I am a senior citizen new homeowner. I was told that Holiday Pools was the company that serviced the pool (which they installed for the previous owner). I booked them to come to open my pool right after I closed last fall. I was in contact with them as they had replaced the liner right before closing the pool. I was quoted a price of $265 to open the pool and I was ASSURED I would be showed how to use the equipment and the pool "would be beautiful". They came yesterday and "opening" the pool consisted of taking the cover off throwing in shock and algeacite turning on the motor and leaving. NO CLEANING of the pool or the equipment was done. When I told him I was a first time pool owner and asked questions, the service man told me he was alloted 20 minutes for the service call and had no time to show me anything or answer my questions. He told me they do not "clean" pools or the equipment, that was my responsibility? He then handed me a bill for $300. I called the office quite upset as I have no pool company other than them and I have no idea how to clean a pool much less the equipment. I was told they have only one person that "cleans" pools and he is booked solid for the season. I explained I booked my appointent LAST SEPTEMBER and at that time they knew I was the new owner of the property and needed full service. I also advised her the price I was quoted by Michelle was $265 not $300. She was very nasty and told me they don't clean pools and they had "opened" the pool. I again reiterated I was a new owner and had no idea how to maintain a pool. She became very irritated with me and told me to tear up their bill and "go your way and we will go our way". She then hung up on me. I called multiple pool companies trying to schedule service and AS EXPECTED they are all booked for the summer. The search for a pool company continues... Thanks Holiday Pools for the mess you left me. If I knew what you consider a pool "opening" I would have found another company last September and not depended on Holiday Pools. Everything is bad about this company. Its starts with Shelly then list of clowns come and execute jobs and then you are the mercy of 3 sisters (original owner's daughters). They did pretty lowsy job and they talk big when shelly sells you the pool but after inking it, disaster starts. I wish we had used someone else. We will take them to Court pretty soon. read more

We contracted with Holiday Pools based on a recommendation from friends who used them a few years ago to install their pool. Holiday is a family run company and we were happy to support a small business. While we ran into some delays based on OUR choice of changing pool size and location (so we were subject to the delays of our town engineering and inspection), Holiday stayed on top of our project and was there immediately after each inspection was completed to work on the next phase of the project. Michelle and Carol were great to work with and they take pride in the work that they do. They took an extremely pitched backyard (that really had no future for an in ground pool) and turned our backyard into the oasis that we had dreamed of. We would definitely use them again! read more

After two (2) years of exploring if we should put a in ground pool in, We decided to do it. When you call Holiday Pools you will get a salesman by the name of Shelly that will come out to your home. Shelly will sit down at your kitchen table with you and show you a very nice laminated photo book telling you his own family stories with pictures of his grandchildren(Remember he is a salesman) Shelly will then show you the regular pool price and then how much he will take off for you. Shelly will then tell you a retaining wall is around $5000 average NOT TRUE mine was $15,000. Shelly will then show you pictures how his pool Holiday is different than any other(MY liner came loose ) the first season. Shelly will show you how great his salt filter is ( I just paid another pool company $430.00 because the lateral was not put in right with stone under the salt blowing sand all the first season last year open into my pool . Shelly will then tell you he will give you a light that changes colors ( Yes 4 lens cover come with it and you have to climb into the pool and put these cheap covers on to change the color). Shelly will promise you a date to start and that will never happen for weeks after the contrast signed. Holiday will come and rip up your lawn & neighbors lawn without any care leaving it that way . Holiday thought they were doing me a favor coming out the first year my pool was open to fix a light . Really Holiday $37500.00 a favor to come out . Here is the kicker of it all . Time to start digging ..Backhoe arrives here everyone excited in my house . Backhoe makes two digs and stops OMG Backhoe operator tells me he hit water and needs another $6000.00 to continue. Really Shelly ..... The soil couldn't have been tested while you were selling us the pool .. NOTE** Please do not use Holidays concrete company MADEIRA Concrete Inc 43 Providence Street Newark . The owner is very arrogant to deal with $25,000 for concrete separate from Holidays Charges . Check this out .... I had initially a really bad experience with Holiday Pools but Michelle made me revise that opinion due to her customer centricity and excellent attitude. She corrected all the issues and definitely has turned our opinion around to a positive one. If you want to be lied to then definitely go here. Was told one date (Memorial Day weekend) and they did not finish our pool until mid September. They also told us that they wouldn't pay for the devastation they did to our yard while building the pool. (Grass/yard). They did end up paying for it but not after a bit of an argument ensued. read more

Family run business that has been in Freehold for a pretty long time. Very nice girls, and they all know their shit when it comes to pools. They installed out in ground pool a few years ago and it is a great pool. You can't beat them for the price either!! Their pools are concrete walls and a hand troweled portland sand mix for the floor. The pools have a liner. You can go to any of the other local pool dealers and pay more for a pool, but you would be a fool to do it. Steel wall pools stand a good chance of collapsing if they get emptied and it can happen. Other concrete pools such as Anthony/Sylvan, don't use a liner. They have a gunite coating that must be reapplied about every 6 to 8 years at a cost of about $6,000 !!!!! Did I mention that Anthony pools start at around $35,000!!!! If you just need you water tested, or picking up some chemicals or parts for your pool, Holiday is the place to go. They wont try to sell you what you don't need and if they detect a problem with your water, then you probably do have that problem. It's family owned and managed by sweet and very knowledgeable ladies. We just bought a house with a pool and are new to the area. My hubbie and I are clueless about pool chemistry and mechanics. They took pity on me and came to my house on a Saturday morning to show us how everything worked. She was very gracious and patient with sharing her knowledge. She spent almost 2 hrs cleaning our pool, showing us how to use the filtration system, the vacuum and testing the water chemistry AND she didn't accept any money for it. Wow! I think most other companies charge ~ $300 for this kind of orientation. There is no need to go anywhere else for my pool supplies. Thanks to their help my pool is looking pretty fine. My pool structure and surrounds are a mess! But, that's another story and a different fix. read more

Buyer beware!!! We had a contract with Holiday Pools this past summer. Shelly and the girls in the office are not organized and do not keep up with their clients. We had to call every week to make sure they were moving along with our permits....most phone calls went unanswered. Too many times they did not know where our paper work (surveys and what not) were. Once permits were finally submitted, 4 weeks after signing the contract, the township engineer had to request the same changes be done multiple times, because Holiday did not follow the original outlined requests. Holiday did not respond to the township's requests multiple times which would lead us to have to call them and tell them to check their email and respond to the township. This WAS NOT a township issue, as the township was amazing with keeping us in the loop, answering all questions we had IMMEDIATELY and turning the permits around in 24-48 hours. 4 months after paying our deposit, and after leaving multiple messages and emails, we had to cancel our contract with Holiday and move to a different pool company because our approved permits were sitting in the township office for 4 weeks...where Holiday left them and forgot about us. I think the biggest problem with this company is they are not able to keep up with the amount of pools they sign each year. Their customer service is not anything to shout about and they are VERY hard to reach!! In the end the price they show you when pitching the pool is not what you end up paying. And they sell a fully concrete pool....it is not fully concrete. They have concrete poured walls...to a certain depth. the floor is not concrete. Put an extra 5K out and you can have a custom gunite pool from a company with current technology to help build your backyard, a much better response time and top notch customer service!!
