We stopped in for a night before going to the local national park. Everyone here was super friendly and the room was very spacious and clean! Beds looked nice but my back didn't do well w them. We were in town for my grandmas funeral in Leakey and this was the closest city to stay in without having to pay and Arm and a leg. This was a nice Holiday inn. The beds were super soft and had no problems in our stay! As for the breakfast, everything was nice and fresh. I appreciated the eggBecause it tasted real and not powdery. The link sausage was probabky my favorite. Overall, I would recommend staying here. Everyone was friendly and no complaints here. read more

Really mixed bag here. The front desk staff are super friendly and the breakfast was ready before 6am, but the room itself hadn't been cleaned very well and the water pressure was pretty bad. Might stay across the street at Hampton Inn next time I'm in Uvalde to see if it's any better. read more

There were many pros and cons to this hotel. First off, the cons. There was gum stuck to the side of the headboard on the bed that I was sleeping on. The carpets were smelly and there were also stains all over the bedsheets and comforter I was using. If you're coming here and you expect people to be following the covid guidelines, such as wearing a mask and social distancing, then you're going to the wrong place. But with all this aside, the pros were that the restroom was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. When I asked for new sheets, the staff member that came apologized for the inconvenience and said they would tell someone immediately. read more

The hotel was clean and nice enough for one night. The staff were nice but need to be reminded that they cannot ask to see paperwork for assistance dogs. They asked for his papers, to see his vest and asked him to do tricks to prove he could behave himself. Completely unacceptable and a violation of federal law. read more

Corporate policy is to have continuous music playing as you walk in the door to the hotel. Not a good policy due to rooms being in line with the speakers playing that music 24 hours a day. If you book this hotel due to necessity, do not stay on the second floor - demand third or fourth floor. Horrible experience. read more

We did not get the room we booked. The first night, we were awakened by a roach crawling on my wife at 12:50 AM. We got it out of the bed and killed it. Based on our room proximity to your food preparation area, we suspect a roach infestation. Also, there was long black hair on our pillowcase and the bathroom floor....my wife is blonde. The floor of the elevator was as filthy as the room. This property was charging 5-star rates for flea-bag accommodations. The pillow was given to the front desk along with pictures of the roach we killed and the hair in the corner of the bathroom. We had to change rooms and stated that we did not feel it was appropriate to charge us for the first night. After multiple requests, the manager authorized a miniscule, token discount. We will NEVER EVER stay at this location again. You can advise the manager but they wouldn't speak with me before so I do not need them to contact me now. IHG should be embarrassed to have this poorly managed, FILTHY property in their portfolio. Did I mention the condoms for sale in the vending machine right next to the Skittles at eye-level to a child? Get some cleaning and some class. read more

More than 2.5 million miles on America Airlines over 20 years, more than 75 trips a year and 3 nights+ per week on hotel pillows during that time. I KNOW hotels, their services, and how difficult customers can be, as I am one from time to time. The desk manager on duty the three days on which I attempted to retrieve my laptop's charging cable could not have been less caring, nor less interested in verifying whether my charger was in their closet. I finally gave up, and ordered a new one online, leaving my original charger in their loving care. I honestly could not figure out what her lack of motivations were. She literally contradicted herself at one point, lying to my face. I will not stay at this property again, nor recommend anyone to stay here. read more

I wouldn't normally give this a 4-star review. After all, for $100 or so per night we didn't get a refrigerator or a microwave. The room was ok, but nothing special. The internet was sllloooowww. But.. The Gal and I were on a Hill Country driving trip, and got in a bit late. Yet they allowed us to take part in a hotel amenity, even though it was after hours (with conditions, of course). We slept in the next morning, but when I went down after breakfast hours were over, the person cleaning up asked me if I wanted some food. When I said sure, she allowed me to go back into the kitchen area and get food to take to the room. Service like that rates very highly in my book. Look, there on page 4 of the book, it says 'give extra stars for staff going above and beyond.' read more

