Above and Beyond: A 10-Star Review for a Life-Changing Facility…read more If it were possible to rate this place higher than five stars, I wouldn't hesitate for a second! The level of care and compassion my Uncle Macho received here was absolutely extraordinary. From the moment he was admitted, it felt like a team of angels--dressed in scrubs--took over with hearts full of love and hands skilled in healing. The nurses and staff treated him not just with kindness, but with a level of dignity and devotion that deeply moved our entire family. Despite his complicated health challenges, every team member approached him care with such grace, empathy, and professionalism that it left us in awe. They didn't just meet his needs--they anticipated them, embraced them, and handled them with such gentle care it felt magical. What touched me most was how they nurtured his spirit as much as his body. They spoke to him with genuine affection, offered comfort in every gesture, and celebrated even the smallest milestones with joy. Their passion for what they do shines through every moment. This facility is far more than just a place for treatment--it's a true sanctuary. A nurturing space where healing happens not just through medicine, but through warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication. To the remarkable staff and nurses--specially to Ms Narine and her husband Mr George. thank you for restoring not just my Uncle's health, but our faith, our joy, and our peace of mind. You gave us back the man we love, and for that, we will always be grateful. If you want care that goes beyond expectations, this is the place you've been looking for.

I'm happy to say we had a very positive experience over the 20 days my dad was there. First off it's super clean, the staff is so friendly and helpful and they were very attentive to my dad. When my mom needed help sometimes, she had to wait, once for 1 1/2 hours just to use the restroom. When a CNA is on break or with another patient there is no coverage even when other CNA's are doing nothing. Upon leaving, my mom said she needed to use the restroom and the CNA said I just took her. I told them it was a 45 minute ride back to Thousand Oaks but they did not care. I drove with my mom upset the entire way Luckily, when we arrived at the assisted living they found a wheelchair and 2 of their people took my mom immediately to the bathroom. The food at Northridge looked disgusting although my mom ate it. Sometimes I brought her food. This facility is understaffed and needs remodeling before I would ever recommend it!!

Although both of their positions tend to be more administrative in nature, they genuinely and whole-heartedly enjoy connecting with and greeting every child who walks through the door with such grace and compassion. They know every name of every child and every sibling! They make every child feel seen and heard the second they walk in the door. Nothing warms a mom's heart more than to see other people care for your kids with the same love and compassion that you yourself do. They are amazing! Two of my three children have received services from McRory. Dana at the front desk jokes we live here! Hey, there's no better second home in my opinion! My son, Peyton, received OT from Zoe for a year. Zoe is nothing short of superior! And my youngest, Lily, has been receiving OT from Zoe since she was two (she's now four.) Zoe is amazing. She pays such attention to detail and cares deeply about my children's progress, growth, and overall emotional well being. She goes above and beyond in every aspect of her job and we deeply and whole-heartedly appreciate her. We love Zoe! Lily also sees Maddy for speech. WE LOVE MADDY! She brings such warmth, fun, knowledge and attentiveness to every session single session we spend with her. She makes each session fun and fresh and finds creative ways to push my daughter's speech progress along without Lily constantly feeling put on the spot to perform. She is always challenging Lily, but does so in the most nurturing and supportive ways possible. Her preparation is second to none. Every session has a game plan and she's constantly pushing Lily's language forward but she's so skilled in doing so in the most organic and natural of ways. The PT department is amazing as well! We've seen Amanda for years, who simply is the best of the best. We truly consider her a friend who cares about our family outside the constraints of her workplace. Since Amanda is no longer in clinic, we've had the privilege of recently working with Rosa and Megan! When specialists and staff who genuinely care are helping to shape the overall well being and life trajectory of your children, you can't help but feel anything short of gratitude. McRory is a loving, supportive, amazing safe space for my kids, and I couldn't appreciate them and the incredible work they do anymore. Thank you McRory! WE LOVE YOU!

