It is an old house turned into a B&B near downtown Frederick. There are 4 guest bedrooms on the second floor, and the first floor is living room, dining room and a game room (billiard). It is well maintained and all the fun restaurants in the downtown area start in a short 5-min walk away. They have a small fridge filled with goodies that are complimentary, including Canis Major series from Flying Dog brewery-- really good beers. The breakfast was only so-so. They give you a lot of food but the quality was sub-par. The couple is super friendly and they LOVE to talk to you (and not necessarily listen to you). So they may sit with you through your breakfast. Overall a decent pick for $135 for a night.

Hollerstown Hill Bed & Breakfast is located in an adorable old house, on an adorable little street (with similarly adorable old houses), near downtown Frederick. The wonderful shops and restaurants in the downtown area are a quick and easy walk down the main strip from the Bed & Breakfast, which makes it incredibly convenient (which was the reason we chose this place to stay). The house is decorated in traditional Bed & Breakfast style with antique furniture, a lot of kitschy nick-knacks, and probably a few too many dolls; it isn't overdone, though, and it is still quite nice and welcoming. The main floor contains a parlor, dining room, billiard room (with a pool table), and a little buffet area that has a mini-fridge with complimentary beverages (soda, bottled water, wine, and some beers) and a place to keep any leftovers from dinner out on the town. There is also a Keurig machine in the dining room with travel cups so you can make your own coffee, tea, cider, or hot chocolate at any time during your visit. The guest rooms are located on the second floor while the owners live on the third floor. We stayed in the Queen Anne suite which was quite nice. Our room was equipped with all of the necessities and you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into providing for all of their guest's needs. A somewhat small, but incredibly important, detail that we appreciated was the safety of the home and knowing the owners were careful to warn all guests to keep the front door locked. My friend and I, being two single women, were incredibly thankful for this and appreciated it greatly. The owners have all the calls forwarded to their cell phones so if they happen to be away from home they can still answer any questions or help you with anything you need. This, too, was much appreciated. Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful, they give you A LOT of food and we definitely enjoyed everything we were served. The other guests that stayed the night joined us for breakfast and we all had a wonderful morning chat; the owners actually stayed and chatted with us all throughout breakfast as well. I would definitely visit here again if I am ever in the area and I highly recommend this as a place to stay. The couple is very nice and they are wonderful hosts. I had a great time here and I look forward to a visit again in the future!

Stayed there for TWO weeks! Mostly because for research study with deaf kids. The hosts - Betty and Phil - was WONDERFUL hosts! So friendly and very outgoing, loves to talk! Their breakfasts were wonderful and delicious! Lot of varies - hot and cold - breakfast frittata, casseroles, parfaits, waffles, fruits, and so on... They will do gluten free or vegan/vegetarian meals if requested! The decor there is very Victorian-styled and very beautiful. Also lots of dolls there, quite a collection. They do also have two adorable dogs - very friendly - small sized. Also they do have cat but the cat doesn't roam around the house but do roam in backyard! Beautiful cat. The area is amazing convenient to walk around! Many, I'm telling you, many various kind of restaurants in downtown Frederick! And also near to Frederick visitor center, art education center and museums. I strongly suggest you to stay their bed and breakfast place!!!

My bad. This is Dutrow room with KING bed - NOT the Queen Anne room as I originally posted

