Features: 5 Soccer Fields + 1 Youth Practice Field 6 Picnic Shelters (can be rented) + Picnic Pavilion Playgrounds for different age groups with umbrellas Nature Trails/Running Trails Restrooms and Concessions Once all the COVID craziness dies down I'm sure this place will be packed. The walking track was my favorite feature today though after my hike earlier, I didn't spend too much time here. There is ample parking with entrances from Deal Street and Cleveland Avenue where the Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry is located. It seems to share space with the Kings Mountain Family YMCA as well. However, the playground was the part I couldn't quite wrap my mind around. It follows the newer trend of rope and metal playgrounds and had no slides, tunnels, bridges, or anything else that a good old fashioned park has. The sign said for ages 2-12, but my 2 year old found nothing he could play on or reach on his own. So, this park is good for a nice stroll, but I wouldn't recommend the playground for small children.

Nice facility to bring the kids to in Forest City. Its just down the road from the main center of…read moretown and straight up a large hill to get to the ball fields and playground. The entrance is a bit strange as you'll feel like your driving into a neighborhood but just keep going. Parking was ample but if your walking to a ball field its a bit far if elderly but not to bad. There are bleachers at the baseball fields but bring a chair just in case. I wish the playground was closer to the ball fields because it would be nice to have a place for the 'littles' to play while your older ones are competing. But at the same time if it were nearby you would be worried about every foul ball in that direction. Anyway its a great park and probably would be super popular if it was in walking distance of the restaurants and such downtown.
