I went to my class reunion at the ranch. It was a very nice place. I like the setup of the event especially how spacious it was for eating and dancing but didn't like the walk up the hill especially after a couple of drinks. lol! All in all it was a great place for reunions and weddings. read more

An incredibly beautiful and well run venue! Very versatile. We hosted our baby shower here but it's soooo large with so many options that it would make for an epic wedding venue as well. So clean. So much parking. Really really cool vintage barn. Offers so many amenities that the other venues just do not have. Above all else. The scenery and views are legit unmatched in San Luis Obispo. Wen't here for a wedding in September. It was beautiful. The ranch that is. Free running horses, a pond with a springboard (although I'm sure the pond is probably too shallow to dive into), a barn decorated for nightlife, and mountains that help create the most fantastic sunsets this part of California. Holland Ranch has a gorgeous ceremony site. It really is breathtaking. I love the stage and ceremony arch. The barn doesn't look as tacky as some pictures would lead you to believe. The price is nice and the freedom to use any vendors you like is awesome. However, it is across the street from a landfill (makes you think twice about that cute little pond) and meeting Jaime was like going on a bad first date. I could tell before our venue tour that she had a very distracted personality and was a little too laid back for me. I like laid back but not when I'm dropping a few thousand dollars on a venue. On the tour she said a lot of weird things like thinking it's weird that I was only interested in two venues (I do my homework!) and seemed lost in thought or disinterested. Like any bad first date, everyone was polite and walked away like "thank god that is over". Jaime seems sweet enough and has experience at her family ranch but she's just not for me. We will not be using Holland Ranch because we fell in love with our other venue & don't want our friends to have to turn right just after the landfill. I do have to say though that I would use the blue chairs for the reception (probably not for the ceremony). Ha, they aren't for everyone but I kind of loved them. read more

This place is beautiful. Was here for my cousins wedding. The ceremony over looked the hills and valley with the sun setting in the background. The barn space for dinner, dancing, and drinking was also great. The porta potties were clean and pretty fancy with full lighting, running sink, etc. Impressive. While it is quite a ways out of San Luis Obispo, it was a beautiful drive through the hills. Would definitely recommend this location for any party or wedding. read more

I got married here in 2011. It was the perfect venue and Jaime was the perfect wedding planner. She knew her stuff, was honest and got stuff done. I've been in a lot of weddings and I've never had a wedding run as smoothly as ours and that was solely because Jaime was in charge. The real reason I'm writing this review is because I read some of the other reviews and I can't respond personally to those so I'm going to say my peace here. OK people who complain and knock off a star because of the landfill...SERIOUSLY? That has nothing to do with Holland Ranch and there is nothing they can do about that. I find those reviews idiotic. And then the reviews that complain about Jaime but then they never even truly worked with her? They met her for maybe 10 minutes!? Also, idiotic! This venue is a perfect location nestled close to San Luis Obispo downtown. The back drop is picture perfect right around sunset. The friendly owners won't restrict your fun unlike some other venues in the area. Between Jaime @ Holland, a DJ, and a caterer; there is no need for any planner. When your event is dying down; downtown SLO is a quick ride to keep the night alive. I would highly recommend this venue looking for a place to hold an event or wedding! read more

Absolutely beautiful & surreal. The barn itself is spacious and charming. There's a full kitchen inside (ovens, refrigerator, stove, etc) and there's a large bar area in the main dance floor. The main outdoor barnyard area is huge, but if the weather suddenly takes a turn for the worst it's easy to move everything indoors. read more

We just got married at Holland Ranch. The property is absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony site offered us an amazing, one-of-a-kind backdrop which was perfect for photos. The barn where the reception was held, had great decor, a stage perfect for the band, and a full kitchen which the caterers definitely appreciated. The bridal suite above the barn was surprisingly spacious and really nicely decorated. 6 bridesmaids, all the female family members, 2 photographers, and 2 hair and makeup stylists were comfortable in there while helping get me (the bride) ready before the ceremony. Although everything the site had to offer was great, possibly the best part about having our wedding at Holland Ranch was the onsite coordinator Jackie Romig. Jackie was extraordinarily patient and organized throughout the wedding planning process, and she was always available to help answer questions or provide suggestions in a very non-pushy but knowledgeable way. Her great sense of humor didn't hurt either! She was present throughout the rehearsal, was really dependable, and kept things moving smoothly on our big day. Our guests were really impressed with how spacious the venue was, and were relieved to know it was safe to park their cars overnight and pick up the next day. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the pond area and horses on the lower level of the property. We highly recommend Holland Ranch and could not have asked for a more special wedding day experience. read more

