A little restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. Came in for the breakfast and left stuffed. We both had the T-Town which is 2 large buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs and your choice of Applewood bacon, Sausage or ham. We had the ham and sausage. This was quite tasty. Also don't forget about grabbing a couple of slices of their specially Sundrop cake very moist and delicious. It comes with either a sundrop glaze or whiskey glaze. read more

This place blew my mind. The French onion soup was absolutely something I would come back for. Of course, after a bowl of soup, I had to have a malted, chocolate milkshake and that was over the top. What a great local restaurant. Great service has always. read more

Our families meet at a different restaurant every month to stay close. The Sundrop Shoppe was chosen for its unique location and ambience. We arrived early and began drinking coffee. The other family members arrived about 15 minutes later and we started giving our individual orders to the waitress. She was immediately confused with simple changes... no toast, add hash browns. She brought out 2 sets of cutlery for 5 people and was confused when we asked for more cutlery. My pancakes were mostly doughy, not fluffy. My wife's soup was too salty. Sorry but our first trip to your restaurant will be our last. read more

Sundrop, the drink that can only be found in certain locations. It's kinda sacred around here, but a must have to get you going and keep you going. This is probably the second time I've had the chance to visit here to dine in. I must say you won't be disappointed. Our server was amazing and managed the entire floor by herself even as people continued to pile in. You never seen her sweat or seem overworked, she rolled right with it ensuring that each guests' needs were met. We ordered French toast, bacon and eggs, and pancakes. I have 0 complaints! I'm a French toast kinda girl, and these were amazing. My probably some of the best French toast within the area who serve breakfast. If you're ever in the area and can get here just before the morning rush, it's a must try! A try you won't be disappointed in. I plan to come back during the lunch hours and try some of their other menu items offered. This is a small town gem, that's worth every dime. read more

What an adorable shop. Server was very friendly and the place was as clean as a whistle. I only grabbed an unsweetened tea to go, so this review does not reflect the food, but it is only 11:00 and more than half the tables had customers. Our experience was fine. Service was okay and the food was edible. Nothing to write home about. The white chicken chili arrived cool without the cheese melted on top. If it wasn't a super hot day I would have asked for it to be reheated. We didn't get a float or a milkshake, and perhaps those are the best items on the menu. We were totally underwhelmed by our sandwiches and soup and wouldn't go back. read more

Went to Sundrop Shoppe this morning for breakfast at 0800. Just walking in and looking at the menu made me realize that it had been too long since I was there. It is like going back in time for me as I knew both David and Raymond Prescott growing up in Tullahoma and know Paige, the owner of the Shoppe well. I had two eggs over medium, 3 strips of great bacon and rye bread buttered just right with jelly. Had a medium glass of Orange juice that went well with it. Totally disappointed. Ordered carry out, chicken salad sandwich and club sandwich. Club sandwich had literally one slice of ham/turkey, not worth 13.50 by any stretch of the imagination. Chicken salad sandwich, as evidenced by the photo, had two bites worth of chicken salad and then you are eating a tomato sandwich. Chicken was clearly from a can (chewy). Really sucks because the place is cool inside and I love sundrop but I don't see myself giving it a second chance. read more

Oh my gosh. Great food, tremendous service. Will probably squeeze in a return trip before we leave the area. Highly recommended. Tom had the daily special...jalapeño popper grilled cheese sandwich. Bread was fresh, the combination of peppers and cheese perfect. The homemade from scratch tomato soup was stupendous. My chicken salad plate was scrumptious. Went for lunch today- loved the atmosphere and decor. The staff was friendly and provided great service- however I agree with the review of the person who showed their sandwich after two bites- there wasn't much to it albeit we had the half sandwich and soup so didn't expect a full sandwich but did expect a big enough portion to get 4 or 5 bites out of. The food tasted good- not great but good. We would give them another try for sure! read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was quick and the food delicious. I tried the award winning White Chicken Chili and could taste why the award status. The place is pretty small and usually full at lunch time, but it's fixed up nicely inside. We get to go orders from work every now and then and the club sandwich and potato soup is my go to. I also enjoy the fountain Sun-Drop..so good! I'd like to visit again soon but unfortunately they are not open on weekends at this time. read more

Super tiny and ADORABLE little diner! We went on a Saturday afternoon and they were packed! It was a good little bit of a wait but the staff was super nice and when we did get our table the food was WORTH THE WAIT! The sun drop shoppe is such a cute place and the food is really good. Great place for lunch as I had the chicken salad with fruit. The white chili was also amazing and won a prize. There are not many healthy options in the town, but this is one of them. We also had really good service. I highly recommend if you stop by and especially if you like sun drop soda. read more

A gracious 3 star, wanted to be wowed, but was a little disappointed. First, I will say they were a little busy, we sat at the last available table after which both the behind and in front of us left. We were not acknowleded at all, even cleaned the two tables seated and greeted both before us, not off to a great start. I guess as it was our first visit they were taking care of regulars? Anyway, seemed quaint and had a decent menu. Once she came over seemed very pleasant took our order with out writing down. After a bit I noticed an order sitting in the pick up window for 6 or 7 minutes. The cook finally brought it to our table, not a single thing was right on my order? Asked for a "cup" of soup no scallions and BLT without tomatoe. I got a "bowl" of soup w/scallions and tomatoes on my sandwich, both were not warm and just okay. My MIL's breakfast plate did not look good at all, undercooked bacon dripping with grease and overcooked eggs. My husband's pancakes looked great, but he said they had an odd taste halfway through and rubbery bacon. Really wanted to like this place, but something was off. The last thing that really clinched it was watching the woman pick up a lid for a milk jug off the dirty carpet, toss it into the cold case, then another girl put it back on the jug to close. We are a vintage Soda Shop and luncheon option tucked in downtown Tullahoma with a menu filled with family recipes of sandwiches and delectable desserts featuring Sundrop Cake and floats

History

Established in 2019.

It has always been a vision of David Prescott's to have a restaurant with a tie-in to Sundrop. This coming spring, that vision becomes a reality with the opening of the Sundrop Shoppe & Luncheonette. We are planning an authentic reproduction of a turn of the century drugstore with a full soda fountain and lunch menu. We are excited to continue being a part of the downtown community while expanding our footprint in the area. It is our hope to provide the community with a family friendly spot that welcomes customers to revisit a simpler time in our history when you could savor an ice cream float and visit with friends. We are excited to offer our own Prescott family recipes in a personal menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. It is our hope that you will come visit us when we open in the spring of 2019.

The chicken fresh rolls were decent, but some of the lettuce was not so fresh. Also, the peanut sauce was a little runny for my taste. The sesame chicken was pretty good, however, the fried rice was a little bland. Overall, I would say it was a decent lunch. But I would say, considering they are a little pricier than most Thai restaurants, I was expecting a little more wow. I will definitely give them another try.

The Sundrop Shoppe is a hidden historical gem in Tullahoma, locally owned and operated by a wonderful family. I came for lunch and was impressed by the friendly service and quick turnaround, even though seating was limited and the place was busy. The retro vibe is unmatched, with its luncheonette soda bar and vintage stools giving it a charming, nostalgic feel.
