Once you select the flavor or varietal, you fill a bottle, which come in three sizes. I'm a huge fan and user of olive oils and can't wait to try several of the flavors. Seriously impressive! They even come in gift boxes so pick some up for hostess gives. Everyone always brings a bottle of wine but I prefer bringing a bottle of fine olive oil as it lasts way past the at night and the hostess can enjoy for many weeks. They even have cooking classes, which I hope will continue during these never ending Covid days. i will definitely going to sign up. Live cooking various cuisines and taking a class is the best way to get familiar with spice combinations and techniques. Staff is super helpful and friendly but not in any way pushy. But it's the customer service that really stands out. On my way to a pig roast, I went to Angel's Bajery downtown, who always has trays of the molasses pig cookies. Not this day! So I did a search for Mexican Markets which led me to La Michoacana, a bright yellow building further up in a neighborhood. I found bags of mixed pastries up on the top area, but no bags of just pig cookies. The bags were only $10 each, but I couldn't justify buying 6 bags just to get a few of the desired cookies. The young lady working that day said, "give me a minute." Then she came back with a bag of the cookies, after taking all the bags apart and rearranging the packages so that I could buy a half dozen cookies. What? Now that's service. So of course while I was there, I loaded up on pantry items, tortillas, bought the carnitas and some fresh tamales, plus the cookies. Her helpfulness resulted in me making a much larger purchase than intended. When I brought the tray to the party, everyone thought it was a genius idea - so cute, pig cookies at a pig roast - and after I told the story, everyone asked for the name and address so they could support this business. I love their selection of products…read more The price tags are slightly on the higher side for certain items, but are more or less comparable with Safeway, overall. Their bakery, deli, and pastries are slightly better than the competition, and their natural/health food section is much more modern/comprehensive. From the bakery, I recently had one of their "Persian" donuts, which was basically a frosted cinnamon roll, and it was really good. This afternoon, I ordered a custom sandwich from their deli, and it was amazing. While this wasn't the very best grocery store sandwich I've ever had in my life, it was probably one of the top five. I ordered Black Forest Ham and Swiss on Sourdough with chipotle ranch (instead of mayo) and all the veggies except jalapenos. The customer service was phenomenal. I thought it was kind of weird to stand there and order my sandwich verbally while the clerk took notes like a waitress (management, if you're reading this, please consider putting out sandwich order forms for customers to fill out, like a normal deli), but she did such a great job. She was really sweet, too. When I opened up my sandwich wrapper, I saw a whole rainbow of vegetables, which was exactly what I wanted. I should have taken a picture-- it was a very Instagrammable sandwich-- but I was so hungry and exhausted (it's been a rough few days), I just devoured it like a ravenous feral beast. Everything was as fresh and delicious as could be, and the sandwich was so big I could barely finish it. Definitely top tier for a grocery store deli. I've also stopped by several times now for a few small items at a time, and have had all great experiences. I think I may have encountered some expired chocolate my first trip here, but that turned out to be a fluke, and hasn't happened again since. All things considered, this is my favorite grocery store in the area.

You definitely have to watch prices very carefully in a number of ways. The regular price at Rosauers will often be substantially higher than Safeway, particularly if Safeway has a special. For instance, Califia non-dairy milks are often $4.49 at Safeway, and today were $7.49 at Rosauers. Sale prices at Rosauers can make things more competitive. BUT... you HAVE to watch the prices as you're scanning or ringing up on your own. I now take a photo of the shelf tags on anything with a sale price. Otherwise, I'd say between 30% & 50% of the time, the price in their system hasn't been updated to reflect their shelf tag price. Even losing $1 or $2 a week on the failure to match system price with a discount price adds up. The bad part of even taking the photo is that if you didn't notice but then checked as you were ready to leave means you have to go wait in the customer service line, show your receipt, phone photos, and item, get it written up, and then get your $ back. So take the photos, watch as it's scanned, and call someone over as soon as you see the wrong price appearing. If you shop there once a week and save $2/week by catching their tagging mistakes, that's over $100 saved a year. It holds true in produce as well. ALSO ... watch carefully for which shelf tag refers to what item. They don't always get them correct, so you may see a tag that says $5.99 for an item, but it's referring to the item ABOVE your item (which is $8.99 instead). Caveat emptor is the reigning motto at Rosauers!

Clothing is brand new, never worn, and ranges from t-shirts to jackets to sweatpants to sweaters and accessories. You never know what you will find as product is always moving. Same with food items. Pasta, cookies, cereal, canned veggies and fruit, candy, bread, coffee, seasonings, soda, bottle water, lots of snacks and more. They are close to expiration but most have a shelf life far past that date. Items are arranged neatly and easy to see and find. Lots of cleaning products, too. Many are the Awesome brand found at the Dollar stores but they also have the main brands like Clorox, Windex, Snuggle, etc. What brought me in was the rakes, shovels and yard tools. They had a large assortment and at much better prices than big box or local chains. Even some planters in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors for far less money than elsewhere. Like $5-10. You need to wander around as the store has aisles going both vertical and horizontal and pathways that lead to areas which I guess could be considered a "department" like the garden supplies. Those working here are always unpacking items, arranging product and keeping the store organized and clean. They are super friendly and helpful, too.
