The selection is more limited than Big Sur Bakery but includes a solid choice of coffee drinks and pastries before offering some hot kitchen items like a breakfast sandwich starting at 9:30. The vibes of the building and the indoor and outdoor seating space are top notch with manicured lawns, rustic wood tables and open spaces. The Village only Parking is plentiful and its adjacent to the convenient General Store for supplies and the River Inn for lodging. We ordered a sampling of their $9 lattes (Chai and Matcha) and coffee (espresso tonic) as well as several pastries. The highlight were the candy cap (mushroom) muffins and chocolate chip cookie although I also enjoyed the baguette sandwich. Credit cards are accepted and there's plentiful seating inside and outdoor. Judging by the crowds, The Village is a welcome fancier (albeit pricier) option for those who miss Big Sur Bakery.

We highly recommend renting the house for the whole weekend. We used it for our wedding party to stay, rehearsal dinner, staging for many prep items, and hair and makeup. The convenience of having the ceremony and reception next to each other was perfect and worked very well for our guests. We had our dance floor outside and rented string lights set up in an umbrella fashion to give the effect of a tent. Overall, we are very pleased with how everything turned out. I need to write a separate paragraph for Anna Russell and her team. Anna was extremely flexible and helpful throughout the whole process. She had good suggestions and helped us figure out issues as they arose. She was very responsive via email and super helpful the week of the wedding coordinating with our vendors. The 3-4 months leading up to the day left us feeling unsure of who our day-of Event Manager would be and insecure in our communication with the venue. I was very close to hiring my own day-of coordinator after doing all of the planning myself, but ultimately decided to have faith in the Events by Classic team. Luckily, Susan was our day-of Event Manager and ended up staying with us the entire day. She did a great job executing the decor, managing vendors, and making our day as smooth as possible. The event staff were friendly, kind, and very attentive and the food was fantastic! Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. All in all, we are happy we had our wedding here!

The accessible gardens between the art gallery on site and the shop is on either side of a short pathway. It's pretty but I wouldn't go out of my way to make this happen again. I always appreciate someone taking the time to cultivate a garden for public use, so no shade here. It just isn't anything you can wander or get lost in if you aren't renting the space for private use. I snapped a few pics, it added some beauty to our day but not a huge impact overall.

We eventually settled in small claims court and got our money back. I have to say I feel sorry for Amanda, the event managers as she is simply working with a stupid and entitled child, the owner Blaise Lipman. I do not recommend this venue and trust me, there are a lot more beautiful places in the peninsula, and more importantly, nicer people and more law-binding, contract reading event managers and event space owners.

Our guests were so impressed with this venue and how put together and smooth everything was, they said it felt like a destination wedding with how unique and private it is (even though we all live relatively close)! It has a beautiful rustic feel without being to themed, with first class amenities of all forms! In addition to the gorgeous functional venue, Christin (our day of coordinator) is absolutely incredible! She stuck with us for over a year as we planned, had to reschedule due to COVID, planned again, then had to reschedule a second time due to COVID. She was so responsive, helpful, and creative in all aspects of the day and helped make my constantly changing vision a reality! I changed my mind on the flowers until the very last minute and she was able to pull together the most gorgeous floral arrangements that were more beautiful than I even imagined. Her team was also so great the day of. Casey (our personal assistant for the day) was there for my husband and I every moment we needed her. She made sure we did not get dehydrated, hungry, or overwhelmed by guests at any point. She helped me stay calm right before the ceremony making sure I didn't pass out from nervousness. She helped make sure we were comfortable with pictures and that we had everything we needed up until the minute we drove away for the evening. The rest of the team was also fantastic. The decorations were above and beyond and they made sure our guests felt comfortable and cared for. During the reception they did an amazing coordinated reveal that I won't spoil for anyone, but man it wowed our guests! This venue is also a wonderful option because they do it all! You can choose other vendors if you like but they provide the catering, the DJ, the flowers, the decorating, and the bartenders! All we really had to do separately was the Cake and booze! DJ Sergio is one of the nicest and most considerate people you'll ever meet and a darn good DJ. He got people to dance who I have never in my life seen dance. It was fun and light and all timed so well. He got to know our music style and matched it perfectly. The ceremony music was timed so well and there was never a moment were someone wasn't dancing at the reception! Another incredible aspect of this venue besides it beauty, secluded-ness, and wonderful staff, is the fact that there is a honeymoon cabin on the property! This is no shabby cabin, this my friends was luxurious! It is tucked up behind the venue in the hills making it a close but private place to escape to at the end of the night. This was also a perfect place for my bridesmaids to spend a long relaxed morning getting ready with me. It has a kitchen and comfortable seating (along with a breathtaking master sweet and huge bathroom) and made us all feel so special while getting our hair and makeup done. There are also adorable long horn cattle grazing the hillsides on the drive up! We had several guests come in from long distances and just five minutes down the road is a Thousand Trails Campground, which we all stayed at the night before and many people stayed at the night of. This location has Cabins as well as tent and RV sights. Overall this place was more than we ever could have imagined. We are so grateful to have found this place and for all the hard work their team put into it. The venue gave us the perfect balance of outdoor charm and indoor comfort. On the day of the wedding one thing I noticed as I walked in to set up; was everything was clean and the venue smelled fresh and clean. The ceremony was held on the patio, followed by a reception inside, and it easily accommodated 130 guests in rounds. From what I understand if we did rectangle family style we could have accommodated more, and had more design flexibility. From the very beginning, Eric was professional, welcoming, and a pleasure to coordinate with. He took the time to meet with us beforehand to go over details on multiple occasions, which made the planning process smooth and stress-free. I had the opportunity to meet his other half, Meghan as well. She was genuinely nice. She is a hairstylist in the area and although we did not utilize her services, and if you are all about timing and being efficient then this might be for you; it is a one stop shop just in separate locations. If you want to get your hair done for your special event then you should reach out to them and ask for a consultation, it is one less thing to coordinate. Even though I have experience in coordinating weddings, I appreciated Eric's insights. It is clear he knows their venue best, and his suggestions helped everything come together seamlessly. Once he recognized my ability to coordinate, and my attention to detail, he allowed me to step in, and the collaboration between the two of us made the entire experience fun, enjoyable along with some friendly banter between all of us. The Barn itself is a beautiful space, versatile enough for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Between the atmosphere, the attentive staff, and Eric's guidance, the entire day felt effortless and memorable. I would highly recommend The Barn for weddings, private parties, or any special event.
