I stayed here a month ago. The elevators were out. I had to go near Knoxville again a month later. I figured the elevators should have been fixed. WRONG! Another stay while the slack management has proven that they can't handle managing a business. the worst hotel experience. Becky was awesome. every morning at about 5:30am staff congregated in hallway for their assignments for the day. they were very loud. laughing and talking and yelling from one end of the hall to the next. owner is absolutely a first class jerk. he would show up early and if an employee need to be repremanded it was done right there in the hallway and the way he talked to them was absolutely awful. yelling and screaming this all very early in the morning. his wife was just as bad. walking through the place all dressed to th nines. I did laundry one day and had my little chihuahua with me which she stayed right next to me and she told manager there was a little white dog running loose that needed to be put up. I left there after going in hospital. my brother fixed a small place on the wall my other puppy scratched and painted it. that was the only damage was done. owner was replacing carpet in all the rooms in the hotel but called while I was recovering in rehab from deaths door telling me I owed him 11,000 dollars for new carpet. he called repeatedly. I will never stay in a holiday inn again because when I lodged a complaint against him they did nothing. one other thing, construction workers stayed there on weekends. they were allowed to cook out and drink out in the parking lot right outside guests windows being loud and obnoxious till all hours. and the heating ac unit did not work properly. read more

We didn't even stay. We e booked a room with a king bed two weeks prior to our visit. When we got to our room it was a room with queen beds. We went back downstairs and were told rudely that they had overbooked and that was all they had. We were there at 3pm check in. The manager also told us that it happens all the time. Oh and one more thing. When we told them we wouldn't be staying there the reply was "you didn't lay on the bed did you?" Never again. We weren't offered a discount on the room. When we asked if there might be other rooms available in the waters we were told (rudely again) you might be able to find something. But it's a holiday so all the hotels will be like this. Arrived 3/9, checked out 3/14. Worst place we've ever stayed. The lobby looked clean, though the plants could use a little TLC. However, personnel came across as having been scooped up at the local and trained to use a computer. Their uniform design and color made them look like janitorial staff or workers at an auto garage. As to the accommodation, our first impression was that it was clean and bright. But then we noticed the deficiencies. First, the bathroom door has noticeable damage. The bathroom itself was clean, and the shower was nice, but the toilet required an extra long push on the handle, and the water pressure was low. The floor tiles don't have grout, and all I could think about was that something could be growing there. The bedroom was just shabby, with horrible upholstery and stained blackout curtains. And is it really necessary to have the beds set so high? I'm 5' tall, and the bed was at my waist. Having to literally climb into bed was rather undignified. Overall, this accommodation left much to be desired. We'll find somewhere else to stay the next time we come to visit friends in the area. I think Holiday Inn/IHG should consider how this franchise might damage their brand. read more

At the beginning of the process, the guy checking me in added $100 to my bill because I paid cash, I guess. Then walked into the room to an absolutely disgusting chair in the room and toilet would flush but not stop running. The shower was not hot first morning but was the second morning. My husband had a room block code that we forgot to enter when we made the reservation, the woman who checked us in assured us that was no problem and her manager could fix it the next day, but when we approached the manager the following day she was annoyed and short with us. She cut my husband off mid-sentence and when I spoke up she rolled her eyes at me and told us because our reservation was made through IHG she wasn't going to do anything to fix it. I was astonished at how rude she was and because of her behavior I would never stay at or recommend this location to anyone. To make matters worse the yogurts they were serving for breakfast all week were over a week expired which I unfortunately didn't realize until after feeding my infant son one. On our last morning there I checked and they were still serving them, this is basic food safety that was disregarded. Horrible location. There were also ants crawling along the floorboard of our room which was disturbing when we had a baby and toddler crawling around in our room. The shower drain was also clogged. read more

