I love this place. My favorite nail salon in Mill Valley. Very clean and sanitary, pretty place with tons of parking, friendly ladies who always get me in last minute. I never feel rushed and the work is excellent. They are gentle and do high quality work. I get the longest lasting mani/pedi's here than any other place I've been. I've been going here for over 10 years. Every now and then I try another place but I'm always back. If there is a problem they take care of it. They've changed my color when I hated it, fixed chips and smudges after they've finished, etc with no problem. Everyone is nice, good service, nails look good. read more

My teen was charged $70 for a manicure. I called to demand an explanation & they claim she got acrylics. She did not. Rude on the phone. Hung up vs trying to offer a refund or resolution. Took advantage of an underage child. Not a good place. Give your business to honest people instead. read more

I will NEVER go back to this place. The amount of attitude that you receive from the staff....when you're a PAYING CUSTOMER....is disgusting! They apparently didn't have hot water today, and when anyone questioned why, the one who speaks the best English lost it!!! It was totally surprising, and completely un called for!! Also, the woman giving me a pedicure stopped working on me to help someone at the front counter who needed to pay. She kept on the sterile gloves that she had on to work on my feet to accept and handle money from the customer. She then came back....didn't change her gloves, and went right back to my feet!!! I couldn't believe it. I don't feel it's the customers job to REMIND the staff that they need to be CLEAN!!! Don't waste your time with place. I have been to Holly nails regularly for the past six months (would go every other week), and I am in the process of finding a new salon. The girls there rush your manis and pedis to get as many customers in at the same time. They do an OK job, but it is not relaxing. They give you the worst attitude, fake smiles and complain if you don't give tips in cash (or if you tip too little). Last time I forgot my wallet in my car. They had me leave my phone in the salon while I went and got my wallet - way to trust a regular customer...! Bottom line, avoid this salon unless you reaaalllyy have to go read more

Just spent $29 for a mediocre, at best, pedicure. Was looking for a new nail salon since I'm new to Mill Valley. THIS is not it. Not quality. First off one of the technicians told a client to add tip for all three people that worked on her. Not cool. It's up to the client. My technician asked if I wanted longer foot massage, but (as a massage therapist myself) her attention wasn't there on the first place, so no thank you. I was sent by a friend who said the Pedicure would be $21/$22... so my bad for not asking.... but $29 for this level of quality? I'll just go to my old salon in SF. These ladies don't seem new to nail care so I'm surprised at the lack of customer service and quality. read more

I never like leaving a bad review, in fact you can tell by my past reviews I've never given one this low. However, to be fair, I gave this nail salon a handful of chances to redeem themselves. Below are reviews for the three worst experiences I've had: #1 - made an appointment for a fill in early 2014, before heading to an engagement party. My appointment was not honored, the staff didn't seem to care that I had to wait 30minutes past my appointment time to be seen. I was late to the engagement party and my nails were horrendous. I went to my favorite nail salon in the city the next day to have them redone! #2 - Father's Day 2014. Made an appointment for a full set, same unprofessional situation but even worse. My appointment was not honored, staff took TWO people ahead of me for Mani, Pedis before taking my reservation. When I asked how much longer, the woman just held up her hand and said "soon, soon". I was late to my Father's Day Brunch, the full set was uneven and done in a very hastily fashion. #3 - Yesterday, Sunday 1/18/15. I decided to forgo an appointment because clearly they don't understand the meaning of an appointment, and did a walk in. Asked for a full set and the lady had me sit down right away (I was SO excited) but should've known better. Two women walked in one minute after me, asking for Mani/Pedis and were shown to their seats. A woman, who I assume is the Boss/Owner, assigned the two available employees to BOTH of the women that had walked in AFTER me while I sat there waiting!! 15mins in to waiting, I asked how much longer and was given the same "soon,soon" response. I didn't have much to do for the remainder of the day so I sat and waited. Once I realized that I had sat there, ignored for over 30minutes. I left. This place really needs to learn about customer service and how to honor an appointment. I'll never be back, such a disappointment. read more

I just had the fastest pedicure ever. I have been coming here for awhile and never had an issue. The past couple of pedicures have not been great but I kept coming back. Today is my last time coming here. Pedicure was rushed and not done well at all, prices have gone up, the lady who took my money ( did my pedi too) was irritated that I did not give her a five dollar tip....I wanted change from a five.....I gave her three dollars....did not even get a thank you for that. Wow ....bummed because they used to be nice, friendly and have decent mani/pedis! I will be looking for another place now ! Too bad....I wonder if this shop even reads these reviews ? read more

I had an amazing manicure and pedicure today. Holly Nails took extreme caution and care. First time I have felt comfortable getting mani/pedi since March. They need our support. I've gone to Holly Nails various times now, it's fairly close to my house. Not once have I left there with a decent manicure. They do a sloppy job, rush you and still charge you full price for a horrible job. The manicure I received today looked like it was done by my 5 year old niece. I asked the lady to fix the corners of my nail because she had left various corners without nail polish. She fixed two and pretended like she couldn't understand me when I asked her to fix the other ones. Any who, I will not be returning I highly recommend you think twice before getting your nails done there. read more

