He walked through all the steps to understand my pain, assess my needs, and explain the various components of chiropractic care that they'd recommend. It's really cool how they can feel your bones and know exactly what's going on to cause you pain. He's great at explaining the "why" behind the pain and giving tips to mitigate. My second visit was with Dr. Kang and she pinpointed the challenging area and confirmed she could feel where the pain was emanating from, and knew exactly what to do to help provide relief in the area. The entire team -- doctors and staff -- all make each patient feel warm, welcomed, and cared for. They're a talented bunch! She wanted me to give her at least 3 months because acupuncture (and most eastern medicine) itself is not a fast treatment as your body has to adjust and slowly heal yourself from within. But also a women's eggs each cycle, are nurtured 3 months in advance. I conceived naturally by the end of month 3. My IVF doctor had given me a 7% chance at ever conceiving naturally but here I am today, with a healthy baby and it's all thanks to Jennifer! When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist immediately informed me that Eastern Roots was not in-network with United Healthcare and that I could instead submit an out-of-network claim. That was not an acceptable option, as out-of-network costs are significantly higher. It was clear the practice knew this in advance but failed to notify me until after I had driven over an hour to get there. When I requested a refund--since I was unwilling to proceed with a provider that misrepresented their insurance status--they refused, citing their 24-hour cancellation policy. However, I hadn't canceled the appointment; I arrived in good faith, expecting coverage. Only once I learned the true facts, which the clinic already knew, did I decline to continue. To make matters worse, the owner, Sarah Alemi, did not speak with me directly and instead sent an email referencing the cancellation policy. At this point, I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. I would strongly caution others to verify network participation and transparency before booking with this practice

It has taken deliberate effort to trust the process. In my experience, my discouraging moments simply came from forgetting where I started and why I was there. Sensitivity to the treatment varies by the person so expectations to be healed by a certain number of sessions are futile.