There's a group of guys that drinks beers out of their truck parked in the parking lot. When we pulled up, we saw empty beer cans in the parking lot. Avoid staying here. I booked this hotel through Priceline for a one-night stay. Upon checking in, I noticed that the Cc info listed at the top of the paperwork wasn't mine. When I brought that to the attention of the Front Desk attendant, she really could not have cared less. My concern was that if someone else's card info was on my paper, whose paperwork was MY card on?!?? I called IHG customer service, and they assured me that it's a 3rd party card used by Priceline. Fine, despite appearing possibly fraudulent at first. When we got to our room, there was a pile of dirty towels outside of the door and the bathroom was gross (see pics): legionella in the shower, hair in the sink, grime on the vanity, etc. As we're leaving for dinner, I ask that our bathroom be cleaned. Eye roll from same very disinterested attendant who can't be bothered to use an audible speaking voice and/or remove earbuds when speaking to customers. When we return from dinner, the bathroom has been wiped down, BUT I notice that there's no bedding for the sofa sleeper. I tried to call down to the Front Desk, but the room phone didn't work, so I go downstairs to request bedding. Another hard eye roll. She comes back with just a sheet set, so I ask for a blanket and pillows, and only get a blanket and another eye roll. I ask again for pillows, and she says "I can't give you what I don't have." WHAT?!?! This is a hotel, I came here to sleep, please provide me with proper sleeping gear. As I was expressing my disappointment at our experience thus far, other guests come in the front door carrying actual chipmunks in their hands. WHAT?!?! In amazement, I say "and now there are rodents?!" She said "I don't care. Fine by me." This is not at all in line with their stated pet policy. The staff who manned the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. This is a pet friendly hotel and there we several guests who brought their dogs, including us. Typically, my experiences with Holiday Inn Expresses in various cities, have been great. However, this one was reminiscent of a Motel or something similar. It wasn't as clean, it was loud from all of the barking, some of the guests looked sketchier than normal and it just made me feel uncomfortable during our stay. They offered free breakfast every morning but pet owners brought their dogs to the breakfast and sat them on the tables. Needless to say, we skipped out on breakfast at the hotel. Even though we have a dog, there is a certain standard we look forward to when it comes to being at "pet friendly" places. Unfortunately, our standards were not met. read more

Very warm staff! The ladies that checked us in were very friendly and helpful, and the lady at breakfast was super warm, helpful and welcoming. I booked the king suite purely because the prices for the smaller rooms were the same, and it was enormous. Sitting area, king bed, balcony, bath in the bedroom (a touch awkward for us but a nice touch and maybe some people's preference) and standard shower in the bathroom. We loved it! This hotel may be a little older in some ways, but the staff and management works with it the best they can. This was a terrific spot to stop on our road trip and we enjoyed it very much! read more

Stayed at this property for Memorial Day weekend, and enjoyed the stay. Renovations seem to be complete--the hotel looks nice, and I found my room to be spanking clean. No issues at all with cleanliness. The hotel is small, which I view as a plus. I hate spending half my time trekking from the car to the room. The fitness center was good, there is a small outdoor pool, and the breakfast was good, with adequate hot food and protein choices. Good wi-fi connection. The staff was friendly and courteous. One of my only complaints about the hotel is the height of the beds, but I have that complaint nearly everywhere I go. I am short, and a high bed is a challenge. This one will give you a nose-bleed. So I called the front desk and asked for a step stool, which someone brought to the room about two minutes later. The hotel does have some noise issues, from plumbing and A/C mostly, but my noise-cancelling ear buds took care of that. Overall a good experience, and I would go back. read more

Great hotel in a convenient location. Visiting distance to Knoxville, Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. Hotel was recently renovated, rooms are large, clean with comfortable beds. Small but clean workout room with treadmill, elliptical and some weights. We were there for an extended business stay and had no complaints during the entire 12 days. We had an end room and never had a noice issue. Staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We had our dog and he became part of the "family". It's obvious the employees are energized with the remodel and excited to share their new space. read more

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Dandridge, Tennessee. To say the least I was less than pleased with the state of the room we were assigned and the attitude of the manager when I spoke with her today. When we checked in and went to the room we found 3 separate clusters of ladybugs as well as numerous dead ones around the room and bathroom. As I was unpacking the travel cooler I found two beers left in the fridge left over from I'm assuming a previous guest. Photos are attached. We travel with a 5 year old, leftover beer is completely unacceptable! Not to mention the complete lack of installation between the stairwell and this room. Even the lightest step echoed through the room. Let alone multiple people clomping down the stairs. I was told there were no other rooms to move us to. We found out at checkout that wasn't the case. At this point we were too tired to move on to the next place. The next day I was told we wouldn't be charged until the manager could be reached. When I got in touch with the manager today she told me we'd been charged for the night but she could credit me 10,000 points for the trouble. For 10,000 points I CANNOT even stay at that hotel. The cheapest room for the night I stayed was 15,000 points. I was told she refuses to authorize anyone else to make these decisions to credit rooms. We are in the process of moving and this location is now the halfway point between our new home and family. We will not be staying here again, I'd rather drive further than stay here again. read more

I stayed here because I was in town for work. The staff is friendly I was upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi and flat screen tv. The hotel is old the 3rd floor hallway lingers with smell of smoke(cigarettes). My room was somewhat clean I found small pieces of trash around the night stand and around the bed frame. This hotel allows dogs. I'm not a fan of hotels that allows dogs. As I feel these hotels are not as clean or thoroughly cleaned. I will not stay at this hotel again when I come back to this area for work in the future. The fitness center is terrible no free weights and a busted bowflex machine. read more

