A nice surprise to see a chichasan in Salt Lake City! I ordered the Dong Ding, what I usually order in California. The tea flavor was a little faint than what I'm used to. Service was fast.
Alan was such a gem to serve us! Theyre doing a buy one get one Lishan oolong tea and he was so informative and patient with us! The ambiance to the place is great and located inside HMART so everything is convenient! Also drinks stay consisted! Thanks Alan!!

Chicha might be my favorite boba place (top 2!) in the Salt Lake Valley! My go-to is the iced dong ding oolong tea latte with bubbles. Their drinks tend to be on the less sweet side, so I would recommend doing perfect sugar. It also is delicious hot! Even with boba, the bubbles are just a little softer, but they don't disintegrate. With the colder weather coming, I'd recommend giving it a shot! My bf got the regular bubble milk tea which is a little sweeter than the dong ding but also tastes a little chocolate-y to me (which I don't like). They always load up their drinks with lots of boba, so be prepared to have some left over after you finish your drink! No need to ration lol. Service is always polite and sweet. They tend to be pretty busy and I believe they steep their teas fresh per order, so they usually take about 5-10 minutes, but it's well worth the wait! Ambiance is clean, casual, and the booth seats are always a nice little spot to hang and chat. I honestly crave their boba all the time; if only they were closer to Salt Lake!
Sunday at 6pm both the open signs were not lit. There were still workers inside so I made sure to ask if they were still open. They said yes. Okay cool. Before I ordered they informed me they were out of taro balls. I asked them if they still had taro paste, they said yes. Okay cool. I asked if they can still make the taro fresh milk with just the milk and taro paste. They said no. Okay not cool. I asked them if they can make any of their taro drinks with taro paste. They said the taro milk tea. Okay cool. I asked if they could make the taro bubble milk tea without the "bubble" (tapioca pearls) so just the milk tea and the taro paste. They said no. Okay not cool. I asked if they could make any of the drinks without "bubble", they said no. Okay really not cool. I said okay Byeeeeeee -Sailor out
This is my go-to spot for boba! The drinks are always high quality, and the service is friendly and welcoming. Definitely a 5/5 every time
As someone from SoCal, it was a shock to see a Chi Cha with no line at all. On a weekend, I was able to just go up to the counter and order! Prices range about $7-$9 for one drink, so its a bit pricey. But the quality is well worth it. Each drink has freshly pulled tea so there is a bit of a wait for each drink. There is a spacious area to sit and chill. I also saw that they did tea tasting on one corner of the shop!

I tried the Orange High Mountain Pouchong Tea and their newest drink, the Green Taro Bubble Milk Tea. I preferred the Orange High Mountain -- although it was still sweet with lite sugar, so I'd recommend skipping the added sugar if possible. The Green Taro had a grainy texture from the taro, which I did not like. I'm not sure green tea is my thing, but it did have a nice fragrance!

I loved the taro bubble milk tea with less ice and less sugar. Perfect sweetness and bitterness from the tea, and perfect amount of milk. My sisters got the other taro drinks with the taro balls which were a great texture. I'll definitely be back! Thankfully, it wasn't too busy so we got our drinks pretty fast too!

An incredible tea shoppe in West Jordan, UT!! Great tea is hard to come by, and being part Chinese, it's important to have great quality tea! This will definitely be a regular tea place. Their boba is also fresh and has the best texture. May I add that their presentation and packaging is original and adorable. They also offer tea tasting classes; which I'll be looking into. read more
Premium boba tea from Taiwan first location in Utah. I wish they offer a larger cup and make NO ice an option. I get it its high quality and not Kung Fu Tea. Had to ding 1 star down because server said they don't have WiFi or not willing to share the PW. Not trying to be a Karen but a cafe without WiFi?!?! Stopped by Chicha San Chen and ordered the passion fruit condensed milk with boba. The drink itself was delicious, smooth, and refreshing. My only downside was the portion. Even though I selected light ice, it felt like the cup was mostly ice with not much drink. The space is cute and clean, and the ordering process was simple. You can order either at a self-order kiosk or directly with a staff member, which I appreciated. That said, the wait was pretty long. It took about 20 minutes for one drink. There were only two employees working, with one person making all the drinks and the other handling orders, so it seemed more like a staffing issue than anything else. Overall, great flavor and a nice space, but they could definitely benefit from an extra team member during busy times. read more

I was sooo excited on my work trip when I found they had a location in Utah! I stopped by twice cause I loved their drinks so much! The green bubble milk tea was soo good, and they used non-dairy milk. The next day I came back for the Honey Osmanthus Oolong tea and it was soo amazing, it tastes crisp and had tons of oolong flavor. I usually get drinks less sweet and both were perfect. I would highly recommend!! Plenty of parking next to the Hmart. Staff is super friendly. read more