I have tried Holly Nails several times but won't be returning. I went in for a pedicure during the holidays and was shocked to see how short she cut my toenails. An aesthetician should always ask a client how much nail you want cut. I was reading a magazine and didn't notice until it was too late. My feet have been hurting for several weeks. It's actually pretty stupid when you think about it. If they cut your toenails too short, then the client has an extra month longer before returning to get another one. Also, when I bop in and the stations look full and I ask about coming back tomorrow, they pressure you to stay. "Pick out color, we will be right with you" is the pressure pitch you get. Too pushy for my tastes. I will go elsewhere where safety and professionalism are utmost. read more

Definitely NOT my first choice, nor second or third. But, they're ok. They have a great choice of colors and the ladies were polite when having to listen to my dog bark incessantly while sitting outside. Their prices went up for pedicures, I was informed. The leg/foot massage only lasts about 15 seconds here and the foot scrub was not thorough. For the same price, you can get a much better personal touch pedi here in the city. Try High-tech nails in Pacific Heights! GREAT massage:) I did like the way she painted my nails and I like the shape. They aren't a fancy salon, but they are conveniently located near Starbucks and Whole Foods and all the ladies were nice and did a good job. Things were clean and sanitary and no one is rushing. The other clients are generally friendly without being obnoxious or intrusive. I've never waited long and they also take reservations. It feels relaxing in there because it's not as big/crowded as Lavande, for example. read more

This place used to be good but they have gone down the drain. It was by far the worst pedicure I have ever had. The woman who was doing the pedicure, scraped the skin off behind my leg while trying to scrub my feet. She wasn't interested in working and they were having a busy day, so I guess she just wanted to get it over with. I asked her to scrub my heel well and she just wanted to sell the callus treatment to me. I am done with this place. The place was empty for a Saturday and the ladies weren't particularly friendly or good at the manicure thing. I think one of them even offended my friend. This place is a wonderful find! I can do my grocery shopping at Whole Foods and get my nails done right after. These friendly ladies are fast and the place is clean. I got a French manicure and a regular pedi and the price is so reasonable. My French mani lasted over 10 days, if you can believe it. One star because that is the minimum. This was the worst experience I have ever had. Not only did I get a fungal infection from a manicure, the back of the hand was burned and blistered with a hot towel. I went in for removal of gel polish and a basic manicure. My nails are hardly recovered as they have been peeling and breaking since my visit. The staff was incredibly rude- as if I was impeding on their time. Perhaps I misunderstood but without customers you don't make any money. I will never go back and I do now encourage anyone to visit this nail salon. It is just ok. I think getting a manicure and pedicure should be a relaxing experience, nice warm water to soak your tootsies in and a great foot massage...but not here. It was very boring and just the basics were done. The massage was all of a minute and forgettable. If you wanted a longer massage you have to pay for it! The place is clean but there is nothing really special. Too bad as it is so convenient. Will need to find a another place to spend my money and get a great mani/ped. read more

Worse pedicure I've ever received, lady dipped my feet in water not even my fulltook my polish off and clipped my nails, no shaping no lotion no scrubbing what kinda pedicure is that I could of did it myself. On multiple occasions I have walked in and told there was a 20 minute wait. Seems reasonable enough, so I wait. Then after about 30 minutes, I am moved to a pedicure chair where I wait another 30 minutes. At this point, I could have gone down the street and had my nails done. Disregard the negative reviews. This place changed ownership last year. All I can say after 20 years of going to nail places all over the county-- consistently fantastic. Very clean. Wonderful new massage Chairs that you can enjoy while your feet soak for your pedicure. They always keep the door open for fresh air which is a plus... no stinky acetone smell. They consistently do a good job with my gel manicure and regular pedicure. Thanks!! read more

Worst pedicure ever. The technician used the rough side of the callus stone on my bare skin and I was abraised for a week; full on bleeding. Callus still there, of course. Polish was uneven and too thick; went to bed 6 hours later and woke up with sheet marks. Ladies were rude. Massage chairs were broken. Tried to have me put my feet in icecold water when i moved to a new chair (they didn't check the temperature? really?). I'm confused as to how they 1) stay in business 2) meet health code. ok I went to this place a year ago and it was absolutely terrible with horrendous customer service and also expensive... HOWEVERRR I heard the place had switched owners ... so I wanted to check it out since I live so close by. I ADORED the placee...The women are sweet and friendly and I loved the fact that they pamper their customers so well :) The place looks 100 times better than before is clean, nice relaxing music, they serve tea/water/snacks, an array of colors. I just started coming here but it has definitely become my new spa resort! I get my nails toes and waxes here at a very affordable price. OH.. and ALSO I brought my daughter and her friends here for a princess party and they LOVED it! I definitely reccommend this place! read more
