    King size bed

I was in need of a hotel and looking for a La Quinta or Super 8 (both are pet friendly) and Super 8 came first. For $40-45 this place ROCKS! Pillow top king size mattress, 42" flat screen, great cable connection, stainless steel fridge, dark wood bed set and granite tops on everything. I had a wonderful night sleep. The only reason why I am not giving a 5 star review for my wonderful stay is because of the following: 1. The ceiling and bathroom fixtures need sprucing up. 2. semi parking is impossible if the hotel is full

Hmmmmm . . . This was the bathroom door, there's another semi patched up hole in the sleeping area

This Super 8 is a Super 0 Where do I begin? First, I was desperate to find a room last minute in Gatlinburg, but with no luck I settled on this one in Dandridge TN. My charge was about $170 because there were a couple of events going on in the area (??). Not only was the room expensive for a Super 8, it wasn't worth more than $50. This hotel does NOT have an elevator (?) and we were booked on the second floor (go figure). Made us wish we'd packed lighter. To make matters worse, in the bathroom there were hairs in the tub, special hairs on the toilet, low pressure water (shower too), and much more. When I went to make my coffee, there was no outlet close by. I ended up having to plug it into an outlet near our cooler and setting it on top. Then when I went to warm up the cold breakfast that I got in the lobby/eating area, I had to squeeze behind the TV and unplug the refrigerator to plug in the microwave. Although they do not offer laundry service, which is fine because I don't use it, I would've appreciated a "complementary" laundry bag. The continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. I settled on some biscuits and gravy which didn't taste too good. Overall, not satisfied. **However the receptionists were very friendly.

Every 30 seconds a bell rings. If there was a television, maybe you could drown it out. No way you can sleep here. There's a coffee maker in the room but it doesn't work. They say they have been brewing coffee at the " free" breakfast for the last 30 minutes, but still no coffee. I've been awake all night. Also, there's no hot water in the shower. I would have been more comfortable sleeping in the car.

I was ensured that we would have conjoining, nonsmoking rooms. When we got to the hotel around 12:30 am, the front desk worker said that they didn't promise us conjoining rooms. They also charged us for our cat, even though we paid for her fee online. The first thing my wife and I found in our room was a dirty, used face mask sitting right on the desk. After check in, we discovered that the water was not working, and they still allowed us to check in knowing this the case. After this was resolved around 2:30 in the morning, I found numerous hairs in the bathtub, and the towels had countless stains in a range of colors, with the floor towel being the worst of all. Our room was CLEARLY a smoking room, and every aspect of the room was dirty. This hotel was a colossal health hazard in every way. I am someone who rarely reviews any place of business, but if only one traveler reads this and stays away, it would be worth posting. I only wish I took photos to document this terrible experience for you. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We stayed in "Lake my Day" (LOVE the fun names…read morethey give the rooms) Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed and bedding were absolutely luxurious! Our own private deck with a full size, well functioning hot tub was why we rented this place to begin with. And it did not disappoint. Our hot tub cover was done, water logged and difficult for one person to take off, but thats fixable.... And did not deter our enjoyable time at all. We star gazed from the hot tub. The morning was just as good. I got up at Sunrise and sat in that tub water the wild life. The small villas have privacy screen walls for the decks. The two end units are more open without privacy screens on the corners. There is a one time cleaning fee so if you stay more than 1 night, the cost is VERY affordable. I very much wish we had just rented this place the WHOLE time we were in TN. I am sad to leave. This was a perfect jumping off ground to the Great Smokey Mountains and Knoxville. The owner was delightful, easy to work with and i am thrilled they bought this place 3 years ago. Anything i can do to support this hard working young family, i will do. Stay here. Its GREAT!

If you are self-managing your short term rental cabin in the Smokies your cleaning / handyman crew…read moreis the most important hire you will make. I'm a new cabin owner in the Smokies. I can't say enough good things about Mandy and Billy Gerken and their cleaning / handyman company. Without a dedicated, professional, high quality team like these guys I don't think it would be possible to remotely manage my cabin as successfully as I have. In less than 90 days of operation I have achieved Airbnb's "Superhost" status, and earned 16 nearly all 5-star reviews from guests. Many of my guests have remarked how clean and organized my cabin is. "Extremely clean" "Very clean, cabin feel" "We appreciate how clean the cabin was" "The cabin was extremely clean and organized" And for the Yelp Mafia who hid my last review for being fake, I invite you to go to my Airbnb listing to see these glowing reviews airbnb . com /h/libertyhaven What my guests' don't know is how much work Mandy and Billy and their team did to get my new cabin rent ready. Not only did they drive all over Sevier County to different Home Depot's and Lowe's and Walmarts picking up and shopping for stuff the cabin needed, much of which they recommended (e.g. bigger cooking pots, some throw rugs, bathroom mats, etc) but they assembled and installed tons of stuff like the blinds and drapes, the rocking chairs, the CO2 detectors, the dedicated laptop workstation, carpenter bees traps, string lighting, illuminated address plaque, etc. Every time I ship something new to their house, they bring it to the cabin, set it up, and send me a (very reasonable) invoice. Are these guys more expensive than some other cleaners in the area? Yes. In fact they were 5 times more expensive than the lowest bid I got from a bid site (like Angie's List or something like that). But I simply pass their cleaning fee on to my guests AFTER I mark it up by $49. So not only are they a SOURCE of revenue for me, they actually SAVE me A LOT of money. If I didn't have this incredible team (and they are the most important members of my short term rental cabin team) on the ground, I would have to hire an expensive old skool property management company. Looking at the low star reviews of competing neighboring cabins, nearly all of them are managed by property management companies. Low ratings on Airbnb is slow death. People won't book a low rated, dirty cabin. And eventually Airbnb will delist you. If you're planning on managing your Airbnb VRBO cabin remotely (and why would you not?) HIRE THESE GUYS. They will save you money. They will EARN you money. And you'll sleep well knowing they are on top of everything because they are very experienced, consumate professionals, as good as it gets.
