and comfy in our room. So easy! Fair pricing, clean room, comfy beds, plush pillows, warm and cozy night. One of the best showers (great water pressure) in a hotel in a while. In the AM we had a complimentary breakfast before heading out. Breakfast was satisfying. We liked that they offered hot scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage via warming pans ...a la catering style in addition to all the regular breakfast make it yourself options like toast, waffles, yogurt, etc. Nice! read more

Great place to stay.Not called best western anymore... newly updated and renovated. A little sad that there is no view of the water anywhere. Hotel seemed clean enough and was dead. We were able to check in early but had to ring the bell 3 times at the front desk for someone to help us. Surprise $40 pet fee and on top of that they charge 15% tax on said pet fee. What a joke. When we asked the front desk about the 15% tax on a FEE they couldn't give an answer why it was being charged. Beds and pillows are absolutely awful. We couldn't sleep at all we were so uncomfortable along with our room being right next to the laundry room and ice machine and had dumb people up all night slamming doors doing their laundry. Went from a $165 stay to $211 with the surprise pet fee and extra tax. We were planning on staying here in October but I will 100000% be cancelling that reservation and going elsewhere. If this was an amazing stay I wouldn't complain about the money but the quality is not there whatsoever for $211 for one night! read more

We stayed at this Best Western in early August, 2024. It was mostly good except a car alarm on an old pick-up kept going off all night in their parking lot. We mentioned it to the desk staff and other staff. The response we got was the pick-up is not a guest at the motel, " some guy that parks it there and he's not a guest" ( in their parking lot!) and they had no control over it. The following night its alarm did not go off. I saw someone working on the truck later that day. Problem solved, except: I mentioned the issue on a review Best Western sent me and got a response from a "Jessica Points" that was basically a lie and , of course, it was a "no reply" e-mail. Ms. "Points" wrote that the vehicle belonged to a former guest and that person parked it there while on a rafting trip. ?? Really?!! That person must have been on a trip that lasted several weeks and no one at the motel seemed to know it. Who worked on the vehicle? I guess she had to make up that lie to cover her rear to the higher ups. I know a lot of people in McCall. That truck was there for weeks in their parking lot but that's all I'm going to state. We might have considered staying at the Best Western again but not after being lied to by "Jessica Points". read more

"So disappointed....." We went for 4 nights. We thought the rooms would be like the Best Western that we stayed at in Hood River, Oregon, last year. It was not. We were so disappointed and after the first night we wanted to try another hotel but it would have cost us to leave on short notice. The room was small for two queen beds, website can be deceiving. No chairs to sit on except the desk chair, no table to eat at if you wanted. It was a strange set up to us. Even in a studio room we've always had chairs to sit on and a small table to eat on. I decided to establish a scale for rating hotels and motels. I apply the same scale for "luxury" hotels as well as economy motels as I stay in all types depending on where I am traveling and the purpose. After cleanliness there is no particular order. 1. Cleanliness. The room seemed clean and did not smell. 2. Comfort of bed. It was very. 3. Comfort of pillows. Are there both firm and soft available. We brought our own. 4. How new is the room decor and fixtures. Everything seemed contemporary. 5. Quality of room. This includes size, temperature, smell, lighting. Good 6. Quality of bathroom. This includes size, lighting, ventilation. There were two vanities which was nice. The bathtub drained very slowly. 7. Bathroom amenities. These include magnifying mirror, presentation, quantity and quality of toiletries. Softness of tissue and towels. There was a magnifying mirror and a black makeup towel. Both were welcome. 8. Friendliness of staff. Helpful and friendly. 9. Noise. Road noise, adjacent room noise, air conditioner noise. None. 10. Price. Was it worth the price I paid all things considered? This includes proximity to conferences and activities. If you need a place to stay in McCall you cannot go wrong staying here. read more

