We declined all fuel services provided since we were planning on returning the car with a full tank. 5 days later we return the car with a full tank of gas (Filled up at a Spinx gas station 2 miles out of the airport.) We received our bill which had a $158 fuel service charge on it saying we brought it back with no fuel. It took 2 hours and a call to the gas station who luckily was able to send us a receipt from the pump we use to get it sent to Avis Customer Service for a refund. Whoever did the intake of our car didn't do their job because they just had to look down and see the gas tank was full.

I let the rep know that I would like to reserve a car and that I have multiple free rental rewards on my account and that I would like to redeem one of those to make my way to Savannah. He said he could not help me because he's unable to make reservations and I would have to do it through the app or make a phone call. That was shocking to me but I didn't make a big deal about it and said ok. I kindly asked for the phone number for customer service so they could help me and he couldn't even give me that. We rented a Lamborghini during our visit to Charleston, SC. Unfortunately, the car smelled strongly of smoke, made a constant crackling noise throughout our rental that did not seem normal, and was missing the rear emblem. We later learned they were already aware the emblem was missing, but this was never disclosed to us before we took possession of the vehicle. We also purchased the unlimited mileage option but ended up driving the car far less than planned because of the smoke odor and the concerning noise. When I contacted the company afterward to share our concerns, I wasn't expecting a full refund since we did use the vehicle. However, I did hope they would at least refund the cost of the unlimited mileage upgrade, as we were unable to fully enjoy the experience we had paid for. Unfortunately, the manager told us there wasn't anything they could do. While I appreciate the professionalism of the staff, the lack of a reasonable resolution was disappointing. Because of the condition of the vehicle and the company's response, we would not choose to rent from them again or recommend them to others.

I got a decent deal (slightly less than $50 a day) and at the counter there was no line (there was a huge line for Budget). After an easy check-in, I went to get a car from the rental lot. I signed up for a compact SUV and there were 5 available. I got the Ford Escape and it was clean inside, no scratches, full tank of gas, and no weird smells. I drove it around for a couple days and returned it easily within 5 minutes at the end of my stay. I got my full deposit back. Overall, I'm satisfied with the cost, convenience, and ease of renting from Alamo.

We were too far away to got back so I contacted Alamo and was told that they would make some allowances on out bill for the nasty stinking inconvenience of the car. Well, on sunny days we were fine, but, at night and on rainy days, 50% of our trip, we were stuck. Our clothes even reeked of cigarettes. Well, lo and behold, when we got the bill we got absolutely ZERO consideration for the nasty car. Imagine that. We travel a fair amount and will refuse any Alamo rental or any of the other rental car companies that they own or control. In this day and age to have a car like that is intolerable.