I sit outside to wait with my luggage. 3 more hours go buy. No update. I use the app to track bus. Finally, it gets there. I board bus. A drunk screaming woman boards. Smelled awful and was rude and frightening. Turns out dozens of people waiting over this one drunk. She missed her transfer from DC to NY. She ended up at my location in MD. She yelled at the driver. He fixes it by having her sent by Uber back to DC. Yes, bus was an hour late but we had to wait 3 more hours additionally due to Greyhound forcing us to wait for her. We were all stuck smelling her. We were relieved when she was removed and sent back by Uber. This company location costed me my transfer to Pittsburgh. Due to being forced to wait on the alcoholic monster that messed up everyone's schedule even more. Sleep deprived now until tomorrow for more buses to take. Hungry and tired. Her mental problem became everyone else's. Not even an apology from them to us. During the trip I figured out why this driver is so late. I saw him swerving on a small road. Texting looking at his phone. He was lost and was trying to look at his maps on his phone while driving. Turns out that Greyhounds here don't come with any navigation units installed on their dashes. They have no clue where to even drive too. They aren't provided with any physical maps either. I had to look up the route for him and tell him where to go. He said it was a small town with small lettering so he couldn't read it well. Rather then pulling over to look at an Atlas he swerved like a crazy person. I don't think he knew how to blow up a map either on his phone. Or if he did, maybe the phone was too slow at it. I mean it has WiFi but it's too slow. Apparently we were almost lost getting through Morgansville. I felt bad for our driver not being provided the tools he needed to drive better by this craptastic company. Many of my buses were lost or full due to the fiasco of the drunk woman. Beware of this location Greyhound. Thank goodness it wasn't snowing out or I would of froze for 4 hours straight outside. Customer service seemed lacking after I politely asked about my bus. At that I knew I would have to use the app for my own sanity. Be prepared to wait outside for many hours. I guess if they are opened you could wait inside but there are bums that stink sleeping inside so watch out. I think they could improve with longer hours, employed security guards for our safety. And installed nav units in all buses as well as providing hard current maps big in font size to their drivers. And by firing current employees and hiring employees with prior customer service experience only. They should keep a manager around on shift also at all times. Also why can't driver breaks be scheduled in between bus routes? They take breaks whenever they want. They should provide a sheltered area with seating for people to wait outside due to their weird hours. Maybe schedule each bus and extra 10 to 15 minutes or even up to 20 more minutes before booking the drivers out again per stop. Maybe add more time for traffic, accidents, weather, driver breaks etc. Lack of organization causes too many delays for people and their schedules. As well as the drivers which affects the service and the service experience as a whole. I can honestly say that Fredrick, MD. Greyhound location can't adhere to Greyhound standards of service. If all of Greyhound stations we're this way, why would they be in business after 100 years of service? It was only my first time using the service ever in my life but one can assume that the problem is in management of just this location. Or it appears at least, to me that way. I mean, what if a bus brakes down. Things happen. I can accept a bus being one hour late. I can't accept 3 extra hours of waiting due to the drunk missing her own transfer in another state and making a fuss for hours. Making us even later than we already were. Why didn't they take her complaint inside and dealt with it there to Uber her back immediately and allowed the rest of us to leave? It just makes no sense to me at all. People need to understand that it's not anyone's problem if you don't know where to switch buses at. I don't think bus drivers are paid and are supposed to baby sit everyone on the bus to each of their individual bus stops. People need to take responsibility for it and not take it out on the world. The company should of dealt with this better and swiftly at this location. That wasn't fair to us.

I had to go down to the front desk to ask for soap, and i stayed for an entire week straight and they only serviced the room once during the stay. I know some properties nowadays clean or service once every other day now, but once in an entire week is a bit much. Now, you're getting to the point of needing to ask to replace toilet paper and tissue paper. Not to mention the stockpile of recycling and garbage. Pre-COVID, there was a program that was optional, to have your room serviced once every 3 days or five and you'd get bonus points as the guest. Now, the option is taken away with the hotels saving a great deal of money on not servicing as often, but now you are sacrificing the quality of the institution of the property itself. It's a Courtyard. However, I recently returned from several weeks in Central America. It was amazing. They'd make animals out of towels, clean the room daily, everything was pristine, breakfast was included and was as great as some breakfasts I've had at JW Marriott properties. But Courtyards in the U.S. don't have breakfast included, not even for Titanium or Ambassador Elite members. So, not all of the same name brand are created equal. I've stayed at several Courtyards in California that stand out from the rest. So, it depends. The suite was great. There's no gym at the moment, it's under construction. Plenty of parking and tons of things nearby. I'd stay again. But, hopefully they'd address servicing the room more than once a week.

Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!