This place is horrible and I am sharing our experience broadly. This place was gross and not worth what we paid for. Our room smelled like pee. We asked to move rooms and told nothing was available. We gagged our way through that night. The pool was gross with film and bandaids in the water. The shower and bathroom were out of order. The hot tub was looked gross. Our room had mold in the bathroom along the shower, which didn't drain properly. When we complained again the next day we were moved to another room and told it was used the night before. What the heck! I would never recommend this place nor stay here again. What a total rip off. The pictures online did not represent the room we had. Jessica's manager can call us to discuss. Stayed here overnight an thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Customer service was really good, everyone including the house keepers were very kind and friendly. Rooms were standard hotel rooms but the beds were very comfortable, in room coffee was good and it also had a very nice shower head with lots of pressure. I really appreciate the pool being opened until 12am. It includes a nice pool, jacuzzi and dry sauna. No kids after 10pm so that allows a couple hours of adult time. The day we went it was snowing a little but the sidewalks had ice melt which I really appreciated. There is a 24 hour gym that had a good amount of equipment for being a hotel. I got up earlier than most that day and the 24 hour coffee area had let their coffee get cold. I quickly asked the front counter staff and they had fresh coffee out within five minutes. Breakfast is open from 6:30am - 9:30am. Standard stuff but they had a fresh omelette station which was really good. The lady making the eggs was super nice and it was really nice having a fresh meal away from home. All in all, great stay. If there is a negative, not sure if this is normal but during the middle of the night, the lobby area was cold so not sure if they lower the heat while everyone is sleeping. We stayed at the BW in McCall and had a good experience overall....the room had a couple of repair issues with the toilet and the bathtub but they were fixed...the room was clean, as well as the pool area...however, the trash bin in the front was full for an entire day and the snack machines were empty the whole weekend...the HIGHLIGHT of our stay was the breakfast, the omelette guy was AMAZING!!! Nice, clean, well maintained place. Room is spacious with vanities both in and just outside the bathroom - nice. Wall mount HVAC unit very quiet which is a HUGE bonus. Location is okay. I'm on a business trip so, location isn't as important to me as it would be if I were on vacation. My guess is the more desirable area is closer to the lake. Sitting here looking at the multiple paint colors in the room (3 - accent wall, walls, ceiling) are done very professionally. Nice clean lines between colors with no bleed over. Tells me there's attention to detail and they have it done right. One of my pet peeves is a TV sleep timer. Like so many places, it's not accessible using the remote but is using the buttons on the side of the TV. Overall, a nice place with 'pride of ownership' throughout. read more

NOT stay here. Dirty room. Holes in wall. They charge an early check in fee if you are there anytime before 4pm. The breakfast is really weak. The pool and hot tub were too cols to enjoy. The hotel is not near anything except the highway. Tried to change reservation to one night instead of two given how gross it was and they were not accommodating and charged me a full second night. Unfortunately some of the rooms on the ground floor are close to wending and ice machines which make them very noisy. Around two a.m. all the machines started to make noise and it continued the whole night. It was like sleeping in a plane. There is no way the management is not aware of this. Also the hotel wasn't full so I was not happy that the receptionist gave us the worst room (room n. 125). I would recommend staying down the road for half price and a better room. Another issue was the pool - it was very very chlorinated. We ended up not going again because we could smell chlorine everywhere even after showering. It would be better to change the water regularly instead of dosing it in chemicals. I hope that some authorities check, if the levels of chlorine are still safe for humans in this hotel. Again my advice: Go to a cheaper better hotel without a pool and go swimming in one of the local hot springs. read more

Jessica the manager and her team are on point. They treat you as family. Answer any question and go out of their way to be accommodating. The property is in great condition. This was a delightful place to spend a weekend birthday getaway for my wife. The manager, Jessica was on duty when we checked in and made us feel wonderfully welcome. The manager on duty, John, when we checked out was equally friendly. The hotel was reasonably priced and the room itself was wonderful with a gas fireplace and a jetted tub in the main part of the room. We never even felt the need to use the jacuzzi or pool downstairs because it was so cozy in our room. Our breakfast, which we picked up at the front desk, was excellent even though, due to the pandemic changes, we could not enjoy it in traditional fashion. The hotel and our room were very clean. This is our second stay at a Best Western this winter, and both times we were very impressed. I will no longer stay at other chain establishments. read more

Out air-conditioning didn't work in our room and all they said was I'm sorry did you turn it down to 61° and leave it on constant fan. This is what they said as I was checking out. Not as I was checking in. Also the TV was broken and that took two hours to fix and nobody seem to care about anything at the hotel. This place is a dump and it's run by people who don't know what they're doing. The only thing they said was I'm sorry no nothing like they could care less. Arrived at 4:30 PM on a Tuesday in late Feb, The parking lot is nearly empty. I suppose it is not the busy season yet. We are not here for the skiing or snow activities, just passing through, and I hear the snow is not very deep recently this winter. We seemed like the only people there! There is a free breakfast available from 6 to 10 AM. There is a pool and a hot tub which worked wonderfully, didn't have any problems as mentioned in other reviews. And, there were chair lifts for handicap accessibility into both spa and pool. King room is done with an interesting triangular room, not sure if all Kings are that way or if it is just because we were in a "bend" in the hotel floorplan/layout. Quite spacious, actually. Maybe it's bigger than the usual King room, I don't know. They have evening fresh-baked cookies too, like a lot of the hotels seem to do nowadays. read more

