Outrageous price for the room through Expedia $234.82 for the room. Then another charge for a dog of $161.39. $396.21 is not worth it. Breakfast is extra. Roach infested hotel with apathetic management. I close the light and was watching something on my iPad when I felt something on my arm. I jumped up, turned on the light and it was a giant cockroach in my bed. I grabbed tissue and killed it. I attached pictures and a video. The worst part is the way it was handled. Michael, the front desk clerk, insisted there were no cockroaches in Flagstaff and he needed to see it for himself. I was not comfortable with a strange man coming in my room late at night. I am a female traveling solo and Michael knew that because he checked me in. I told him I was not dressed and it was late. I asked for a room Change and I was told no. He needed to inspect the room for insects because he didn't believe it was a cockroach. I even asked ChatGPT and she confirmed that was a cockroach and they are in Flagstaff. I had to tell him multiple times he is not coming in my room late at night to see a cockroach. I was told the only thing that I could do was email the manager and she wouldn't be in until Monday. This was a Saturday night. I emailed on Sunday and I got no response. I didn't sleep a wink all night. When I got the Hyatt review, I wrote up my terrible experience along with a few other bad experiences. What I got was a doubling down on the cockroach debate. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this disgusting hotel. I still can't shake the terrible feeling of both a cockroach in my bed and Michael's insistence on coming in my room late at night to "inspect". read more

4 star hotel, really. But 5 due to great, great customer service from the front desk folks! We stayed here for 2 nights on a Grand Canyon trip. The hotel was nice. Hyatt always has the comfy beds! We were gone for the whole day the 2nd day and room service never came. Not sure if they don't do it unless you request it, or only if you stay longer than a certain time? We didn't really need it, just always nice to get new towels (which we did by just asking for them at the front desk). Also, $8.00 a night to park. Meh! Could have parked on the side street right next to the hotel for free probably. Also, the walls were pretty thin. Could hear everything going on in the hallway and doors slamming etc. Minor gripes, but still. Anyways............... That 5th star is for the service! During check in and every single time we walked by the front desk, they would always say hello and ask how your day was etc. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Very friendly staff! They also turned a potential sad situation into a memorable one.......... My kids wanted to go swimming so bad! They went down to the pool and the front desk informed us that they had to close it for the day due to chlorine levels or something like that. My kids were bummed. To make up for it, they let my kids and wife pick any little snack item from their front snack bar thing. The kids got some Starburst and Skittles and it seriously made their day! I have not even stayed here yet, and I am giving them a 2 star review. There is no possible way to book online that you are staying with your pet. You are required to call an off shore call center, that you must explicitly tell them MULTIPLE TIMES you are staying with a pet. Why this is not just a simple addition on their website is beyond me. I spent over 30 minutes trying to figure out how to do this. Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity, or whatever stupid travel aggregator is out there only make this worse. when we arrived we were one of many people waiting to check in. Their computers were down. after waiting an hour, we checked in to a clean room but very little of anything else. no movie channels, no free breakfast, no bathroom extras such as hand soap, or lotion . refrigerator was cold when we arrived but stopped working shortly after. Seem like a relatively new modern hotel. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Nice bar in the lobby open until 2 AM. My only complaint was that the walls seemed quite thin - it was very easy to hear people in the hallway and in the adjacent rooms. read more

It's great! We have came here a few times to stay within the last few months and Noah at the front has been there those times and we just adore him! The rooms are great, I love the no carpet, the shower door kept sliding open, so I think that just needs to be fixed, other than that, it's clean and comfortable to stay! read more

So I usually like Hyatt Place locations so I'm sad to give it such a low review. Breakfast was ok but always running out of food and bowls and place was completely messy. On a good note - there's a bar on prem that also serves some food at night. The room smelled. The bathroom smelled like a dead rat is stuck somewhere in the walls or the pipes. The bedsheet was stained. We didn't want to move rooms so just kept the door and window open to try and air the room. The couch in the business center smelled like someone peed on it. Our room was fabulous. However, Hyatt is really not generous -- skimpy -- with things like bath towels. They gave us exactly 2 wash cloths and 2 bath towels and one bath mat No hand towels. I had a tiny amount of hand wash to do and could have used an extra towel or two. Also I was informed at check in that the breakfast would be $8 per person but I booked with breakfast included. After absorbing this inconsistency, I visited the desk with documentation I'd booked with included breakfast. They reluctantly honored breakfast but made sure to tell me this is no longer the case. Not impressed. 4stars for nice room but skimpy amenities. Felt like bait and switch. I'll find a new place to stay in Flagstaff. read more

