OMG, this place is awesome!! Specifically, the Dog Beach! I'm in town for a few weeks and was looking for a dog beach for my Teddy. He gets hot, so I wanted to go in the morning on an overcast day. There's so much conflicting information about the hours and locations for all the dog beaches, I thought I'd start here. It was recommended on Reddit. BEST recommendation ever! First of all, where the dogs play is mostly shaded. From what I read, it's a man-made lagoon. The water is beautiful. You can see the bottom as you enter the water. At first, Teddy was a little hesitant to get in, but there were so many other dogs there, he just wanted to play. There are poop bags there if you need them. There's also a bench-style table to sit at. Teddy had a blast! Be sure to bring some water shoes. The beach/ground is riddled with small rocks, so walking barefoot isn't necessarily comfortable. I wore slides, and it was good. After I let Teddy play, we walked in the park so he could dry off. They have a nice shaded path. They also have a Disc Golf Course. What is that you asked? I wondered the same thing. I didn't see anyone playing, but I did see the Disc catchers scattered throughout. They also have a volleyball section with beach sand. Oh yeah, they have a pretty cool butterfly garden. No dogs allowed in there, but the butterflies were flying all over that area, so I was able to see a few. Overall, it's a really nice park. I'll probably go back tomorrow. read more

Definitely an "off the beaten path" public park. Took my wife here to watch the incredible sun set over the serene lake. The grounds include a large Bark Park, jungle gym, disc golf course, jogging & bicycle paths and many spots for fishing. Wanted to check out this park due to family recommendation for Frisbee golf. As you enter the park you see plenty of parking close to the furrbaby swimming area. That was cool and although I do not live here ,if I had a dog I would be here every week. The Frisbee golf course was very technical with many palm tree obstacles and even a cross the water hole that I was sure we would have lost our golf frisbee but miraculously made it across. We did about 9 holes which took a little over an hour since it is a popular place on Sunday am and had to wait for the golfers ahead of us. Would definitely come back and bring friends if we were in area again. read more

Quick drive through the park to the rear lake to watch the big orange ball of sun slowly drop. A few holiday parties going on in the pavilions and lots a people jogging and also watching the sunset. Happily this is a Free park with plenty of parking. The park is much larger than I thought with many amenities including the Bark Park just to the left of the entrance. I will surely bring my daughter's dog here next time I puppysit. read more

Yesterday my family and I wanted to check out this park. This park is very safe to walk due to there is always police presence and fire fighters. The park is clean just the restroom was not that clean. This park is a pet friendly park on which it has a beach for dogs. The dog beach is closed on Wednesday from 8 am to 11 am. The park is open from 7am - 7 pm. This park has a volleyball court and a playground. I have read reviews that people have said that there is monkey in the tree. I didn't see any. We spoke to Ricky which provided great customer service and gave us information about the park. Overall it was a great experience. read more

Cool park that offers frisbee golf and places such as a dog swimming area that was fun to watch dog owners. If I lived here would definitely come walk my dogs here. We played a half round of frisbee golf a few days during our 4 day stay and the course was technical with even one hole over water. Plenty of shade but would recommend using sunscreen and be careful of spiders and iguanas since they are throughout the park. read more

We came for a couples photoshoot and the scenery was great. Free parking and entrance and the staff was very friendly. Great location for a photoshoot, and they have several shelters you can rent to host events. The park was open on Sunday from 7-7. They are pretty strict about closing at 7:00 pm on the dot, but that's plenty of time, given how long they are open for on a Sunday AND FREE. read more

I've been here several times because my dog loves it. There is plenty of free parking, shade, area for the dogs to swim and bags in case you need to pick up after them. It can get a bit crowded on the weekends, but it is a great park if your dog loves to swim. It's also fenced in so you don't need to worry about your dog running away or getting lost. You cannot swim in the water with your dogs but the water is shallow if you want to stand with them at the edge. read more

I loved this park! There's a nice amount of parking so you don't have to fight for a space. There's dog water area is a big lake that the dogs all seem to enjoy. There is only one picnic table in that spot so plan for that. There are picnic tables in other areas nearby, including a cute treehouse style one right above the dog water area where you can sit and have lunch and chat with folks while you watch the dogs in the water area with their owners. We didn't end up going to the dog park (the non water area) but we could see it from the parking lot and it seemed nice. Everyone was friendly and we had no issues with dogs fighting or people being rude. Overall, a great place to take you dog to enjoy the water and beat the heat. read more