Negatives: we were guaranteed adjoining rooms by phone but were told upon check in that was not available or something that should have been promised to us at all. We were never greeted when returning each day. No apology when telling this to the manager and just an offer of extra points in return. Overall if you're just looking for a place to sleep in a resort town and a less than great stay then this place will be fine. read more

Great place. We stayed here late on a snowy night and got a jacuzzi suite. Awesome! Big, spacious room, everything was super clean, the staff was very friendly and easy to deal with. The continental breakfast was hands down the best continental breakfast I've had in a hotel that wasn't super expensive. Good place to stay in McCall. Pool is great, rooms are comfy. I will say the room key thing is an issue, went through 4 different room keys at various times of our 24 hr stay. One worked for the room but not the pool area as it should and the others just kinda timed out too early. A tad annoying. I placed my backpack on top of the ardmore to get it out of the way and it was taken off VERY DUSTY. I guess housekeepers are cutting some corners there (second floor room, all the way down the hall). I will say the breakfast is great, waffles, eggs, sausage muffins, coffee, juice and tons of other stuff. Great deal for the $136 we paid. read more

We booked this room a few months ago, and was not told that during our stay construction would be going on...I don't mean a little banging...this is loud saws, and power tools going all day in the rooms below. Sounds like its right in our room. We can't relax in our room until after 5:00pm. Constructions begins at 8:00am...outside our window are dumpsters and laborers dumping debris and swearing f---this and f---that. Paint cans piled up. I talked to the lady at the front desk, she said she can not do anything and to talk to the front desk manager. I talked to the front desk manager, he asked if we booked online...I told him I called in and reserved. He said they would have told us there would be construction...I told him, no one told us that!!!! If I knew there was construction going on, we would have booked elsewhere. He said he would check to see when we booked to see if what I said was consistent. What...basically saying I'm not telling the truth. No compensation, no sorry for the noise. There were other people complaining as well...I was not the only customer upset. This is not a Plus this is a Best Western Minus. BTW the breakfast is very minimal, not the omelets that were advertised.. read more

Although the hotel was ok, customer service at front desk was horrible. I checked in for a 3 night stay indicating I did not need the third night. Having given them over 48 hours notice that I wouldn't need the third night, their response was, " well you have to pay for it anyway whether you sleep here or not". They indicated I needed to give them a 48 hour notice prior to check in to make changes. I indicated the night I am canceling is more than 48 hours away. They said it didn't matter. Per their police all changes have to be made 48 prior to check in and that I have to pay no matter what. So instead of giving them a 5 star review praising them on how their customer service went above and beyond to accommodate me, I have to give them a 1 star review because all they care about is my $130. I come to McCall every year but this will be the last time I ever stay at the Best Western in McCall. read more

Our room had a drip from the light above the jacuzzi in our suite that we reserved for 3 nights over valentines weekend 2020. We were going to address it in the morning because we had packed and driven all day and were tired when at 10:15 pm the ceiling started flooding the room uncontrollably. Woken from a light sleep confused and scared I rushed my dog to the truck while my fiancé went to let the front desk know that we had a serious issue. The staff seemed unconcerned telling us they had no vacancy for the night. I asked if we could get our money refunded seeing as we would have to drive home 2 1/2 hours to Kuna, ID. The front desk staff had no response as to whether or not we would be refunded. When we asked that they get the manager on the phone, they "managed" to find a king room for us to sleep in for the night. We have no way of knowing at this point if this will even be of concern when the manager gets in tomorrow morning. Avoid this hotel at all costs. read more

Beautiful lodge decorated for the holidays, clean, and a friendly staff that went out of their way for our group. The manager Jessica is fantastic! The pool and hot tub are both wheelchair accessible with a lift, making it so my sister could independently swim. The beds were comfy and the views out the windows in the morning were photogenic. Breakfast was delish with an omelet bar and the kids loved the taters and gravy. The employees made eye contact, smiled and were polite. Staff not trained/no proper security available to handle obnoxiously loud occupants running up & down hallways, slamming doors, screaming in the middle of the night. Offered room upgrade and an unconfirmed free stay, then failed to refund our money when travel company asked for their approval to do so. General Manager did not return phone calls made regarding negative issues during our hotel stay. Indoor pool is freezing cold for winter visitors! There are other great hotels in McCall!
