One of the Most Disappointing Hotel Stays I've Ever Had! (Zero Stars) I spent four nights at this Holiday Inn and honestly, I couldn't wait to leave. From the moment I walked into my room, there was a weird smell I just couldn't get rid of. The carpet, walls, and couch all looked like they belonged in the 80s -- worn, faded, and in desperate need of an update. The bathroom was the worst part: a yellowed toilet seat, black mold along the tub, and even a rusty nail sticking out where a shower bracket should have been. Definitely not what I expected when booking through a major hotel brand. Housekeeping? Didn't happen. I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign up the first night, but it was off the rest of the time, and no one ever came by to tidy up or replace towels. Breakfast was $7.99, and I still regret it -- pre-made eggs, dried-out sausage, and potatoes so undercooked they were still hard. Later, we tried the bar, and while the young man working was friendly, he was the only one there -- taking orders, making drinks, and cooking. Over the days, the menu kept shrinking because they kept "running out" of items. The coffee bistro wasn't much better... no one actually runs it, so sometimes there was no coffee, sometimes it was burnt, and once I was told, "Sorry, we don't have any cups." The gym was in the basement, dark and depressing, with machines that barely worked and an empty water dispenser. Service was hit-or-miss, but mostly a miss. Over three different meals, I averaged a 28-minute wait. A coworker of mine asked about his points not applying to his account and was met with a curt "I can't help you." The online photos make this place look way better than it really is. Between the outdated rooms, poor maintenance, lack of service, and disappointing food, I can't recommend this place to anyone. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. I took photos of the room, but even they don't fully show how bad it was -- the lighting is terrible, just like the overall atmosphere.

Stayed for one night, overall a clean and comfortable stay! We got a great deal, one room with two double beds. The room and hotel are loaded with amenities, from a hot tub to a boardroom to a self-playing piano in the lobby. My pictures do a better justice of showing off the many things they offer. It would be an ideal place to host a business conference or family reunion. Having to wake up very early the next morning, we were grateful for comfy bed, pillows, and free 24-hour brewed Starbucks coffee in the lobby. They had granola bars and small snacks available for purchase as well. Continental breakfast starts at 7, I was surprised by the large variety of options. There's also a lot of dining options within a minute drive. Front desk and employees were friendly, check-in & out was easy. Whether you're in Manitowoc for one night or an extended stay, this is a great place to check out.

During our annual summer trip to Wisconsin my husband and I wanted to return to Sheboygan because we enjoyed the area so much last year. The hotels we were considering at our previous location were all in the range of $300 plus a night. Not the price range we wanted considering it was almost double what we paid around the same time last year. That is how we ended up at the Manitowoc Holiday Inn. Our overall experience was really good. The common areas of the hotel were clean. Most important our room was neat and clean. Each day we were given new towels and the trash was removed. I make my own bed. (That's a me thing.) It was always quiet even with our room located off the elevator. The hotel appeared to be a central location for people who were working various trades in the area. During our three nights we enjoyed meeting new and entertaining individuals at the bar as I sipped my glass of wine and my husband enjoyed his Kentucky bourbon of choice. My guess is this hotel was built in the 70's or 80's. This fact does not bother me. The architecture and layout reminded me of my travels as a child when large open atriums and glass elevators made me "ooh and aah". It appears they have tried to modernize their decor a number of years back when the trend was darker colors not the white and bright as is the current trend.

This place is Wonderful!! Don't look to close into negative reviews. We stayed with a group for a near-by concert and the staff went above & beyond!! Gary, Adam, Dawn, Abigail and the rest there are top notch! Hotel is clean and very spacious! They even had a pop-up movie theater playing 24/7. WiFi was clean and only kicked me off after a few hours, but that's not a bad thing for security reasons. Adam, the bartender in the lounge, was outstanding and went out of his way to make sure we had a nightcap. Bottom line .. give this hotel a try!! You'll probably run into one of these great people I mentioned.