This is a large park located just north of the Fort Lauderdale airport, easy to access from downtown or the highway. I came here to take a nature guided tour given by a Heal the Planet specialist and I loved the park...so many beautiful green spaces, trails, flowers, plants, butterflies, etc... The park has many amenities such as.... I truly love this park and so does Dexter (7 months American Bully)! Doggie Oasis: Tucked away on the southeast side of Broward County, hides Snyder Park. Mostly known by locals for catering to their furry friends, you don't have to have a pooch to enjoy the view, games, barbie, butterflies and edible garden. If you are looking to take a short nature hike in the middle of the city, this might be the perfect spot. The doggies are only allowed in 2 areas (lake and dogs park) so keep that in mind if your planning on exploring the rest of the park. I truly recommend this park for all ages! read more

My dogs love this place they have 2 areas for them. We always go to the water area with a couple of tennis balls, the dogs love to swim and retrieve them. The second area is dry, it has obstacles for the dogs and plenty of water places for drinks and a hose you can even give your dog a bath before heading home. read more

I never knew this park existed. My friend Ginnie took me there yesterday with her chocolate Labrador. There is lots going on in this park for both dogs and humans. ITherecwas a small farmers market going on Saturday which we enjoyed walking through. Then we took the dog to the area where they can run free with other dogs There is a separate area with a lake that the dogs can swim in and retrieve balls. They also have an Edible Garden which we walked through. There are a lot of fruit trees growing there. You know I love parks and this is one I have been trying to get to for a long time. Many people say that it has the best disc golf course in South Florida Unfortunately, I came here two weeks after the flooding and it was still under water for the most part. Hole one and two were not playable unless you wanted to swim. Hole three is a crazy hole that I would've loved to throw at but the Tbox is still under water. The course looked great with open shots, wood shots, over the water shots and some slight elevation The park itself was pretty cool. Being up against the airport probably keeps this park pretty well hidden. There are lots of cool nooks and areas to meander around. Some playgrounds and butterfly garden to entertain the kiddos. Just lots of lounge areas. They had some cool elevated gazebos by the lakes to hang out at but some of them were commandeered by some homeless folks. Where has this park been?! We heard about it through an event (which by the way, their nature walks are great!). The park seems huge, we were only able to do the hour nature walk that guided us through their butterfly garden and food forest. I highly recommend it as you can really see what thrives in South Florida. I love their food forest, where they are growing herbs, fruit and edible flowers (anyone tasted cranberry hibiscus leaves?!?! ). They have bike trails, a big frisbee course, gorgeous gated lake for dogs, and plenty of areas for picnics. We will be coming often. While I can see the appeal, this dog park and park is right by a major LOUD highway. If your dogs are in any way nervous around loud constant sound, like our little mixed terrier and chi-weenie, probably best to skip this one. I've been nervous to try this park for the last year because of all the negative reviews about all the bacteria in the lake. However, after reading that they treat the water monthly, I decided to try it out (and have never had any health problems thus far). The dog park is HUGE, as is the lake the dogs can swim in. I've done a few meetups here now, and all the dogs have a great time. Especially my dog, who can't get enough of the water. There are pavilions and plenty of shade for when it's hot and sunny out (and water fountains). Make sure you check the hours/days before you go. Certain (random) days of the month it is closed- and if you're driving from far, it is SUCH a let down to get there and have to turn back around. Parking is free on weekdays which is nice (or $5/day on weekends). I have not been to the area that is strictly a grass area with obstacles for the dogs (I've only been to the area with the water). Never seems too overcrowded, always plenty of space for people and dogs. Awesome dog park!! NOTHING in the area compares to this for a dog park with water. read more

I hadn't been Frisbee golfing in quite a long time. So when some friends were going this past weekend I was down to throw some discs. I had played years ago so luckily I still had a couple to use too. We met to tee off around 9am. There was not that many people at the park. There was over a dozen cars just in the front parking lot alone, but the park was big enough and had enough areas that it seemed like we were the only ones there. it only took a couple holes for me to notice this was a pretty good course. It started with some tough water holes, but it was possible to circle around and play the hole safe. there was also man-made elevated holes, tricky dogleg holes, wide open fields and woodsy holes too. After about the midpoint i started to feel good, made some good shots down the stretch. But whether I did well or not, it was a great day. It sounds like this is favorite of a few people, and I can see why! read more

