The historic charm, beautiful grounds, and warm atmosphere created the perfect setting for a truly memorable celebration. Our guests are still talking about how gorgeous everything was. The food was outstanding--delicious, beautifully presented, and plentiful. Guests kept coming back for seconds and raved about the quality throughout the evening. The open bar was also a huge hit and contributed to the fun, festive atmosphere. The accessible gardens between the art gallery on site and the shop is on either side of a short pathway. It's pretty but I wouldn't go out of my way to make this happen again. I always appreciate someone taking the time to cultivate a garden for public use, so no shade here. It just isn't anything you can wander or get lost in if you aren't renting the space for private use. I snapped a few pics, it added some beauty to our day but not a huge impact overall.

We eventually settled in small claims court and got our money back. I have to say I feel sorry for Amanda, the event managers as she is simply working with a stupid and entitled child, the owner Blaise Lipman. I do not recommend this venue and trust me, there are a lot more beautiful places in the peninsula, and more importantly, nicer people and more law-binding, contract reading event managers and event space owners.

When registration emails are sent out in early January, don't hesitate to purchase your tickets to secure your credentials. It isn't inexpensive, as tickets for the 2026 event are $1,600 per person. Miss that window, and you may find yourself on a waitlist. If you're fortunate enough to obtain tickets, you'll have the option of receiving e-tickets. I passed on that and opted to have my credentials mailed instead. They arrive in a beautifully presented Quail box complete with an entry wristlet and parking pass, making for a wonderful keepsake from the event. Next, choose an outfit that's both classy and comfortable, slip on sensible shoes, grab your favorite luxury handbag, and you're off to The Quail! The last couple of years we've attended, the weather had been absolutely perfect. That said, mornings can be cool, so pack a light sweater and perhaps a hat. Think of it as an elegant garden party. You'll spend most of the day walking across grass and paved pathways, so stiletto heels aren't the best choice, unless you're determined to be uncomfortable while aerating the golf course. Pro Tip: Arrive early. This is, after all, Monterey Car Week. Tens of thousands of enthusiasts and extraordinary automobiles from around the world descend upon the Monterey Peninsula during the week, creating traffic that local roads were never designed to handle. Giving yourself extra time will minimize stress and maximize your enjoyment once you're inside. Since we weren't displaying a car, our credentials included general parking. However, driving a Ferrari apparently comes with a few unofficial perks. As we entered the lot, the parking attendant waved us over and directed us to park alongside a collection of other supercars surrounding a grassy knoll. Once inside, procure your glass of champagne and don't forget to snap a photo in front of the iconic Quail monument sign featuring the event organizers, The Peninsula Signature Events. As we wandered through the beautifully manicured grounds, admiring the marque displays, we naturally made our first stop at the oyster stand. What better way to begin the day than with champagne and freshly shucked oysters? Scattered throughout the venue are numerous gourmet food pavilions serving an incredible variety of cuisines, accompanied by equally impressive wines, spirits, and cocktails. My advice? Don't stop at the very first pavilion you encounter. With so many outstanding options available, you'll want to pace yourself. Study the event map beforehand, note the vendors that interest you most, and plan your culinary adventure accordingly. The Quail is also one of our favorite places to reconnect with friends, both fellow racers and automotive enthusiasts. It's not uncommon to find yourself mingling with motorsport executives and industry leaders while discovering the latest innovations in the automotive world. Two years ago, we had the pleasure of meeting Christian von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg Automotive AB. Monterey Car Week also features several world-class collector car auctions. At The Quail, Broad Arrow Auctions showcases approximately 175 of the world's most desirable collector cars. Even if you're not in the market to buy, browsing the consignments is an attraction all on its own. I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience The Quail at least once. It certainly helps if you love exceptional food, fine champagne, remarkable automobiles, and unforgettable experiences--which, fortunately for us, we absolutely do.