I hate to leave a one star because my son has received services from this agency before for PT. I…read moredecided to bring him back because our experience was great with a different therapist. We met with Dennis. My son is a 5 year (almost 6 year old child) primarily none speaking boy who has Autism. Dennis probably has seen my son about 5-6 sessions and sometimes, (not always) my son has difficulty in engaging, however does at least one exercise. He is only there for 25mins with authorization, and I informed Dennis I will get another authorization but provide effective treatment and meet my son where he is at. Biggest problem are the toys that are visible and out. My son also has low muscle tone and gets easily tired, which has been told to me by other professionals. Today during Leo's session in the new office (third time in the Woodland Hills office/initial assessment and two sessions including today) Dennis was unprofessional and unethical. He laughed at my face in front of at least 3 people. Instead of focusing on my child's needs he was more focused on what I'm doing for my child and how I don't discipline him. My son sees about over 7 other external therapists for different services during the week and each provides effective and ethical service/sessions. In the Sherman Oaks office we have always arrived early and he had a client and had us wait 2X when it was my son's time, and I never said anything. Today I left the office having anxiety and shaking. I told the front desk girl to have the office manager call me and another staff was able to reduce my anxiety so I can safely drive myself and my son to his next therapy. I contacted the licensing board too because I don't ever want another child with Autism to be treated in such a way. I will be waiting to hear back from the management to understand what steps will be taken. All of my son's therapists are supporting, caring, loving, respectful, ethical, and have good therapeutic boundaries, and those are the only people I want on my son's team. Again this is not about the agency. Even the lady who completed my son's initial assessment was so respectful and caring towards my son. His previous therapist Trisha was amazing too. This review is for Dennis. I hope in the future he will do a better job in consulting with his supervisor , asking for guidance in how to work well with a client he is struggling with, hold strong therapeutic boundaries, and practice ethically.

My 11-year-old son underwent double hip surgery in February and was referred to this facility by…read morehis surgeon for physical therapy. Throughout his treatment, we followed the clinic's policies exactly as they were explained to us. At our first appointment, we were informed that my son would attend therapy sessions independently while a parent or guardian remained in the waiting room. We were also told that an adult over the age of 18 would need to be present during evaluation appointments. My husband typically brought our son to his therapy sessions and waited in the lobby while our son completed treatment, and we never had any issues. Recently, the clinic moved to a new location. During our first visit at the new facility, my son had a scheduled evaluation appointment. My husband was unavailable that day, so I brought my son along with my two younger children, including my infant in a stroller. Because it was an evaluation appointment, I understood that I needed to accompany my son to the treatment area. When my son's name was called, I followed him to the back with my younger children. A staff member at the front desk immediately told me that I could not bring my children back there. I explained that my children were very young and that I could not leave them unattended in the waiting room. As I continued toward the treatment area, she repeated that I should not bring them and stated, "Next time, don't bring them." I approached her to clarify what she meant because I thought I may have misunderstood. She again stated that I should not bring my children to future appointments. I explained that I rarely attend these appointments because I am home caring for my younger children, that my husband normally brings our son, and that I was only present because this was an evaluation appointment requiring an adult to accompany him. I also explained that I had no one available to watch my children and could not leave an infant and young child alone in the waiting room. After the appointment, I spoke with another front desk employee regarding the interaction. Instead of addressing my concern, I was told that the reason the staff member said not to bring my children was because they could not directly tell me to hire a babysitter. I found this response extremely unprofessional and insensitive. Not every family has access to childcare, and suggesting that parents simply find a babysitter is not a reasonable solution. If this facility has a policy prohibiting children from accompanying a parent during evaluation appointments, that policy should be clearly communicated before appointments are scheduled. Families should be informed in advance so they can make other arrangements or seek care elsewhere if necessary. My concern is not about having rules or policies. It is about how the situation was handled. The interaction lacked professionalism, understanding, and basic courtesy toward a parent who was simply trying to comply with the clinic's requirements while caring for young children. Parents considering this facility should ask about its policies regarding children before scheduling appointments.