Snyder Park is a 92.3 acre park north of the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. In 1914 S.P. Snyder and his son, Byron F. Snyder, became the first professional road contractors in Broward County. For forty years their company built many of the roads in the Ft. Lauderdale area. If the dogs and the owners wouldn't have minded me jumping in the lake, I would have. There was an event this weekend that was a Halloween Drive-Thru and later they had a Nightmare in the Park. It was so much fun!! The grounds are beautifully maintained. The Butterfly Garden has grown and you can sit on the benches that they provide to watch all of the beautiful butterflies land on the plants. Near the back of the park they have what is called an Edible Vegetation. On certain Saturdays, they have a tour with a tour guide that educates you on the park, the Butterfly Garden and the Edible Vegetation. read more

This is one of the best places to bring your dogs if you want to get them active & swimming. I brought both of my dogs here and who knew? They're both professional swimmers. If you bring your dogs on the weekend, chances are... the park will be packed (which is good) because when my dogs saw all of the other dogs swimming, they hopped right in to join. We've been here plenty of times, the dogs love to swim and fetch a tennis ball out of the water. It's really a big outdoor playground for your doggos. Definitely one of our favorite parks. read more

I absolutely love bringing my dogs here. It's the only man-made freshwater lake that is FREE and made for dogs that I have been able to find in the area. No, there are not alligators. It's fenced in, and like I said it's man-made. It's also monitored by Snyder Park staff, so if there was an alligator, it would be closed and the animal would be removed asap. Aside from that, the pups love it and had a blast swimming in the lake and playing fetch. If your dog isn't a fan of water, I wouldn't recommend coming here, as that's the main point of this specific section. If your dog isn't a fan of water, or if you want to take your pup to dry off after swimming like I do, there is another large dog park that is dry (grass and dirt) with a few agility obstacles set up. read more

This review is for Snyder Park as a COVID vaccine site. I found the vaccine drive through process to be organized, efficient and an overall pleasant experience driving through a lush park with mature trees. I'm directionally challenged but the drive was marked with clear signage and cones. Arrived around 2:30pm on a Tuesday and the whole process took maybe 50 min, including the 30 min observation area. There was no wait time or line for me. Slowest part was the 5mph speed limit and filling out the form - both paper and electronic for QR code. I could see someone more tech challenged or without a smart phone having issues filling the form out online, but maybe the person at that station would help them. read more

I have never been to this park even though its pretty close to my house. We walked through the gate and saw a small group of dogs were already there. We spent all of our time at the big dog area although there is a separate designated area just for small dogs. For a dog park this place is pretty big. And it even has a agility course with equipments where you can train your dogs (I guess its a workout for both the dogs and its owners). Most dogs here are friendly, so were the dog owners. For this UYE a few fellow Yelpers showed up with their dogs. I Ashley M. with her dog Siku, who is super active and super white...LOL. And also Jessica G's dog Rita, who is shy and pretty much hang around her mommy's feet all day. Later on Jennifer S came with her dog Julz, who likes to row on the grass and made her mommy mad...LOL. Sergio F arrived later, and unfortunately Luna was not able to make it to this event. But Sergio came with goodies: dog toys for all three dogs and a big box of beer jerky for dogs. It was very nice of him. We stayed for about two hours and left just before it started to rain. We all had a very good time watching our dogs play with each other. Too bad my dog Do Do was being kind of anti-social the whole day, hopefully he will be friendly enough for me to take him to the K-9 Cancer Walk later this month. read more

I love this park for my dogs however people are breaking in and stealing stuff. Make sure you lock your vehicle and nothing is valuable inside! If you were at the park on June 3, 2020 between 2:50-4:30pm please let me know if you saw anything! A police report was done, and my car was dusted for finger prints. There is a current tick problem I just discovered at Snyder park in the dog park big dog area. My dog showed up at the park still damp from a random bath. He is an inside dog and not around any pets in case Snyder Park wants to know. We played for over an hour. I took him home and noticed the first tick and then the second. Our past experience was horrible, fellow dog parent had his larger puppy whom was clearly not neutered probably not shots/vaccines either and this dog owner would allow his dog to run around unsupervised, trying to hump all the dogs and jumping on people including myself and the owner was just sitting on bench careless about his dog actions and got mad we said something. I went to a barbecue at Snyder Park this past weekend. I had never been there before. I didn't expect to find a large natural park in such a busy area. We were a large group The pavilion we were at was large with grills, plenty of tables and benches, and rest rooms next door. There are grassy areas and woods near the picnic grounds. There's a dog park and a swim area for dogs. The park also has a butterfly garden and plenty of places for hiking, games, volleyball, and other activities. I deducted one point because only service dogs are permitted in many areas including the BBQ pavilions. Since there's a dog park and swim area it would be nice if well behaved dogs could join their human parents on a hike, or for a picnic, or BBQ. read more