I sat out there with a glass of wine and my book for a bit for a little quiet time. There is a firepit just around the corner from Room 101 so that was nice to sit at while enjoying a little nightcap. Apparently, they will give you a s'mores kit... I did not partake on this trip. To be frank, I was too lazy to walk to the front (a whole 2 minutes) to go up to the desk to ask. But next time... I fully plan to get a s'mores kit. haha! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed, sheets and bedding were very comfortable and I slept great. This is unusual for me as I don't normally sleep very well in 'strange' beds. We only ate at Covey Grill once and it was very good. The convenience of having a nice restaurant on property is a major plus.

When our wedding venue fell through a week before our wedding because they refused to let us put up a canopy to get out of the rain, she was kind enough to let us rent our cottage two days early and gave us several location options for our ceremony, whatever would suit us best. She helped me get ready & offered as much love, kindness & support as she could offer. Then, when the weather turned south & started storming extremely heavily during our outdoor ceremony, she generously opened up her own home to us in the top floor of the beautiful dome house to complete our special day. She truly saved the day for us, and treated us like family. The location couldn't be more beautiful. Everywhere you look, beautiful art peeks through the landscape as if placed thete by fairies, and the beauty of nature here creates a sense of tranquility among the redwoods crawling with ivy. Beautiful photo opportunities everywhere you look. A true hippy paradise! The Cala Lily Cottage was cozy, private and intimate, and we felt right at home. PLEASE avoid wasting your money at overpriced, inhospitable cabins/campgrounds out at big sur and come here instead, where you'll be treated like a treasured guest. My new husband and I look forward to returning on an anniversary!

This place is magical. I have so many good things to say about the Jewel in the Forest and Sofanya. I feel connected to them now as they are a part of my story, and I'm so grateful for that! On October 1st, I married my best friend in a small 10 person ceremony at the Jewel in the Forest. It was the most perfect day of my life, and there could not have been a better place for it. We rented out all 4 of the cabins on property to accommodate all of our guests. That allowed us to stay together and bond through the whole experience, while still providing ample privacy and sleeping space for our guests The Dome House is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in my life. From the skylights that allow you a peek of the tops of the redwood trees, to the eclectic and beautiful furniture and decorations, to the wood burning heater, topped off by Sofanya's amazing artwork, it is truly an immersive experience. Sofanya provides games, movies, books, musical instruments, and a full kitchen. Everything you need for the perfect escape. We cut our cake and drank champagne as a group of about 12 in the living space comfortably. Most of our guests stayed at the Jasmine house, which has 3 private rooms and a large living space where we all enjoyed dinner the night before the ceremony. Sofanya even strung up the cutest string lights on the patio for us so we could enjoy the outside space as well. My parents stayed in the adorable Calla Lily cabin, which is perfect for a couple or small family. It is cozy and charming. Our photographer stayed up in the adorable Lotus Blossum, which had the most spectacular windows and a one of a kind outside bathroom. So cool! We held our ceremony near the stream amongst the redwoods. It was breathtaking. Overall, the space was beyond perfect for what we needed. Each of the cabins are unique and have so much character. I recommend that EVERYONE visit and escape from reality to this magical place at some point in your life. You won't regret it. Now, I have to say a few things about Sofanya. She is wonderful! She really went above and beyond making sure our wedding was perfect. She hung the aforementioned lights for me, provided several bouquets around the property, received packages with things for my wedding for me ahead of time, and ensured everyone's comfort the whole stay. Well worth the money to have an stress-free (less stressful) day. My husband and I chose the Elite package because it was the best fit for our 150-guest list. A lot of storage for clothes and having a microwave and fridge helps. The main disappointment was the wifi, or lack there of. There must be something blocking cell service b/c several times, I couldn't get a signal while outside inputting an address into navigation (maybe that's standard for a Navy base?)

The rooms have a fantastic price compared to the local area and are rally nice compared to other Navy lodges. It is located just off the freeway and has easy access to downtown, Fisherman's ward, and the aquarium (via car bike or walk). The walk (70 minutes or so) will take you a bit but if you have time and are up for the exercise, we enjoy it! The Trident room is in the basement and parking is available on the grounds restricted during the week to certain lots as parking is needed for students and faculty.
