Had a wonderful experience at Holsten Jewelers getting my five year old daughter's ears pierced! Her ear piercings look totally even, and the lovely man who pierced my daughter's ears was as gentle as possible. I came in with my 2 year old and six month old, and all the employees couldn't be more accommodating - helping me in and out with my stroller and troop of young kids. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Holsten Jewelers in Scarsdale! I live very far from the shop, but on a recommendation I brought my 38 year old engagement ring to be reset. Story time.... money was tight back then and the stone was off color set in white gold. I received snarky comments from nasty "friends" regarding the stone. It took away a lot of the pride I had wearing the ring. Gary helped me design and reset my ring in 18k yellow gold with appropriately colored side stones. A perfect fit band was also made to go with that ring using the side diamonds from the original ring. The warmth of the modern yellow setting enhances the look of my imperfect diamond. Gary's patience with my design changes and his calm perfectionism made the process effortless. I now have a wedding ring set I adore set with a stone my wonderful husband picked for me when we were so much younger. Also.... I would be remiss not to mention the sweet ladies who work in the shop who always have a kind word and are willing to help. Just had a diamond eternity band repaired. Some prongs were broken and there were some loose diamonds. They did excellent work repairing my ring and it feels like brand new. You get a text when the repair is done which made it so easy! I would definitely go back for repairs, custom work or to purchase jewelry. I had a very negative experience with the owner and son of Wilson's Jewelers and that brought me to Holsten. Also Holsten does all repairs on site. I was looking to buy a pearl necklace as a Bat Mitzvah present for my niece and a friend recommended Holsten's. I was a bit hesitant to look at a jewelry store in Scarsdale as I suspected that most would scoff at my $500 budget. But, Holsten's did not. From the moment I stepped in, they were friendly and eager to help. I told them how much I wanted to spend and what I was looking for. Holsten's brought pearls in from the city and I was able to hand pick a strand that was to my liking. They were very patient with me as I made the decision about size and quality and I chose a different all-gold clasp because I didn't like the clasp that you typically find on pearl necklaces. Also, once I chose the pearls and clasp, Holsten's hand strung the necklace in the store. The box and wrapping were perfect and this turned out to be a beautiful gift and one that I know my niece will cherish in the years to come. I can't recommend Holsten's enough. read more
