Went in today at around noon, there was a Hispanic female helping customers and was very terse with…read morean elderly woman ahead of me, once my turn arrived I greeted her and was met with a stony face, she rang up my items and asked to scan my ID, I'm a senior citizen, but okay, my wallet allows for scanning in place, specifically for this purpose, she said, in a nasty tone, take it out, I told her it's designed to be scanned in place, she again insisted, in an increasingly agitated voice, take it out! Knowing it would only irritate her more taking time to remove my license, I told her to put everything back, I'll go elsewhere, which I did, another in the same chain, and was met with a pleasant cashier that obviously liked her job, this isn't the first bad experience here but it will be the last for me!

Nothing is more annoying than to pull up to a gas pump, unbuckle your seatbelt, take the keys out…read moreof the ignition, unlock the locking gas cap, take your maverik card out, scan it so that you can get a discount off your gas, put your debit card in, take the nozzle out, put it in the gas tank, push the lever, and wait for your gas tank to fill up. After standing there for a few minutes, and nothing is happening, you come to find out that the gas pump is broken. Why in the world was there no out of order sign on the gas pump so I didn't waste my time? Put the gas cap back on, get back in the car, put the key in the ignition, drive to the other lane, do the same thing all over again, put the nozzle into the gas tank, push the button, it works this time, however, it goes at a snail's pace, and it took forever to get gas.

Plan for that time when coming through and use the self-checkout for a quicker option (I have rarely seen a line for self-checkout and there are 2 stations for this). Hot food sold here, variety for morning and afternoon such as breakfast burritos and sandwiches. You can order at the counter or use the grab and go in the pick-up section. I do think the prices are fair for a gas station. There is a cooler with a ton of cold items to choose from. Very few times have I come to this location, and they had issues with their fountain drinks or ice. It's usually they are out of a flavor option which is fine as there are a lot of drinks to choose from. Bathroom has been clean each time I've used them, no debris on the counter by sink or floor. Tons of parking, little to no debris on lot that I have seen.

Gas stations dispense gas for cars. 2. Cars need gas to go. 3. Fusion power is not yet available to power vehicles (unlike in those lying Back to the Future movies). #2 makes #1 inherently required, you have to go somewhere. #3 is just annoying, but the fault of poor research by Hollywood. However, I think what puts Maverick above the curve is the stores themselves. And this particular location has a big, modern, clean store with plenty of variety of goods and has friendly service on almost every visit I've made. As a result of this and the fact to boot it also has plenty pumps so you can always get in without a wait to gas up makes this my gas station of choice. I try to support Maverick since while not a wholly local chain, it is one of the bigger ones in Utah and certainly limited to only a handful of Western states, many of which are the lesser populated ones.

So let's get down to basics - it's a convenience store. So does this location live up to that? I can say very much so, in that regard this one is very well situated on what is now a major East-West corridor in the South Valley and is super easy to get in and out of quickly. Service is friendly and it's a clean and generally well laid out store. Definitely one of the better 7-11 locations I've been to, and fairly reasonable prices when it comes to the food and beverage offerings, but for day to day commodities such as milk for example the grocery stores are still generally cheaper. I never get gas at 7-11 so I don't really have a frame of reference for how they compare on that front. Hopefully someone else steps up to review in that regard.
