Traveled here for a quick weekend, holiday get away since I had never explored the Providence area before......which it is only about 15-20 min away from this location. I don't know about room prices since I was able to use Priority Club points to pay for the entire stay. The hotel itself isn't exactly near anything in particular unless you are staying here for business for something like the CVS headquarters. There is a decent, old style diner behind the hotel and I would have loved to have tried it but breakfast at HIE is always great and free in the morning. Parking lot was ample and had a ton of spaces, it's always nice to keep an eye on your wheels from the room which I had a view of. We were able to check in 20 minutes after the allowable time of 3:00. I wanted to get there early to have a full day of adventure. The lady was extremely pleasant at the front desk and answered any questions we had about the area and our room. Problems did begin immediately upon entering the room, however. The first was that the TV wasn't working. No biggie, the cleaning people had knocked out the cable wire. I looked myself at all the plugs and they seemed fine so I couldn't fix it myself, the maintenance guy was in our room 10 minutes after I called the front desk to take a look at it and it took him all of 30 sec to actually fix the problem. Then, upon pulling back the sheets....we discovered a bunch of tiny, curly hairs all over the sheets, GROSS! Of course it's bothersome and a hassle, but the front desk immediately gave us another room right next door and we had the keys and moved all of our belongings within minutes. I understand issues can arise at a hotel and the stars for how the situation is handled at the time more than the cleanliness of the rooms themselves. Besides, there were zero issues with our new room so A+ to the front desk staff for accommodating our issues so quickly. The breakfast in the morning was on par with all of the other HIE I have stayed at. Three different types of juice, coffee, milk, make your own pancakes, eggs, bacon, bagels, croissants, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, the list goes on and on. I actually tend to stay at Priority Club locations BECAUSE of the amazing breakfast, so kudos to them. We ate by the warm fireplace too, which was a better touch than I could have ever asked for. Four stars for being courteous, prompt and accommodating all at the same time, it's a decent location off the beaten path. read more

Lobby is destroyed but not the reason for the low rating. Having somebody repeatedly knocking on my room door at 10pm is. I could tell there were people staying here and dealing drugs. I watched a guy come out of the hotel to a car that just parked and do a quick chat and leave. So the person beating on doors was trying to find the dope room. Not a classy hotel. Recently renovated crack den. They can prevent this if ownership wanted to. You lock all doors and only give access to card holders. So they must like the business. I won't be back. read more

My family and I went to this hotel yesterday. we have two small dogs. When we were checking in the person behind the desk was very rude to my father. they were like no pets allowed and was insulting my father and just being very rude and told us to get out of his hotel. On the wedsite it says pet friendly and also my dog is a service dog my sister is disabled. Whoever this person is I'm sorry but they should never work in the hotel business if you are going to be that rude to paying customers. My family and I are not very happy with that person and they should be fired. read more

This place is ridiculously overpriced and there were homeless and drug addicts everywhere. There was a brawl in the parking lot. I had to pay almost $300 a night, but there are bums living there on vouchers for free (or heavy discount). The whole building stinks and I didn't feel like my car or belongings were safe. read more