I recently had a two night stay at this Hyatt and it was overall very pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming when we arrived for check-in, and the location is great if you're planning to spend time downtown. It's also situated away from the main roads so it's nice and quiet. Our room was very spacious, modern, and well-kept. The TV even had an option for chrome cast, though we couldn't get it to work. The bed was comfortable however the pillows were a little too firm for my liking. They do offer complimentary breakfast although I did not end up trying it out while I was there so I can't comment on that. The only downside to my stay was having to pay $8 a day for parking in an uncovered lot. Despite that I would definitely stay here again because of the convenience of location and nice rooms. read more

My stay here was absolutely wonderful. Check in was easy and quick, and the gal checking me in was very polite and friendly. My room was very clean and quite nice actually, and as this is a fairly new hotel everything was in good shape. There is a bar on site and the BT was also quite friendly when I went to the bar for a couple of beers before heading out to the downtown area which is just a short walk away. Wasn't crazy about having to pay for parking, but so many hotels are doing this now, so it is what it is. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best I've ever had from a hotel. On the second morning of my trip they had pancakes, and the day before they had waffles, and a young child was so upset that there weren't waffles like the day before, and the staff made her some waffles, now that is service. I highly recommend this place for a stay in Flagstaff, yes it's a bit more expensive than many of the motels in the area, but trust me it's worth the extra expense. read more

The good was the staff. Everyone I met in passing either on the elevator or hallways were very very nice. The room itself for $182 a night was sub par. I thought it would have been a little larger. It was very clean. There was a fridge which was nice. Our view from the room was nice in that we could see the snow peaked mountains. The downside is they give Angel Soft 1 ply toilet paper. The rest stop areas had better quality toilet paper. No shampoo and conditioner. They did not have room service. You maybe could have ordered food and went down to pick it up to take back to the room. The bar menu was pretty small and limited. It was $8 per person for a continental breakfast. I thought it was a buffet breakfast. All in all, I don't think it was worth the price. read more

Same issues as the majority of negative reviewers: 1) They don't clean your room and restock unless you ask. Even when you make that request they still won't do it. They never once cleaned our room after we politely asked. Trash builds up. Dirty towels pile up. 2) breakfast is chaos with food all over the place and dishes not being replenished. I have probably stayed 50 nights at Hyatt properties over the past few years. This is by far the worst Hyatt I have ever experienced. Literally everything about my stay was awful, which might seem impossible, but read on for details. My reservation was for a Tuesday evening and I called the hotel to let them know I would be arriving very late (around 4am). The front desk clerk on the phone said this would be no problem, and that she would modify my reservation to make sure I did not lose my room. When I arrived, the night auditor told me that she had already run her audit for the night, had heard nothing from the previous shift about my late arrival, and could not check me in for a Tuesday arrival. She then launched into a technical description of how night audit worked at the hotel and indicated that no manager should have authorized my arrival as the front desk clerk from earlier in the evening arranged. This explanation was followed by awkward silence, as if I should just give up on my reservation. I finally broke the silence and told the night auditor that I could not do anything about communication breakdowns among hotel staff. Finally, the night auditor checked me into a room...until I was then awakened at 6:45am by vacuuming. What hotel starts vacuuming at 6:45am and wakes up their guests? I finally was able to fall asleep and thought my Hyatt Place Flagstaff nightmare might be over. As it turned out, the nightmare would last the remainder of my stay. My next chapter in my nightmare was staff ignoring I had a do not disturb sign on my door and knocking anyway. I had not yet gotten dressed and asked what the person needed. The person knocking said they were maintenance and would just come back later. Why are hotel staff knocking on my door with a do not disturb sign for an issue that was clearly not urgent? Love Flagstaff and visit frequently. It was our first time staying at the Hyatt Place and it will most definitely be our last! the bathroom had hair all over the floor and in the shower. Paper thin walls...so don't plan on sleeping. The people next door kept us up all night with their snoring...and my autistic daughter had her noise machine on and we could still hear the snoring! I am not really sure why the rating is so low. Reading all these other reviews before booking, I was concerned about 1. Lack of parking 2. Room not being ready when we arrived, especially because it was a Spring break week. We headed over from Williams to Flagstaff around 7pm after we got off the train from Grand Canyon. I was able to digitally check-in using my world of hyatt app in the morning of arrival, so my room was ready by the time we got there around 7:30pm. Parking was plentiful and close to the entrance so we had no issue there. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was straight forward with lots of tables. We didn't experience any annoyance from neighbors either. As a Hyatt globalist, I've been to at least 20 Hyatt place properties and this one being one of the newer ones was very clean and modern. Our 2 queen room on the top floor was huge. I am not sure if that is the standard size or I got the globalist upgrade but the room was very nice for a HP level property. It was honestly better than most older regency tier hyatt. I would definitely stay here again in the future if I am back in Flagstaff. read more

