I went back and forth with both locations in Mt.Pleasant SC and was not only not impressed but horrified with my whole experience. Elementary, sloppy, no attention to detail, poor interpersonal skills, zero customer service, no apologies. Nothing mattered about making my experience a good one. Please realize that I have not had to rent a vehicle since the mid-1990's and I am just appalled at how very primitive and sloppy this business truly is. If these businesses don't have the right vehicle then please make up for the loss with a lesser price and an apology. Wish I had the energy to explain in detail but they are not worth my energy. I am NOT impressed and do not recommend either location of Enterprise. Flawless experience! My insurance adjuster at Safeco made a reservation for me once I advised her of my drop off date at Caliber Collison. I stopped by a week ahead to discuss my options given my daily rental allowance. On the repair drop off date, as promised, a driver from Enterprise pulled up at Caliber at 9:30 am to take me back to Enterprise to pick up my rental. We checked and noted prior scratches, etc., signed required documents and I drove off. I was given an option of leaving the car and keys at Caliber; however, I thought it best to return the rental to Enterprise, myself, to assure that everything checked out in my presence. A driver took me back to Caliber to pick up my waiting chariot. No glitches ... so easy ... everyone was friendly and helpful. This was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car. I rented one days ago, received a confirmation, and then 1 hour before pick up I was told they had no cars. I missed my trip. I again had to rent a car with them yesterday. I received TWO confirmation confirming they had a car. I went to go pick it up today and when I got to the counter they told me they had zero cars. I again missed an urgent trip to a funeral and had to spend and extra $300 to change my flight that I now would miss without the car. When I pulled in the lot there was 1 large suv in the lot, the exact same car that I had reserved. When I was in line there were two guys in front of me needing help and they drove off in the 1 large SUV left. When I approached the counter and said the name on my reservation, you would tell he had just messed up and given my car away to the guys in front of me. He was absolutely no help in finding a new car at another location either. Clearly your system on how to reserve cars if failing you. Figure out a way to not be able to rent a car if you do not have any or alert the customer asap. I called 7 times before going to this enterprise to triple check my reservation and it rang forever and then I was told no one could come to the phone. When I got there and told them that, he said sorry there's only two of us working so they just weren't answering phones...which is funny cause they were both just sitting around and if they had zero cars to give out then I dont think they really had anything to do. I was patient to a point but twice in a week, missed trips, confirmations that were not upheld, and no help to solve either problem is not good management. read more

Went to enterprise because they were to have a Tahoe in and it's close. Upon arriving the only SUV was a Nissan Armada, completely ok. The car was around the side of building and we went with the girl to complete our reservation. She started the car and it sounded like a diesel engine- something was most definitely wrong with the vehicle, it had 40K miles on it which is insane and every tire was gouged, bald and cupped, which now we cannot accept a vehicle that is not safe to drive let alone in the rain. it shouldn't even been on the road We took the photos of the tires to show the manager (he was inside) and thr Nissan was around the building. We get inside to find a VERY snarky manager Austin. He said he heard the tires weren't good so we showed him the pictures, his response was "glad you took pictures" in a condescending way. He responded that we could rent from somewhere else if we didn't want that vehicle and it must have "slipped though the inspection, we are all human" with the tires looking like that. He dangled the keys in the air and said it will be taken off the road right now- which we are pretty sure he just rented it to the next customer, so if you rented an armada, silver, 40k miles from mount pleasant today, this isn't safe!! Unacceptable behavior, dangerous cars and an attitude to top it off. They don't want or need business obviously. Went to the airport instead. read more

Was scammed out of 600$. Was in an accident that was not my fault, progressive sent me here to get a car i had to pretty much reserve it my self. they said they didn't have an economy car and had to give a bigger car for free. They said I had to give them my card information for damages but nothing would be charged. Well at the end they had charged 600$ in"upgrade" fees for the bigger car. I called twice to talk to a manager and "he's busy" he would call back, never happened. I went up there and " they would talk with Progressive and the manager would get back to me, never happened. they must be in with progressive cause "there's nothing we can do"Progressive says. So beware or get a lawyer if this happens to you. read more

HORRIBLE. Was told Enterprise would meet me at my auto shop day of service and to call 15 Minutes prior to my apt. I tried calling 7 times no one picked up. I drive twenty minutes out of my way each direction to get to the physical Enterprise location off Johnny dodds. When I arrive all all three workers are just sitting there and I let them no no one is answering there phone, I'm late for my car apt and ask for someone to follow me to the auto shop in north mount pleasant. I get to the auto shop and no one is there. A van shows up and I'm told I'm now going to be brought back to south mount pleasant to pick up the rental. NIGHTMARE. AVOID. This location is great! I've been renting cars for work for 2 months now, and the service here is friendly and professional! When I arrive they greet me, and the pick up of the car proceeds in a timely manner. The cars are like new, clean, well maintained. I usually return the cars after they close, so they have a drop box for keys. My last service included an upgrade to a BMW X5, which I loved. The branch manager Davis Partin handled a small issue for me, and exceeded my expectations with the upgrade. I wish I could recall all the names of the service desk staff, as they all were exceptionally nice and professional. This location may seem odd, but it's been here a long time. To start, the car reeked of smoke. I then agreed to have the optional insurance coverage. Upon speaking with the company about the remaining charge at the end of the rental, I was told I had rented the car for 10 days, despite it only being 9 days. After presenting this fact, the employee then corrected it to 9 days. The employee then told me I owed $228 for the remaining 6 days (after already paying for 3) despite being told the plan would be $15/day. After explaining this fact to the employee, I was then told it would only be a $91 charge. Therefore, the information presented throughout the rental has been conflicting and wrong. Despite another insurance company paying for this rental...thankfully, I would never trust this company to rent from for my own personal use in the future. read more