I had my wedding here 11/14/2015. Jaime was such a pleasure to work with. The ranch is beautiful and all of my guests were so in love with the entire venue. The day of coordinating from Jaime was so helpful, she took care of any little detail and made sure I was always updated with what was going on. The suit is such an amazing room to get ready in, I loved being able to spy on my groom and guests as they arrived. It was so nice being able to wake up there and start getting ready! The owners are the SWEETEST people- Ronny came around during our wedding saying hi to everyone and the next day checked up to make sure everything went well. Moreso- the venue just WORKS and there are so many PROs to having your wedding/event here. How amazing and stunning the natural beauty is- the surrounding mountains, the picturesque pond, the luscious green ceremony site with perfect wooden stage and arch, lovely rustic barn with elements of eveywhere and everything. Another pro? The fact that you get the venue for the entire weekend, decreasing the stress of setting up and breaking down the same day. The cost is WORTH IT (and SO much cheaper than a 1 day wedding in SoCal). The site is majestic, hidden, private, and makes a 300 person wedding feel like a 50 person wedding. The bridal suite is the MOST GORGEOUS thing ever, I could live there. Love the chairs, decoration, full bathroom and kitchen. Downstairs the barn is decked out with a mini stage and the cutest piano that ever did exist. I used it for our cake, candy and dessert bar. There is a rustic steel bar with ample counterspace behind it. There is a full sized kitchen with two massive fridges, a pool table, and one additional restroom inside. They don't have a website but this place is pretty darn cool if you can book it. It's a popular place for weddings and I can see why. The farm style open area and barn are perfect for those shabby chic wedding photos everyone is after these days and I love that the wedding area is only a few steps away from the reception area (boo people who make their guests drive). I can't say enough great things about Jamie and Holland Ranch! When we decided to have our wedding on the central coast and went venue hunting, we knew when we turned into Holland Ranch that it was just the place for us. The ceremony venue is jaw-dropping spectacular - especially with the right lighting - we were married just after the sun dipped behind the peak. We had our guests dine under the stars and bistro lights outside, then had the real party in the barn. You step into the barn and just know that you and your guests are going to let loose and enjoy a rip-roaring party. Jamie was the best to work with, even though she is an extremely busy lady with LOTS of couples to coordinate with, she was always available leading up to the wedding to answer my questions and offer advice based on other weddings at the venue. When I brought all of my crazy ideas and decorations, she arranged everything in a way that was better than I could have ever imagined. I was so grateful that while I was getting ready for the wedding, all of my ideas that I had imagined in my head were going to come to life with Jamie and her crew. Jamie also had wonderful recommendations for wedding vendors, which was great since we don't live in the area. And, she totally understood that we didn't have an endless cash flow and offered ideas and advice that were budget friendly. I felt like I was working with a good, trusted friend throughout the process and never felt I was being taken advantage of or hit with surprise costs - as I know a lot of couples feel when planning their wedding. We are from Dana Point, about 6 hours sounth, and unable to be in SLO to make many important decisions (cake, linens, decor, etc...). We just got married at Holland Ranch on Saturday, August 23rd! I fell completely in love with this property immediately. It is breathtaking. The ceremony location is so lovely and has a great stage with an arch. We hung a homemade twig heart from it! You don't need to do too much decorating at this venue. It is so beautiful, everyone will be looking around at the views. This venue has a beautiful bridal suite above the barn, complete with a fridge, sink, bathroom, bed and a lot of seating. I had a tiny bridal party (just one girl), but there is lots of room for a larger bridal party. The barn is so fun! Lots of country decor, a great stage for the DJ or cake and lots of space for dancing. My wedding was perfect. I could not have asked for anything more. It all came together and was so wonderful. I spent about 5 minutes going over my decorations the Thursday before the wedding. Jaime is so talented. She decorated the entire venue for me and it looked spectacular. I was so impressed. The ranch is beautiful complete with one of the most iconic views in San Luis Obispo county...think Pride Rock from the Lion King. Ceremony location with the view of the rock and beautiful archway are top notch and the reception location is an excellent place to party. The bridal sweet is a perfect spot to prepare for the day with plenty of room and beautiful furnishings. And the staff at the ranch are incredibly helpful and polite. Excellent spot!!! read more