I gave it two stars because the mattress was so comfortable and the front desk people were pleasant. I had the breakfast and suffered from food poisoning 3 hours later. Not worth the $$. Looking for a place that is 'pet friendly'? This ISN'T it! Looking for a place that is 'customer friendly'? This ISN'T it! After making a reservation through their central booking, and driving 6 hours to this destination, we were very rudely informed that they only allow some pets, no cats. Apparently, they have some 'issues' in the past with pets. Ok, they charged $35-$50 prior to this time, they have insurance. If pets do cause problems you are still responsible for the damage. Fine. We will cover any problem, just don't rudely inform people that they don't have a reservation as they walk in the front door. P.S. We did talk to IHG Customer Relations about both problems. read more

My experience was very similar to what Malissia M describes. Very warm and welcoming staff. To rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Everything worked. The hotel is bit dated, but, so what, it's very clean and the rates account for that. The breakfast offered a large selection on foods, probably enough to please even picky eaters. The only minor issue for me was the overall hot water temperature and water pressure for the shower could use some improvement. Overall, I had a great stay and will return. read more

When we arrived our room wasn't ready like they said it would be. Asked for room with walk in shower on 1st floor was told they had one and it was booked. Supposed to have WiFi but it didn't work ! If I could give this hotel a negative 5 star, I would! I had booked a block of rooms in April for a May stay. My grandfather had just passed and the service was to be held over the memorial day weekend. Betsy was great and very accommodating at the time. A few weeks later, the family began to call to make their reservations. The block as cancelled! Betsy claims she had advised me that the block would be held for 2 weeks. I do not recall this at all as i was making a great deal of arrangements. I called and asked to speak to the manager. A snotty "Manager by the name of Betsy picked up the phone and began yelling at me. I was not even able to say a word without her interrupting me. She could have cared less what the circumstance was or if I happen to misunderstand the accommodations. Needles to say I was canceling my reservations. Betsy's remark "Good Luck with that!!" After canceling the hotel rooms that were already reserved for the family, an email was sent confirming my stay. I had to call a second time and cancel. The night of the reservations that have been cancelled twice a call was made asking if I would be arriving late. I lost it and had to explain that I have three conformation numbers of the cancellations. I was shocked that not only are they rude, and disrespectful but completely incompetent of their jobs. I would highly recommend traveling a little further to another hotel and STAY AWAY from this one. read more

Our daughter was covered in some kind of bites from this hotel! We stayed overnight and ended up with a miserable baby! I called to speak to the manager and when I was transferred to him he said "she doesn't know what she is talking about, I am a desk clerk." By the end of the conversation, he revealed he was the manager/owner?? I asked about the bites and he claimed it came from our small fan which we used as white noise for our baby. He also said he was going to dispose of her lovey which we accidentally left there because it was "smelling up the hotel." I posted a negative review on Trip Advisor because I received no contact from Holiday Inn Guest Relations after 4 calls and he offered to "work with me" in exchange for removing the negative review. He also offered another night stay in an upraised room! Um, no thanks. Slimy, dishonest manager + smoke smell, bugs, gross. Pass on this one!!!! read more

This is the worst hotel ever! Do not stay here! Not all Holiday Inn Express hotels are created equal! The staff was friendly but the manager is extremely rude, don't know how she even still has a job in this profession. The floor we stayed on looked like a zombie movie and smelled terrible. I understand the hotel was under construction but our floor shouldn't of had people staying on it at the point it was in construction. Our room reeked of musty, old cigarette smoke, there were rips in the chair, there was pubic hair in the whirlpool tub, a blood stain on the duvet cover, a dirty vacuum behind the chair in the room, the hair dryer was one of the wall dryers but it was just laying on the counter and not mounted to the wall. I give a lot of grace when it comes to hotels but this one was not professional or even clean and felt 'half-way done.' When we asked the manager to make things right because we were not pleased with our stay (and they post signs about satisfaction guaranteed), we were spoke to very rudely and were accused of lying when we were 100% telling the truth. It was overall a terrible experience on what was suppose to be a relaxing weekend away. If you need a place to stay, keep driving and pick a different hotel! read more

Staff was great and very helpful. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The only reason i give this hotel 1 star instead of 5 is the pos "manager" if thats what you wanna call her. Betsy this so called manager left me and my fiancee with no place to stay. Her employee double charged my card for our stay. I would have to call my bank and give them an authorization number to get my money back. I went to call the 1800 nimber for my bank but it was sunday so as you would figure they were closed. The next day was memorial day so again they were closed. Without that money we had no way of getting home. The wonderful staff took great care of us the first night which we got a complimentary room. Monday comes along once again i try calling the bank of course closed. The staff couldnt get ahold of the manager to ask what to do.... Thats problem #1... Then the manager refused to call and talk to me herself and had an employee tell me we couldn't stay another night.... Wait.. YOUR employees mistake and we have to suffer? Then i ask for her number and repeatedly call to get my calls ignored and then eventually shuts her phone off. Betsy what are you even doing for this hotel? You are worthless. I recommend staying here but just be careful how you pay because you might end up sleeping in your car... Ruined our vacation.. read more
