This was my se be cond visit to Holy Cannoli, and it was as good as the first one. They have a variety of made to order breakfast and lunch choices, including soups, salads and lasagnas, not to mention all their amazing sweets!! We were greeted by two friendly counter ladies who took our order. They accommodated my request for paper boxes versus plastic shell containers. My Stromboli was hot and ready and it didn't take long for my husband's sandwich to get made. Both were yummy!! Prices are average for the meals and I would say the sweets are very reasonably priced. The dining area is spacious and pleasant. They have high and standard tables. They sell three kinds of Maine coffee: CBD, Upta Camp and Mbingo mountain (roasted and packed in Waterville). It is located in the heart of downtown Waterville. The entrance has automated doors (press the blue button kind) and no steps. They are open everyday but Sunday! read more

Help yourself to what is in the cooler. Grab a bag of chips. Grab a beverage from the cooler. Pay at the counter. No service. No printed receipt. Tips assumed at point of sale are 20%, 25%, or 30%. Food is similar to what I have seen in gas stations and corporate self-serve cafeteria - only more expensive, and no one at the self-serve asked for a tip. The cannoli filling was absolutely disgusting and did not resemble any cannoli filling I've ever had. I couldn't taste even a hint of ricotta and it was more like a whipped cream and not sweet. The consistency was gross as well. I am appalled that they call it a cannoli. Some of the cookies were alright, nothing spectacular. I won't dare try anything else they serve after that awful cannoli. read more

For a restaurant with cannoli in the name they were less than satisfactory the crunch was there the filling was filled end to end the taste was terrible. The cream was not sweet enough and too thick. We did however get an eclair and a cream puff under the direction of a fellow patron and both were delicious in consistency sweetness and taste check out the filling on the cream puff stuffed to the gills. We also opted for a heath bar brownie cooked to perfection budgie chocolatey perfect blend of sweet and buttery toffee. I took several pictures of the inside every little area was cute they had a center table that added not only to the ambiance but served as a station for brochures and order forms because as far as we could see they also served salads sandwiches and soup and a to go cooler with tiramisu and different cold dishes you could warm up like lasagna. Our server was both knowledgeable and patient she had been there for 4 years and seemed to really like her job. I love this place! I always try to come up with an excuse to be in the general area so that we MUST stop in. It's counter service and it's pretty quick, even when it's busy. When it's slow, it's no the fault of the staff, it's the customers that are indecisive and waffling about their decisions. I admit, I was that waffle person ONCE...never again, because we know the flow and also our favorites. For ordering of sandwiches, deli orders, basically things that aren't premade in the glass case/counter...you must complete a paper slip. It's pretty great to be able to customize what you want without having to repeat yourself (which is something I hate doing). We have had sandwiches - quality bread and ingredients! We have had their calzone type of offerings - YUM! So good. I have tried many of their cheesecakes. They are delicious.. They are rich and decadent, as cheesecakes should be in my opinion. I loved all of them, I think the blueberry is my favorite followed by Heath Bar. We love all of their cookies and baked goods. One that will get us coming back, even if it is just for this cookie, are their ricotta cookies. They are so hearty, fluffy and delicious. I hesitated sharing that, because every time I share something, they are always sold out. Anyway...sharing is caring. The owner is super nice. The workers are more reserved and task oriented, so don't distract with conversation if they are busy! There are usually plenty of seats and tables, but it can get crowded when there is a show across the street..be warned. I highly recommend this business and food. Excellent! read more

My wife and I went and purchased two traditional cannolis, two cheesecake cannolis, m&m cookie, chocolate eclair, and a cinnamon stick. Nothing I just listed was overly great. The cannolis just don't compare to what you would find in the North End of Boston. We were disappointed by every item except for the chocolate eclair. I'm not so sure I'd make a trip to come here, when there are other bakeries with better products. read more

We ordered the chocolate raspberry cheesecake and an assortment of desserts for my mother's Repast yesterday. Everything was excellent!

Just a quick update a couple of years later. We went back recently, and the service and pastries were still great. I had a pumpkin chip cookie that rocked, and a peanut butter cookie that was even better. It was sort of a bit doughy inside. Don't know if it was intended to be, but there is nothing I like better in a cookie or brownie, so I hope so for when we go back, which I am sure we will. The coffee choices didn't seem very eclectic. I went with a dark roast with the word "Maine" in the name. It was fine but my socks remained un-knocked off! read more

Because of the name I went here specifically for one thing only: Cannoli for Saturday night after dinner/movie treat. Hella disappointed. I realize this isn't the North End of Boston but these were stale and the filling had no taste/NO flavor at all! Also, small for the price. The next day, I tried the cannolis from Farmington's Hannaford Bakery on a whim and those were amazing! Bought more again this week and still delicious-As good as Mikes or Moderns in Boston! So Maybe change the name to "something? Else?" Baked goods have to be consistent regardless of day, time, baker etc. Name your strengths. Things I liked: excellent downtown location in a large modern open space that was clean and inviting. Friendly people working here with positive vibe. Looks more like a healthy lunch spot and Internet cafe with a variety of baked goods but "holy cannolis" it's not. read more

Let me start off by saying that the cake we purchased for my daughter's birthday was excellent. I also had pastry that was excellent. So, this review has nothing to do with the quality of the food. My issue is dishonesty. I called and ordered a 6 inch cake for my daughter's birthday, with "Happy Birthday XXXX" on the top. I asked for the price and I was told $34, comparable to other custom bakeries. I offered to pay over the phone and they said I could pay when I picked up the cake. When I picked it up, the young lady behind the counter (who was really friendly) could not find the price, so she asked the manager. After the manager looked for the person who took the order and could not find her, she quoted $54. I told her I was quoted $34 and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I should have walked away, as well, but we were on our way to the birthday dinner, and I needed the cake. I was a victim of bait and switch. They don't have prices posted, so you are at the whim of whoever is working the register. I suspect that my shirt, which showed the name of the college my daughter attends in Waterville had something to do with the jacked-up price. We will not return. read more

Really delish and super friendly staff. Deserts seriously save room to eat and take some Home. Just like nona used to make sort of place. Off of main street, park and walk down... There's a lot of seating inside. Had the lasagna (you get it from the cooler and they will heat it up). Yum, rich, comfort food. Hubby had the 6inch grinder.. Fresh bread.. Made to your liking for 6.00 wow no brainer that this blows any sub shop away.. Huge cuts of meat, fresh veggies etc. very yummy! I miss the lobster tails, filled fresh to order, from Modern Bakery in Boston's North End. However, my taste for home is satiated here.

Great food, service, and coffee! I even ordered a cake from them and it was tasty and pretty.

I always assumed this was a dessert place, and just always avoided going by to stay away from temptation. But following them on FB, I saw they actually do quite a bit of food. Tried the Stromboli, it was very tasty. Will definitely be trying more items in the future. read more

If you can appreciate a really good sandwich on amazing bread, you must eat here! Bread makes a sandwich and these guys know that to get good bread, you often have to import it from somewhere else, and they do just that from NY. And the cannoli? Wow. SO good! Aside from the delicious lunch and amazing dessert, the incredible standout here are the people. The owners may be some of the friendliest, nicest people that I have met. I am new to Maine and am always astounded at how nice everyone is, but the people I met today at Holy Cannoli are the cream of the crop.