Holland Ranch was the perfect wedding reception venue for our daughters wedding May 3, 2014 This was a destination wedding for all. Jaime Strand @ Holland Ranch is very professional, we turned it over to her and she delivered. The Wedding reception was beautiful and she and her staff took excellent care of all the details. We used her choices for vendors and we were not disappointed. I had read other reviews of this Ranch and their concerns. As we drove from San Luis Obispo to Holland Ranch, although, we passed an airport, train tracks and the entrance to a Landfil, the majority of the ride was driving thru picturesque Edna Valley. With pastures, wineries with their vineyards and rolling hills of massive oak trees. A perfect example of the Central Coast for our out of state guests to see. Once on the ranch the topography was such that the only views were of the ranch nestled in a canyon and a mountain of rock out croppings and the valley scattered with wild flowers, leaving our guests in awe. We dropped off all the decorations the day before with a visual of how we wanted the entire barn, tables, banquet tables, head table, guest tables, each with its unique center pieces and flowers. I had to let go and give it up to Jaime and her staff. When we returned for the Wedding Reception.... WOW. She made our vision come to life. It was a MAGICAL evening. She coordinated all the vendors, she stayed on site the entire evening and everything ran smooth. We never had to think twice about anything. Thank you Jaime, you were awesome ! read more

We were looking for a place in the SLO area for our wedding and visited Holland Ranch. First, we loved the setting. It was absolutely beautiful and had a very picturesque rock formation backdrop for the ranch. We also loved that the ranch venue has tiered with different leveled areas for various parts of the wedding, which makes the venue so much more interesting. It also came with a number of nice touches, such as cute market lighting over the seating area. The entrance to the Ranch is so cute, and it is incredibly private, which is something we were looking for. The Ranch also has a great "garage" area that has country/vintage-style decor with a cool stage which would be perfect for a band (or DJ). Unfortunately, we were super not impressed with the landfill across the street. Obviously, we couldn't tell it was there without reading the signage, but it just kind of took away from our interest in the venue. Next, we weren't crazy about having the dinner portion of the event in the "driveway" area of the ranch. Albeit nicely paved, it felt like we were literally eating in someone's home's driveway - not really our style. Lastly, as Ruthie mentioned, we really didn't connect well with the owner's daughter, Jamie (who also serves as their venue manager). Jamie was super distracted and rushed through our tour. Unfortunately, we did visit on a Saturday, before a wedding, and she was down a helper, so we COMPLETELY understood that she needed to focus on the wedding, but as a potential client (who had driven several hours to visit), we felt working with her would not be a fit for our group. read more

We just got married at Holland Ranch in January. Even though they had never had a wedding in January because it is an outdoor venue, Jaime and everyone else were so accommodating and helpful! The venue was beautiful and super green from all of the rain! The day of our wedding ended up being gorgeous and 78 degrees. Jaime was SO, SO helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was so laid back and was understanding and flexible for all of our wedding details. We were able to plan our day exactly how we wanted it from the get-go. Our wedding day honestly would not have gone so smoothly without Jaime facilitating the entire day. She set up everything for us and even went out of her way to buy stuff for our drink stations and tables. The whole day was perfect and we are so, so happy that we got married at Holland Ranch. I got married at Holland Ranch September 27th and I couldn't be happier with our decision to have our wedding there. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and so different from your average wedding. We had about 285 guests and the ranch fit all of them perfectly. The pictures from our wedding are fabulous with the beautiful background the ranch has to offer. We got the privilege with working with Jamie and she was fabulous. She knows how to get stuff done and made our special day so perfect. We didn't have to worry about a thing with Jamie's help. She recommended the perfect caterer, band, rentals, photographer, etc that a bride can ask for. All of our guests LOVED Holland Ranch and still are talking about what an awesome time they had. We loved the barn and what a fun vibe it gave our wedding. The bar tenders Jamie provided were awesome and nobody had to wait for a cold beer! I would recommend Holland Ranch and Jamie to any bride.