Can't post ZERO star. that's why end up with 1. Sunday Aug. 1 2021 around 9:30am. Whoever is in the front desk (lady)doesn't deserve to work in a hotel business. She probably need to stay home. She's upsetting all the customers from answering the phone, people asking question, and very disrespectful. I can't believe holiday inn hire people like her. She screams at customers. This place is old, UN accommodating, the pillows have drool stains, our room smells like cigarette, the pool is dirty, no one wears a mask and clean the frequently touch areas. Marriot, Hyatt, Hilton time to build hotels in Manitowoc Wisconsin. I don't recommend this place at all unless you absolutely have no choice.

Way overpriced for the average rooms and service they offer. Clean and friendly though.

I think the architecture was pretty cool, beats a boring square box building that most places have now become.

There was even an affordable shuttle option to eliminate the need to drive, find parking, etc. It was nearby Walmart and Menards plus plenty of food options, so conveniently located where we could get anything we needed. We enjoyed exploring Manitowoc while we were there as well. The room has everything we needed and the bonus of a third bed which we weren't expecting! They offered made to order breakfast each morning with an efficient system and plenty of options while reducing food waste, which I appreciated. The bathroom had a separated space for the sink and mirror which was great for saving time getting ready. The fridge was also really handy and they had reasonable rates for food and drinks (including Spotted Cow!) in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and offered great recommendations. We would absolutely stay here again next time we're in town!

The price was fantastic and it was a comfortable and clean place for us to lay our heads at night. We were not disturbed by other guests at night. The air conditioner was loud and the mini fridge would hum or turn on/off periodically but after the first night we got used to the noise. Our 1-year-old slept soundly regardless. The complimentary breakfast was nice - we ordered the English muffin egg sandwiches each morning along with some sides. The portions are small, but nothing was wasted. They also served Door County coffee which is a local Wisconsin made coffee. There is a lovely outdoor seating area off the kitchen and another outdoor patio space in the front. The property was clean, and we liked the nautical theme - very on point for Manitowoc. The location was perfect for us as we did not want to be in the heart of Manitowoc. It's close to everything you need including the downtown, eateries, and a Wal-Mart. The workout room was under construction when we stayed here. There is a game room with a large shuffleboard also on the property. We would stay here again if the price was the same - it was a great deal. We paid about $93 (plus tax) a night when we stayed in May 2025.

The lady that got us checked in was so polite and informative. My dad is a member of the club so he knew, but she had no problem going over the amenities and near by fun stuff with me. Even recommended a great place for us to go tomorrow. Rooms, we got three, they're big. My parents room is huge. Value for the price is here. Most places are cramped and tight. This place is giant. I can easily work out in the morning inside the room to beach body cardio blast and I have to move my couch at my own house, not here. The room smells great, the fridge is ice cold, beds are soft. Pool rules are awesome. There's a bar in the hotel, not busy, not the hippest spot, but if I was here with a group of fun folks, I'd be drinking them dry and loving it. Pool had a big beach ball, pool table, packman game, hot tub that was really hot surprisingly. The vaulted ceilings are cool too. Breakfast till 10, all day and night strong coffee. Keep going?.... Ok I will!!! So what prompted me to write this review was the night desk fella, Mathew I believe. I came out of the pool and just flew in today. We had a few beers poolside and I didn't have a lighter, but wanted to go smoke outside. I asked him for a light and he said that he bought some for guests specifically for this situation lol So I borrowed his Green Bay packers lighter and when I brought it back, he said keep it, because he knew what I was going through with the traveling .... My mind literally exploded a bit. Such a kind gesture. I stayed here about 6 years back and nothings changed. They're still super friendly and well run. Plenty of parking, almost zero highway noise, well maintained, and staffed by as I described, real people, with big hearts and good work ethic. Wish there was one of these where I live, maybe one day...