Room is clean and new, location is great, breakfast is okay, maybe short stuffed at breakfast area. Breakfast items run out frequently and people were waiting for food to be refilled at the buffet station. All employees I have seen were very nice. One big downside is paper thin wall and thin ceiling. I can hear people walking above us. I even felt like they were stomping or jumping. It was so loud. I can hear the noise from next to us. Terrible service, I have been here for a week- no housekeeping unless you ask. Breakfast has dry scrambled eggs and salty quiche. The worst is their front desk staff, don't even know where the coffee pods for the rooms are? If you need coffee in your room, you better come downstairs and get it yourself!! Terrible place!! Easy check in. Clean hotel. Only thing I wasn't a fan of is no bell hop to bring up luggage but not a big deal, just wish they had more luggage carts available. The junior suite was nice and spacious for a family of 4. Bathroom was nice and a lot of counter space. Also, only mirror with light near it is in the bathroom. Just recently stayed here for a two night stay and there were some positives, but unfortunately more negatives. To start off with the good things, hotel is in a great geographical location. It's away from all of the hustle and bustle from downtown but close enough to where you can walk to downtown and be there in about 10-20 minutes. The room itself was great, and the shower and bathroom were quite nice too. It's pretty much a brand new hotel so it definitely has a more modern feel to it. On to the bad, it seems like a lot of the employees were new so service wasn't the greatest. We stayed from a Friday to a Sunday and our room never got cleaned. We specifically requested that we get maid service when we left the hotel and came back hours later to see that the room had not been cleaned. Another huge letdown was their complimentary breakfast. When I gave it a try, it was hard to find a clean plate to put your food on as almost every dish was dirty. Pretty gross. A lot of the options(weren't many to begin with) were gone and not replenished. Big disappointment. Last thing which is a smaller complaint is that the pool wasn't heated. Maybe they only heat the pool in the winter but that water was pretty chilly so it would have benefited from a little heating action. Overall, the location and the room itself were nice but it pretty much stops there. Walls were also very thin and you can hear your neighbors pretty easily. Hopefully they can improve on these issues as I typically alway stay at hyatts when traveling and would like to revisit here when in Flag again. read more

Let me start off by saying we stay at a lot of Hyatt properties as we are Globalist members. We arrived around 4:30pm and had already requested checkin through the app earlier in the day stating we'd be arriving around 4:00pm. The hotel was newer and looked like a good choice as we pulled in. However, that is about where the good stopped. Parking is an absolute mess with anyone arriving later in the evening being without parking (they also charge $8/night but they took ours off because of our status). We went inside to check in and were told there are no rooms available yet to check in to, at 4:30pm!! We have never been told this ever at any Hyatt property and Globalists are supposed to have guaranteed availability as well! The lady behind the counter was nice but we were shocked to be told we'd have to wait. We sat down and in about 15 minutes were told our room was now ready. We dropped our stuff off and went to dinner. The room itself was nice but the floors are very easy to hear people above you. We returned around 7pm and watched TV for a while. We could hear our neighbors TV very loudly through the wall, along with them talking. Since we were going to be getting up early to get on the road, we decided to try to go to sleep around 830pm which is early. However, we did not sleep at all. Our other neighbors on the other side had checked in and we could hear them laughing, talking, their TV, and the wall was creaking over and over for well over an hour from what I can only imagine was them leaning again their headboard? There were doors slamming in the hallways and grown adults running and yelling in the halls. By about 10:15pm, we were not sleeping and it wasn't getting any better. We decided to just check out and drive at night. Never have we ever seen a hotel with such thin walls and floors. An absolute nightmare of a hotel and Hyatt should revoke its name from his property! read more

Walls are super thin you can hear people talking in the rooms next to you and from the hallways. Was not able to sleep well because of this. They charge $8/day for parking which is crazy.