Stayed here with friends for 1 night (5/6/16). This was the closest and decent hotel to Garner State Park, which was a 30 minute drive. Likes: - Microwave in the room - Mini-fridge was big enough to fit several items - Free breakfast (my friends ate but I did not) - Free wifi (used it for a few minutes) - Good customer service by the reception. Only issue was in the morning, no one answered the phone and no one was present initially - Air conditioning works great - Clean bedsheets and clean room (no smell) Dislikes: - Parking was difficult to find at night. We chose to stay here because it appeared to be the nicest hotel in Uvalde, which isn't saying much. Our first room had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke. We immediately called to ask to switch rooms. Our next room we switched to made the first room smell like roses. The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. On top of that there was an old fashioned room deodorizing machine plugged in on the floor which tells me that the manager or at least the staff was aware of the problem, but STILL put people in the room. We had our service animal with us and besides the fact that neither me nor my partner smoke cigarettes, I did not think it was a suitable environment to submit my dog to. Long story short we moved rooms again. Third room was better but the fact that I had to pay $160 to switch rooms TWICE when I could've paid that at the Westin in another city, who would've gotten it right the first time, is significantly inconvenient. In the morning, we overheard staff complaining about the smell of cigarette smoke in the rooms. Which further clarified to me that everyone was aware of the problem and still housed guests in an unhealthy environment. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights this weekend and at arrival asked the front desk clerk if all of the sheets and comforters had been swapped between guests. The clerk was hesitant and simply answered "housekeeping cleans between guests" I repeated the question and got the same answer. I was so adamant because of the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to make sure me and my family did not catch it while staying at the hotel. Everything seemed fine until I started moving pillows on the bed my small children stayed on to see if anything had been left behind before leaving and when picking up a set of pillows (that hadn't been used) I saw what looked like a blood stain on the fitted sheet. When I brought this up to the front desk I was told that they would let housekeeping know. This is an issue that needs to be resolved my management FIRST. In a time when such a deadly virus spreads easily, management and the owners need to go above and beyond to ensure that EVERYTHING is sanitized and that the bedding is changed between every customer. Telling me that housekeeping will be notified does nothing to ease the fear me and my family now feel after sleeping in those beds. read more

Only about six months old, this place is bright, cheery and not at all Bates Motel-ish like some of the surrounding hotels in the area. Free internet and breakfast (cinnamon rolls!nomnomnom), business center, nice size swimming pool (which my niece enjoyed immensely) and very friendly front desk staff. I've stayed two times within the month at this hotel and next time I'm back in Uvalde, I'll stay here again. read more

A great place to stay with kids. We stayed one night here on our way from Houston to Big Bend National Park. The rooms were perfect. The breakfast was amazing. Avoid this place. Nothing but problems, and mgmt doesn't seem to care. Notified them that their luggage cart had two flat tires...three days later, still flat. The girl working breakfast seems not to care. No plates, no pancake batter?...how do you run out of pancake batter? Shower rod falling off the wall, bathroom door doesn't latch. Wifi doesn't work. Comfortable clean rooms - was very quiet for a July 4th weekend. Breakfast was easy and convenient - good coffee. Unfortunately the last night we were there a maintenance man working for the Stripes gas station next door fired up a leaf blower from 3 am - 5am to blow dust and debris off their parking lot. I called down to the front desk 4 times to address the situation but no one ever answered. When I inquired about it at the front desk the next morning the night manager stated he didn't hear a thing and did not hear my phone calls. His female collegue sitting/typing on the computer looked up at me once but never really acknowledged my presence and more or less pursed her lips with a "whatever" look. ??????? Nice!!!! We were absolutely exhausted - which didn't help our long car drive across Texas the next day. Sooooooooo DO NOT book a room on the side facing Stripes, or even better, try and book a room at the Hampton Inn across the street. read more
