Honest, Thorough, and Trustworthy Care I saw this ophthalmologist for a second opinion after another clinic told me I needed urgent cataract surgery. He spent a full two hours examining my eyes and reviewing the records he had to personally request from the first clinic. His assessment was completely different -- and far more reassuring. He explained that I have only mild cataracts, actually fewer than most people my age, and that my eyesight is very good. He told me plainly that nothing warranted surgery and that I should just use readers when needed. I appreciated Dr. Jeff Holt's (and staff's) honesty, his calm approach, and the fact that he didn't try to push any unnecessary procedures. It's rare to find a doctor who takes the time to explain everything clearly and prioritizes what's truly best for the patient. I'm very grateful I went to him. read more

I've gone to Dr Jeff Holt (ophthalmologist) for several years and loved the care he provided. When I called to schedule my yearly exam I was told I could no longer see Dr Jeff and there was no exception. I wear contacts & he doesn't do contact lens exams I was informed, but I've been his patient for years. My mom had macular degeneration & I have the beginning of cataracts. Needless to say I was VERY disappointed and hurt. I thought my loyalty would mean something but I guess I was wrong. Maybe I'll look for another ophthalmologist. read more

I had not been to an eye doctor in many, many years as I never had any problems until recently. I absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for an eye doctor. The entire staff was so friendly, attentive, and displayed excellent customer relationship skills. This started with the young lady at the front desk, the young lady that did my pre-exam, and the young lady that checked me out. Dr, Carney was wonderful and she explained everything as she progressed throughout the exam. An added bonus was getting to see my friend Marie, whom I had not seen in several years, but has worked for Dr. Holt since he started his practice. If you want full disclosure about your eye exams and conditions, you might not want to use this clinic (at least not the optometrist). I had used this doctor for almost three years when I called to ask about a charge on my bill. I had always received a good eye report, and the doctor always said, "Everything looks great!" The day I called about the bill and why insurance hadn't covered the payment, I talked to someone at the front desk who looked at my chart and read my eye conditions back to me. When she said, "...and you have cataracts," I was stunned. This had never been mentioned by the doctor. When I told the receptionist she must be mistaken, she said it had been written on my chart at the last two visits (I see the doctor annually.). I will never go back to this clinic. If a doctor withholds ANY information regarding my health, I can't trust him/her. read more
