Came by here for a quick lunch after work a few weeks ago. Satisfying experience! This restaurant is styled like an old timey diner. There's lots of parking out front and the interior is spacious and has plenty of room for lots of visitors. They have classic American lunch options like hamburgers and onion rings, but they also do plate lunches with a little bit more southern flair. One of their specialties is "broasted" chicken, which is a method of frying chicken using a pressure cooker. For my lunch, I ordered a plate with two broasted tenders, fries, a roll, and a drink. Service was warm and friendly. It did take my meal a decent time to come out, especially since they weren't super busy, but it was hot and fresh when I received it. The tenders were very large and juicy. Broasted tenders tend to not have a very dense batter/coating but what there was I found crispy and crunchy. I do wish there'd been a little extra seasoning/kick to it, but solid tenders overall. The fries comes in several different varieties ("seashore," crinkle cut), but I chose seashore, which I interpret to mean they had Old Bay or some other seasoning on them - whatever it was, it tasted pretty good. The roll was kind of sad and hard but it obviously wasn't the main event, lol. I enjoyed the chicken and fries and it was a perfect portion for a more manageable but still very filling lunch. We came to Holts again while visiting family! We don't have broasted chicken in Jacksonville Fl. Everything was good, esp the chicken. Hot, moist n delish!! Only thing that kept it from being a 5 star was I didn't see Fonzie or Richie. Food was delicious. Typical 50 style diner meat and two Vegs. Meatloaf was great the fried tomatoes were awesome Needed a tad bit of salt but not a complaint just an observation. People next to me had Hamburger and Fries . Went in for food but to be honest the smell in the restaurant made me sick to my stomach but my daughter wanted to get a ice cream cone so I went ahead and got her one and ended up throwing it out the window on the way home.. she tried eating it but it was freezer burnt and when she went to try and eat some of the cone the paper that comes on it stuck on the cone so she couldn't eat it either.. just disappointed will attach pictures of the cone read more

Service was great, place was clean, for dinner: had the chicken and dressing ( the dressing was really dry and clumped together) turnip greens (delicious) , mashed potatoes n gravy (okay) , cucumber salad (okay) and a slice of chocolate pie (dry) for dessert. read more

This is an excellent, very clean and comfortable restaurant in the 50s diner format, serving delicious broasted chicken and everyday blue plate specials. Their fried pork chops, liver and onions and turkey and dressing, with a wide assortment of veggies, are awesome. They have a number of delicious types of hamburgers, as well as hotdogs and corn dogs. Not to be left off, is their great fried catfish and shrimp plates. I enjoy my coffee and eat something here almost every day, as the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to others. Very family friendly. It should be 5-star! read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant from the Yelp rating. One positive, the young lady who took our order was nice. But everything else was negative. It was very dirty, no paper towels in the bathroom, a gallon of bleach on the floor in the bathroom, plastic utensils given to eat hot food, "out of Coke". The food took FOREVER and the place was not that busy. But all that aside, the place was DIRTY. The ketchup bottles had dried on ketchup. This is by far the worst condition of a restaurant we have eaten in many years. That is because we rely on Yelp. This time Yelp failed! This is NOT a four star restaurant. It seems pretty clear the management of the place does not care about basic restaurant requirements. read more

We are all about supporting small businesses in the area and we have done carry out multiple times during Covid. The chicken is sooo incredible! I'm sure you are wondering at this point why I only gave 2 stars... We decided to try dine in today and we ended up leaving without eating. The place was packed with no distancing between tables that we could see. The deciding factor for us though was looking into the kitchen and not seeing one single employee wearing a mask. So they can prepare food with no mask, the girls handing it out had them....so that's a hard no for us. read more

There is a jutebox you are able to pick tunes for free, hand-dipped ice cream cones and of course SunDrop because you are in Tennessee. If you're looking for a 50's/60's style diner experience, you won't be disappointed. They even have hand-dipped ice cream and shakes. The mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls will melt in your mouth. My hubby liked the fried chicken and sweet, mayonaisey slaw too. I want to try the burger which looked really good, but at 1/2 lb., will probably need to share. I'll need to check out the fries and potato wedges at some point too. We think that the prices fit this venue. read more

We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The daily specials are the best: meatloaf is a favorite; macaroni and cheese is perfect; but I love the broasted chicken salad (huge amount of chicken on romaine lettuce). The food was great. Not your normal dinner. You place your order at the register pay and then go sit. It has that dinner style and feel to it. We just happened to be there on bingo night. It was entertaining and the food was great. Half pound burgers and several different sides to choose from. My wife said they have the second best spicy chicken sandwich. The best being good old Chick. They have an ice cream bar to boot. So if you find yourself in little Winchester TN stop here if you get the time. read more

Delicious! Driving through and wanted an inexpensive good place to eat with three kids. This place was all that! So glad we looked on yelp to find a place to eat. Family if five ate a full meal for under $30. Husband had the chicken plate, yum! I enjoyed a Caleb burger and fries, fantastic, fresh with all the toppings. Tried this place for an early lunch today with my family. The burgers were nothing special and my husband's chili came out luke warm at best. They brought another bowl nice and hot, but it tasted like it was fresh out of a can. We ordered 2 chess pieces of pie, but when it came time to get them they said they were out and offered a choc chip pie in place off. It was terrible. We will not be going back. read more

Yo this place was off the hizzle fo shizzle. On god dropped like 10 dollars and was more full than thanksgiving dinner. It slapped. Servers were as sweet as ice cream!