On October 14th, the night before my wedding, I checked myself into the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Providence-Woonsocket. I was provided my room key and room number by Dee. Upon going up to my room, I was found with a huge mess, wet paper towels everywhere and trash everywhere. Apparently there was a plumbing issue. Dee moved me to a new room, which "appeared" to be clean (key word: appeared). I stayed in that room that night. Upon waking up the next morning, I proceeded to get ready for my wedding day. Fast forwards to approximately 1pm, my hair and make up is being done, and I have my feet kicked up. My sister tells me my feet are BLACK literally BLACK as if I were running around in the dirt for hours, but I hadn't left the room. Immediately disgusted. My sister washes my feet. Fast forward to getting into my wedding dress at 2pm with the help of my mom. We hear a knocking on the door, it's housekeeping saying they need to clean the room. My bridesmaids explain to them that we're getting ready for a wedding and we'll be out of the room soon, but aren't ready yet. We're told if we don't leave, my husband and I won't return to a clean room that night because housekeeping ends at 3. My mother calls the front desk and says someone needs to clean the room when we leave, or we won't be paying for the room. Front desk rep proceeds to say "good luck not paying for the room, we've already charged you" and click. He hangs up on my mother. After spending way too much time arguing with the hotel, I demanded a call from the manager and I frantically rushed around not wanting to come back to a dirty room with my new husband, and I rushed out of the room, forgetting my earrings from my husband, my hair piece, my flower girls tiara, among other things. This ordeal not only causes me a great amount of stress (as if I didn't have enough of that on my wedding day) but it also resulted me in being 1 hour late to my own wedding. An hour I'll never get back. Upon leaving the hotel in my wedding dress to my wedding, I met Dee and told him how incredibly upset I was, before storming out, and in return I received a smirk and almost even a laugh. Fast forward to the end of my wedding night, my husband and I return and the room "appears" to be although, I'm sure the carpets are still filthy as trash. We checked out the next morning, and I asked the girl working the front desk to have the manager call me. Never got a call. Fast forward till today, after enjoying my honeymoon in Mexico, I call customer service and spoke to Ly to make her aware of what happened. I told her I wanted to speak to the DL. Not the manager who didn't care to call me after being requested to 2x. Not only does the manager not call me, Dee calls me, the incredibly rude individual I met with on my wedding day. I did not wish to speak with him and made that known. He transfers me to his manager, Nate; whom I also did not want to talk to, Nate calls me from his car, I'm on speaking having a difficult time hearing him. He says "I'm on my way to my Dr appointment, you asked that I call you and im calling you" he proceeds to give me the hotels side of the story, which was fabricated, mind you. Nate informed me that he was the one who cleaned my room and proceeded to tell you that I should "understand how he feels" having to do that. I proceeded to tell Nate that he works in the service industry, he chose this profession, and it is his job to make sure his paying customers are happy. I demanded a refund for my stay and was declined. I was met with an offer of $50. $50 for missing an hour of my wedding, filthy room(s), and unnecessary added stress to my wedding day. I explained that was a slap in the face, as we paid almost $500 for our stay. He offered me $100. Still not satisfied, so I decided to ask for just the refund of Friday night then, as that's the day that caused me the upmost stress and loss. He still refused. So hear I am typing this, feeling the upmost disgust of having to spend the night their in a dirty filthy room 2 nights in a row, and unimaginable amount of stress of missing an hour of my own wedding, around other losses that were acquired that day. The fact that the Holiday InnExpress doesn't feel my suffering is worth more than $100 is why I am writing this today, and why my husband and myself won't ever be staying there again. Check-in wasn't smooth. Nothing wrong with the young girl working the desk, it was with her co-worker. I was double charged for my room. Have to work that out. Next, I needed a snack a little later, and what should have taken 2 mins took 10 (new front desk person). Also, VERY strong odor of pot in the hallway. I informed the staff person, and she said, "there I no way I can find out who is doing it." Bed was ok. Hotel appears clean, though they are in the middle of renovations. What really irks me is how stingy they were about breakfast! Every HIE I've been to, served breakfast right up to end of service. They stopped 10 mins before the end of breakfast. So there was nothing to eat. Next, they appear to NEVER clean the reservoir tanks on the juice machine as the liquid was rank! VERY mildewy smelling. I couldn't get the smell and taste out of my mouth!! Yuck. And, what caused me to write this Yelp Review? No frickin' hot water for tea!! Update: while I was in the shower, someone from house keeping kept on banging on the door. Even after telling them I was in the shower! I also noticed "objects" in my soap...it looks recycled? Eewwwwww! These guys are soooo cheap! No leniency! I hate hotels like this! Makes my trips very stressful and unwelcome. read more

My stay t here was in early May for 6 nights. My stay was peaceful, the room was cleaned to my specs and the complimentary breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and management was attentive to any concerns that I had which was one and that was quickly addressed. I've visited the rec room and it was nice an peaceful working out on the treadmill for five days. There's a little color TV where you can watch while you burn off the calories. My understanding is that later during this year, they are going to replace all of their TV's with flat screen. read more

I was surprised it was as nice as it is. Woonsocket is far from a place most people would want to visit but sometimes you have to spend the night in a place. Our top floor room had a view of the car dealership but the room was clean and comfortable. The place was inhabited by a huge group of fat people who like to stand directly in front of the front door smoking. They seemed surprised when one would say excuse me while trying to leave the hotel. Maam you and your son are blocking a set of double doors! I was also surprised that there was a pool in the hotel. Needless to say the fat people didn't use it they were too busy blocking the front door smoking. read more

The stay was overall a decent experience. Disgusting at first. But, they redeemed themselves. Hospitality at the front desk was very nice. No complaints there. As a priority club member, other Holiday Inn Expresses has treated us with great services. I read in other reviews that there should have been complimentary cookies. I didn't see anything of the kind! Other times, I've been handed an entire bag of goodies. Nothing here. As soon as we checked into our room, the TV did not even work. I called for maintenance, and he showed up after a few minutes. As it turned out, housekeeping may have just knocked the cables out of place. I was very disgusted by the fact that there was foreign particle matter on top of the bed. Though, it could have been anything at all... it didn't give me a very good vibe of having "clean" sheets. I went ahead to see if there should be anything else to be suspicious of, and low and behold, lots of short little hairs all underneath the comforter. I've never seen that in a hotel before. I wasn't too sure whether to say something to the staff, and be one of "those" kinds of guests. But, I mustered up the courage to let them know. The hotel quickly got us into the room next door, and everything was better. Our new room was well kept and TV was working just fine. Complimentary breakfast was standard, but again... just nice. This is the first time that I have ever seen any hotel offer chocolate croissants. That made the entire experience complete! It's not that I won't come back to this particular Holiday Inn, it's really because there's nothing really to do in Woonsocket. This place only gets two stars because of its cleanliness. read more

