That sounded reasonable, so I agreed. I brought the carburetor back in, was told it would be ready the next day, and to their credit, they did call me the following afternoon to say it was done. When I came to pick it up, I also bought a bottle of oil for an oil change, which was $10. At checkout, I was told the total was $67. I questioned the price because I was explicitly quoted $25 for the cleaning. Only then was I told that it "needed a rebuild kit," which added $27, something that was never discussed, approved, or even mentioned beforehand. To be clear: * Original quoted price: $25 * Added rebuild kit (without notice): $27 * That is a 108% increase over the quoted price ($27 ÷ $25 = 108%) * And that's before the $10 oil purchase The carburetor itself had been used fewer than five times, and while I admit I made the mistake of leaving gas in it (with stabilizer), I was never shown or clearly explained what was actually rebuilt. All the parts looked the same, and I was handed two extra gaskets that didn't even fit. The biggest issue here isn't the repair, it's the lack of communication and authorization. You don't double the cost of a service without calling the customer first. Had I been told upfront, I could have made an informed decision. This experience left a bad taste, and unfortunately, I wouldn't return or recommend this place based on how this was handled.

The owner's name is actually Henry, and he was pleasant and helpful as we discussed questions and next steps for my snow blower repair needs. Note: Ray's does not schedule appointment dates for snow blower repairs or tune-ups before November. This makes sense, as Henry explained, he recommends you service seasonal equipment at the beginning of its designed season to guarantee trouble free operation. Scheduling the mobile truck service was quick and easy via Ray's web page, confirmation emails and calendar events are sent to the customer. You Do NOT have to be present for the appointment as long as the equipment is accessible on your property. The service ticket is left in your mailbox, and final payment can be handled by phone. Henry was prompt and professional for my mobile service appointment and the repairs were completed to my satisfaction and for a reasonable price. Ray's provides a 30 day service warranty on travel and labor and 90 day factory warranty on parts. I highly recommend Ray's Mower Shop for your onsite or mobile servicing needs. I couldn't find anyone even close on price at the time for my Hustler mower. Yes the shop is exactly what you would expect of a small motor shop where they work on motors. It's not going to be a sterile operating room. It is what it is.... But I need a mower fixed, or served, not open heart surgery. This past week my mower broke mid cut. Half of my front lawn was low half high... total disaster and it just looked comical and embarrassing. They actually came out picked my mower up, fixed it that day and brought it back so I could finish the lawn. Service like this is why a patronize this business. I took my 10yrar old Z435 John Deere zero turn mower to Little's, telling them it cuts off when…read morethe blade is engaged and it started making a noise. After they looked it over, the noise was just a loose belt guide, but they gave me an estimate for $3,995 and said the engine needs replaced and other issues, also said it smoked (which i never noticed). Another repair option they gave was to rebuild the engine for $2,889, but said it did not include other non engine repairs. Little's gave me the option of trading my mower in for a new one (comparable to $5k). They offered me only a credit of $228 to cover the work they did finding issues. I declined, paid the $228 and took it to Hensel's Mower Service in Parkesburg Pa., and said the same thing...that it cuts off when I engage the blades. After a week, they said it was done. I picked it up and cut my entire lawn. No issues, no smoke, perfect. Hensel's cost was $399.07...not $3,995. This included them changing all fluids, filters, belts, sharpened blades. PLEASE ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! Little's would have fixed my mower for cheap, then resold for a profit if I would have traded it in for the $228 cost of them 'going over' the mower

Brad is great in the rental department! We also buy our equipment from Harter and we have made several mid-size and small trackhoe purchases from Harter. A serviced my lawnmower three months ago and I called because it was not starting. The young man walked me through what I needed to do to start it and I hung up the phone. By the time I got to trying to charge the battery I saw someone pull up to my driveway, which was the young man, and he had come to help me charge the battery. This is amazing customer service. They did not even ask me for any kind of payment. I really appreciate going over and above.
