This has been an amazing experience from my initial consult to my follow up appointment, one day after my surgery. I have met people with a common care or interest as me which is Animal, Rescue, and CARE, my nurse Sarah, who got me ready for surgery was amazing and we swapped fantastic cat stories about our babies so I will definitely not be afraid to go for my second surgery which I will probably do sooner than I initially thought my left eye is crystal clear whereas the right one wasn't OK I am 100% plus satisfied.

He spent a full two hours examining my eyes and reviewing the records he had to personally request from the first clinic. His assessment was completely different -- and far more reassuring. He explained that I have only mild cataracts, actually fewer than most people my age, and that my eyesight is very good. He told me plainly that nothing warranted surgery and that I should just use readers when needed. I appreciated Dr. Jeff Holt's (and staff's) honesty, his calm approach, and the fact that he didn't try to push any unnecessary procedures. It's rare to find a doctor who takes the time to explain everything clearly and prioritizes what's truly best for the patient. I'm very grateful I went to him.

They sent him a payment option but he forgot about it and did not order the new lens at that time. He didn't need a new eye exam because he has 20/20 and just needs reader lenses. Their selection of designer and budget frames is large. There's definitely something for everyone. I love both of my choices. They took about 2 weeks to come in, which seems a little long, but I am not sure that is something within their control. I had to go back to get the frames adjusted a couple times and each time the staff was friendly and accommodating to my schedule. I'd definitely use them again.

And then they got upset with me that I came in at 10:30. I left. When I called to tell of my displeasure with the way I was spoke to, the office lady then started getting rude with me and having an attitude as well. I do have the full thing on video, thankfully, so anyone can see that I was very professional about it, like they should have been. If they got a new office lady and a new optician or tech (whichever she is) then I'd consider coming back. The other lady I spoke to was nice about the whole thing, although she tried make excuses for their behavior by saying there was a miscommunication. And if that's so there is absolutely a nice way to approach that. I was told I could come in at any time but they just wanted to put me on the schedule for that morning so they know to expect me at some point that day. So she told me she'd put me down for 9:30 but I could be however late, it didn't really matter. Don't tell me that, if when I come in I'm met with a hostile environment by another worker. Not just that but first they tried to just hand me my glasses at the door and send me on my way. When they knew I was gonna come in for a quick fitting. On a side note I was suppose to be called when my glasses arrived and I had to call up there to find out they came in. I didn't even care about that so much, just the rudeness of the employees. I mean the one who does fittings has always been unpleasant and never friendly but she's never been straight up rude and mean to me until today. And that doesn't deserve second chances. Instead of being apologetic, the doctor and staff acted like it was my fault. The dr also made sexist jokes while examining my eyes, saying women don't know how to drive when I said I can't see in them to drive, as well as it was probably my hormones. One staff member even asked if I had an eye injury since the last time I was there. They couldn't believe the huge error. I waited 7 days for my glasses, only to be called and told the lab made a mistake and they had to be redone. I was aggravated as it had been over a month and asked the manager if they could expedite it. She said of course. She pointed out it was the lab's fault and I said the doctor's fault to begin with. Did she expedite? Nope. I was called today that my glasses were in. I came to get them and was met at my car (Covid going on). I was handed a bag with my glasses and she walked away without even seeing if I needed an adjustment. I called them from the parking lot and let them know they were loose (covid) and she said I could come in. The lady who adjusts glasses worked on them. She was finished and I walked out, saying thank you. Return response back a hateful BYE. The glasses seem to be right, but they didn't even check to see if I could see better. I can't believe an optometrist runs a clinic like that.

October 19th I left in tears with a prescription I knew was no good, I then went to a different eye doctor to get ANOTHER eye exam which to no surprise was extremely different than what Van Smith had wrote to the point the other eye doctor was concerned. I returned today November 1st with proper proof and wearing my correct glasses to see if he'd acknowledge his wrong and refund my $89 but not only could you hear him yell "No" to his assistant through his door he wouldn't even come out of his office to explain himself.
