I've smoked cigars for a number of Years on & off now, never truly appreciating them. Just doing the "social" thing. A few months ago I decided to change that & actually learn. Went on YouTube & found the 'Holt's Cigar Company' channel with "Mazz & Fach." Learned so much, got many great suggestions and now I finally GET IT!! When I learned they were right in Philly, I had to make the drive and I chose the perfect day cause both of them were here and I got to meet both of them. Such incredible friendly & inviting guys, the whole staff & the many regulars were incredible. A true community. They knew everyone who walked in, & would come around & talk to everyone, sat and chatted with me, learned my name and didn't forget, such an amazing experience. A beautiful facility (even though they're moving tomorrow)[across the street]. Chill, relaxed vibes, spacious location with many areas to relax and enjoy your cigar. Comfy leather chairs, TV's showing the latest in sports at a volume you can converse at, outdoor area, phenomenal ventilation system. The lounge area wraps around so it's like 3 lounges in one. A bunch of quality premium cigars, including a bunch I had a hard time finding. This was like coming to the "Mecca" of cigars. Well worth the long drive. I wanted 2-3 Padron sticks but the site said the individual cigars were unavailable. I very reluctantly order a "5 pack". i received 5 individual cigars. This was just a chance to force a customer to buy extra product. Very dishonest. read more

Holt's cigar company is awesome. I ordered my 1st mail order of Nub Cameroon cigars and they were excellent and fresh. The value is about $140 dollars off a box of 24 vs buying at a cigar lounge in Las Vegas. My 2nd order for the same Nubs was not so good. The whole box was of cigars was dried out and the cigar crumbled and leaf flaked. I tried another cigar with the same results. I investigated the other cigars in the box with the squeeze test and they were all dry, cracked, and leaf separation. I understand things happen during shipment... So part 2 on how the return goes... more to come. 5 stars for now. Part 2: Taylor Cruz Customer Service Representative has rectified my issue and sending a new box. Customer service above and beyond the best. Sent me a paid shipping label for my return... she even stated she will ensure the are inspected for freshness before shipping. I am a casual cigar smoker who enjoys a particular hard to find cigar type. After searching for this particular type of cigar I came across Holt's Cigar Company in Philadelphia online. I have ordered from this company numerous times now and have always had exemplary service and rapid shipping times. This past week I had ordered these cigars again and expected them to arrive within a few days. Unfortunately the US Postal Service routed the shipment from Philly to Eugene , OR distribution center. After. checking tracking, the shipment was re-routed to my destination in Alabama. I have still not received them and emailed Holt's with the routing error. The Customer Service representative immediately returned my email with an apology and was in the process of checking with USPS on this unconventional route. While this was happening, I received an email stating that I had a new shipment on its way to me. Holt's, and they didn't have to, sent me an overnight shipment of my favorite cigar and an apology for the original shipment taking so long. They ensured that i would still receive my original shipment in two or three days. This type of service, without being prompted has made me a customer for life! If I were a cigar lover looking for any brand you like at exceptional prices, I would highly recommend Holt's. They have friendly folks and processing is almost immediate. I like this location... No need to worry about where to park, or if you're car will get towed because you lost track of time at the Walnut Street location.. The staff here are friendly, but not pushy. They have a huge selection of cigars to choose from, and a decent size smoking loung in the lobby with a couple flat screen tv's, and plenty of comfortable leather chairs and sofas to sit on and relax... Absolutely top notch. Great lounge to relax in since the renovations and a great selection of fine cigars. Holts does not cater to the "cheap" cigars, which is a standard that I respect. Yes, they'll have some "deals", however the cigar selection is always a step above the other local competitors - i've never had a bad smoke from any of the lines they offer. Also - if you have the time - you need to get to one of the "events" that they host on a monthly basis. I attended a "Rocky Patel" event where I had a chance to mingle with Rocky Patel himelf as well as his brother and cousin - it was a ton of fun! As more of a regular at that the Center City Holts location, I try to make it up to the North East Philadelphia location a few times a month. The staff and cigar selection is superb at holts. A must visit for cigar Herfers around. The pricing on cigars is terrific and with the box discount and buy four get one free discount, cigars here are a great value. If you have an opportunity to visit for one of the events its a terrific time to stop in. There is a members lounge and lockers available for members in their lounge. I'm not sure of the details of membership as I live to far away to make it advantageous to join. read more

Massive humidor, I mean HUGE. So many cigars to see and buy! When I came I they had a buy 4 get 1 free deal. I wasn't sure on what to make my 5th so one of the associates turned me to San Cristobal. It looked like every other box but I found out upon getting home that they are a great company with many awards. It was nice to see them recommend something good and not just something. The other great thing is that this is the distribution hub for Holt's so I can walk in and pick any samplers out of their catalog and they are in my hands a few short minutes later. Just bought myself some 2006 Opus X "Forbidden X" for $143, elsewhere they would be probably $300 if they had them in stock, which they wouldn't, for the box if 5. There's nothing more I can say other than this is the best cigar shop/lounge that I know of. The number one reason for my high opinion is selection followed closely by the price and staff. I'm especially fond of Anthony, the retail manager. They are distributors for Fuente , Ashton and other related brands. They charge MSRP or sometimes less(!), if you are a cigar smoker you know this is a big deal. New Jersey, arguably worst state in the country, is 30% more for the same products. read more

This is the best spot for cigars in philly, you get cigars here for at low prices the lounge is amazing and they even have a vip lounge for members. When I first walked in I wasn't expecting much but when we opened the doors I was floored. The smell of the cigar lounge and store, leather lounge chairs, flat screens, bar, and food was impeccable. I went to the Tatuaje Cigar Event. and even met Pete Johnson. He was friendly and so were the cigar members. It seems as if they all know each other, it was pretty cool. Holts cigar holds a special place in my heart. This place is fantastic! I haven't been smoking cigars long, of course I had a few questions. The staff is exceptional! They go above and beyond and will actually spend time with you to answer your questions. They have an insane humidor with a wide variety. I love the Aston and the San Cristobal Elegancia. I can't say enough about this place. I purchased a few cigars this past Saturday evening and smoked one in the lobby/lounge area, just outside the humidor.