This place is just great! The staff is super friendly and so accommodating. Rooms are impeccably clean, breakfast is put out with kindness and care. I had to stay in town unexpectedly for about a week. The staff and owner were so helpful and kind and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I was not too impressed by this hotel. I spend almost 100 nights a year in hotels and this one is below average. I got a non smoking room but someone had very recently smoked in the room. This hotel has everything a business traveler needs: Easy check in/out, clean rooms with a Keurig, complimentary breakfast, a self-serve coffe bar that's available all night, a pool, exercise room, washers and dryers, and plenty of space to meet and talk. I was amazed to hear it's being renovated this year, because it seems pretty current and solid. I'd also like to mention that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Most of the times I needed help, Jessica was working the Reception Desk, and could not have been nicer. Kudos to her, and I'll use this hotel again next time I'm in the area... (BTW, Patriots Diner, across the parking lot, has great food, huge portions, and is very affordable - now ya know!) The only reason I didn't give it five stars is for its location, it can be a little loud with trailer trucks and trains nearby. read more

But the cost is out of control ($240+/night for a holiday inn express, REALLY??!!) and the front desk staff is inflexible and a little testy. My daughter just left the Holiday Inn Express in Woonsocket extremely upset. Her room was robbed by housekeeping. She stayed 3 nights, the first day some of her sons clothes were missing! The second day their snacks, crackers, microwave food for the kids, all unopened, were gone!! She reported it to the front desk very upset that her stuff was touched and taken, she felt violated! She asked for it back, if it was thrown out she asked to see the garbage that's how upset they were. She only wanted light housekeeping and the beds made, they didnt ask for much and were robbed instead. Management had done nothing! to compensate her or ease her mind about safety in the rooms. The first day we checked in there was something gross on your sheets so we asked for them to be changed. We were told housekeeping left for the day so we would have to change them ourselves. That night we went to the pool where there was a lady IN the pool on her phone for over an hour, cursing in front of children. We had a great experience here. The service was very good, from the initial phone call to book the room to checking in and out. We ended up with a suite and it was very nice, with a huge shower and flat screen television, microwave, couch, and fridge. They also have a business center with free internet and printing. If you are hungry, there is a 24-hour diner right in the parking lot. They also have free breakfast. We probably will never be back in the area, but if we are we would definitely stay here again. read more

Not only is it ghetto, but there's no where to run if the hotel is overrun by brain eating zombies. hehe. Have stayed here a few times when near by. Staff are always friendly and quick. After driving a lot I like to check and get to my room. This hotel staff has always had my keys and paperwork ready. I prepaid for my room go to check in only to be told that my credit card was declined sorry they are booked!!! They did not reach out to me email me or anything. I called the bank they didn't even try to run my card!! The man and women working behind the counter was very rude!!! A bride's Worst nightmare I did a room block for about 30 rooms when arriving to the hotel all the rooms are scattered all around the hotel and floors. I booked my sweet months ago when checking in I noticed that they gave me a standard room but still charge me for a sweet room ,When I spoke to the lady upfront she said there's absolutely nothing they can do they were books she will call the manager to ask, that it look like someone change it in the computer for no reason. I want to know how someone is alone in a hotel and have no right to make it a decision? . This all happened on Saturday . Booked a room with two beds, got one bed. Room was awful. Desk clerk poor customer service.

In the middle of nowhere. We were forced to stay here by tournament rules. It was more than an hour away from URI, where we had games at 8am, but had to be there by 7. NOTHING TO DO HERE. Pool was out of order. Reservations were all screwed up. Shower bar broken so water spilled all over the floor when you showered. Housekeeping skipped us, how lovely after a long day of games no travel. We were charged $4 shy of the maximum charge allowed for the room, even though we were with a large group. Forgot our 5am wake up call so we could get to our game on time! NOT COOL. Also had no hot breakfast early enough to feed our boys before their early match. (However, Friday morning the kitchen lady DID make breakfast early enough which was nice.) Upon check out my husband (a high standing rewards member) complained about the discrepancies and was offered reward points instead of a nights stay, which as stated on a plaque in the bathroom, if you were not satisfied you would not be charged. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of he lady who hooked us up with breakfast Friday. It sucks we drove 11 hours to stay in such an out-of-the-way, crappy hotel with absolutely NOTHING to do, even swim! read more

Stayed here one night during a road trip. It was actually better than I expected. Ok, it is located across from a cemetary. I actually didn't know that since I arrived at night and didn't look out my window until the morning. But don't worry, the cemetary was nicely kept and no ghosts or zombies wandered over while I stayed there. The room was clean and not run down. The hot water was amazing. I'm used to waiting a while for the water to warm up, but it's like they have instant hot water. Turn on the shower, get hot water immediately. I wish I could have that in my house. Breakfast was pretty good considering it was a hotel continental breakfast. The eggs were not clumpy like other hotel breakfasts, but they must've mixed up the water to egg powder ratio because it didn't taste too much like egg. They also had bacon, french toast, warm cinnamon buns, cereal, boiled egg, yogurt, muffins, bananas, and a couple of other things. Pretty nice spread for a free breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I were ever in this area again. I did think the price was a little high for the middle of nowhere, though. read more