Super cute place. The workers are so sweet and always willing to let you try to teas for free samples which is super fun! I ordered a taro bubble milk tea. It was very different than what I'm used to. If you love strong tea this is the best place. For me personally I like drinks a little more sweet but this place was fun to try. How does the SLC area have a Chicha San Chen!? As soon as I saw this location, I knew we had to visit. When we walked in - instant shock. No line on a Saturday afternoon? How is that possible (the Bellevue location is easily a 30+ minute wait at this time)!? Could this location be worse than others? I placed my order with some apprehension, but with hope for consistency between locations. High Mountain Pouchong Oolong + Cream, Perfect Sweet, Light Ice w/ Boba ($7) - This is a super fragrant tea, flowery, nutty, sweet, and just a delicious tea overall, pairing perfectly with the cream, adding tons of body but not covering up any of the tea flavor. Sweetness at perfect is indeed perfect - probably around 50% compared to most other boba shops. The ice level is similarly perfect at light ice - not much being left over after completely cooling the drink down. The boba is on the larger side and has a pretty good sweetness level covering each pearl. They're mostly smooth, with some exhibiting a small amount of valleys on the surface. The pearls are a little on the firmer side, allowing one bite to slice through the center with relative ease. About half the diameter on the interior is rough on the tongue. Still, it's pretty chewy and bouncy, just not as high quality as the tea. One negative - I think they didn't properly wipe the cup because it was sticky all over. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Dong Ding Oolong + Cream, Perfect Sweet, Light Ice w/ Boba ($7) - This one is a much less pronounced flavor than the High Mountain, very subtle maybe woodsy or toasty, which allows the flavor of the cream to make its way to the top. Again, perfect sweet and light ice are great for this drink. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 After we placed our order, we found out that this location even has complimentary tea tastings on weekends! Each person gets to try an oolong of their choice. There are five to choose from, each with a different level of roast. We went with the middle (Daylight) and the most roasted (Night). The Daylight has a bit of a roasty smell, is sweet on the nose, and has some of the oolong grassy notes, but is missing any fruity notes that might be present in some of the lighter roasted ones. It's a little bit astringent as well. The Night smells and tastes highly roasted, smoky, almost like charcoal. Not my favorite, but good to try! They sell these teas separately and don't use them to make boba since, according to the tearista, they don't work well with all the cream and additives the drinks get. Yes, I still think this chain is exceptionally pretentious and their presentation is overwrought, but I think this is one company that lives up to their promises. This is now a must stop anytime I'm around SLC. I will go out of the way to visit Chicha San Chen, and this location is no exception. Bathrooms - None in store, but since this is in the H Mart mall, there are larger ones outside. read more
Located within H Mart, Chicha San Chen is a boba tea shop that is focused on the tea. I was told they have hot tea tastings on the weekend by the helpful staff member. I ordered a Taro Ball Boba. Light Ice, half sugar. I believe I would enjoy it with no sugar next time. The tea was delightful. The Taro boba balls were slightly sweet and had a perfect chewiness. The packaging may be a little extra, but makes up for it in the cuteness factor lol. It was clean and I am excited to try more items here whenever I visit H Mart for grocery items. read more

You can customize your drink by choosing your tea, flavor, toppings, and adjusting sugar and ice levels, or pick from their popular drinks. I tried the bubble milk tea and Dong Ding Oolong tea latte--both were well-balanced and refreshing. A notable feature is their complimentary hot tea sampling from 1 PM to 6 PM. You can choose from five teas, steeped at 95 degrees for six minutes using high-end filtered water and whole tea leaves. Chicha San Chen uses a high-end tea press and a detailed brewing process to ensure each cup is brewed perfectly. The presentation is so cute! I will definitely be stopping by to pick up drinks for a fun gift to co-workers or friends. If you're coffee lover, I would still give this a try! I think you will be pleased! read more

I was offered a Bubble Milk sample when I went up to order a drink and while waiting for a drink another staff member offered to brew me some tea. A boujee, ever so precise, boba shop in H-mart! I believe one of their locations received a Michelin star so I was honestly impressed to see it here of all places. I was able to try a few of their signature drinks; bubble milk tea, taro ball tea latte, honey osmanthus, and dong ding oolong tea with added herbal jelly. I LOVE how tea-forward their drinks are and how precise they make their teas. Each person behind the counter was doing their task with such care so I felt they were putting in their best effort for every drink they made. I even saw them weighing the ice added to ensure the perfect amount. I got perfect sugar level on each to get a gauge for how sweet their drinks are. Even at perfect sugar level (their equivalent 100%) I found the drinks to not be too sweet! Highly recommend, allot some additional time for a line, and enjoy a drink while browsing h-mart! read more

I am no stranger to milk tea and I highly recommend going to Chicha San Chen. The cashier was very kind, helpful, and patient in explaining their popular options, which I appreciate since this was my first time there. I was offered a sample of their Dong Ding Oolong Tea with cream and perfect sweetness. I really enjoyed that tea and would have ordered it if it hadn't been late in the day. I will definitely be coming back to order that tea. Instead, I ordered the Mango Condensed Milk with light sugar and ice, which is part of their limited Summertime drinks. The drink was super delicious and I like that I could adjust the sweetness level, since I don't like drinks that are super sweet. Chicha San Chen has plenty of great options for drinks with and without caffeine. There's ample seating if you want to sit down and chat with your friends while you enjoy your drink. This place has become one of my new (and few) milk tea spots in Utah. read more