Sweet Caroline....Good times never seemed so good, so good, so good.... So it's not too often that you find yourself using a neighborhood location, but when you need one, Enterprise is right there for you, hey, they pick you up! So The bad. Went to get some body work done on my truck at Ascue's and gave them a call ahead of time to let them know I would need to be picked up. They pretty much said, call them when I get there...oh great, more wait. Well come to find out that while I was waiting there, another guy had been waiting for almost 30 minutes (considering the office is about 5-8 minutes away, unsat). When the very nice and pretty young lady picked us up...well...it was in a Mustang...so after he squeezed himself in the back, and myself in the front, we rode, had great conversation, and when we pulled up to the office, tucked and rolled out that car. The Office agents ALL were pleasant and great. My agent was Caroline, who was a gem! Only faux pas was the car to be rented didn't have fuel.. I went ahead and got an upgrade for the fuel. The upgrade was pretty much a brand new A4...only 25 miles on it at pickup... very nice car.. When I got back, one of the managers gave me a GOJF card with a free tank of gas on my next rental. Worst customer service. do not rent here. the staff is rude and the supervisors are equally as unintelligent and rude too. I'm extremely insulted by the way I was treated. I was mislead and withheld information when leaving with a rental through my insurance. I have been charged 4 times on my cc that I should not be paying because they didn't have any cars on the lot in my price range (including taxes) so I left with a $40 a day vehicle which was my limit with my insurance. the staff failed to tell me and withheld the information that if they do not have a vehicle on the lot they will honor the price of the vehicle you take. I've now been charged over $100 in taxes and will get charged more in the next week. On top of that they're saying I have to return my car 5 days earlier than my 30 days bc of taxes that they should be honoring. This place is ridiculous and I'm extremely unhappy. The only car they had available was an insanely huge pick up truck, so that's what my mom and I took. It was pretty awful to drive, and at one point we hit the wall in a parking garage that was tight. We were honest, admitted it when we dropped it off. Manager said he was really grateful we let them know, said most people drop the keys and run when that happens. My insurance did not have collision, so it wouldn't cover the damage. They told us ask the credit card company (the card I paid for it with) if they will, guess sometimes they do. But no, my credit card company also wouldnt help. I was liable for it all. The manager at enterprise told us I'd get a bill in the mail, but don't worry the mechanic they use is "pretty reasonable." I waited a month+ for the bill to come, whole time enterprise is calling and emailing me asking about my insurance and credit card- repeatedly I'm like "we've already been over this, no. Leave me alone, I'm just waiting for the bill." Finally the bill comes, and yeah enterprise was apparently so "grateful" for our honesty that they tacked on over $1000 extra for 'loss of use.' It was a dent, they could have let someone drive it if they had to. It wasn't even in perfect shape when they gave it to me... Anyway, the bill was about $7300 total. I paid it online fully, as soon as it finally came. AND THEYRE STILL EMAILING AND CALLING, SAYING THE SAME SHIT!!!!!!!! I guess I just have to hear about it until I die. read more

Right from the start Bill picked me up very timely to take me to the location. Kris quickly checked me in and confirmed my reservation. His professionalism and thoughtfulness to make sure the car I was given would fit my mother's walker was really appreciated. The car was immaculate and we did not have any issues the entire week we had it. I'm renting a lot cars lately so I can definitely say that this is one of the better services out there. As I'm becoming a regular, I get greeted on a first name basis every single time I come in, by every single employee. They are always very helpful and although the rental proces always takes forever (which is normal in 2016), they alway manage to have a chitchat going so the passing of the time feels faster. This particular office is a very recent one but you have to love what they did to it. All the rentals are always very clean and the agents are very much on key and detailed on when it comes to handing over your rental or returning. I'm pretty dissappointed to see the negative reviews below and I hope that this agency quickly gets the recognition it deserves. They are way better than any of the more expensive rentals around and way more flexible which is very important in this day and age. If there's is some negative, i would say it's that they still work with paper instead of table or any other digital registration. read more

I normally rent from Hertz but thought I would give Enterprise a try as local Hertz didn't have the vehicle type I was looking for. I was surprised when they told me there was a $200 cleaning deposit required. Since they were so concerned about the cleanliness of the vehicle I expected it to be very clean which of course was not the case. The most blaring lack of cleaning was the inside of the windshield which with the sun shinning of it showing shoe prints on the passenger side. Unlike Hertz who makes the pick up process as fast as they can Enterprise intentionally slows down the process to ensure your time is wasted. Even though I was using my companies account which includes LDW they insist on the silly time wasting walk around to point out any damage. With LDW I could bring it back in pieces and be covered so get me in and out faster. Another silly thing is they don't allow pets in their vehicles and will keep your deposit if they see pet hair when you return the vehicle. But having your shoe imprinted on the windshield is OK just so you know!!!! read more

Worst business ever. When I picked up the car it had a chip in windshield, I called a few days later and let them know the chip was spreading. After telling me the chip was previously noted and I would not be responsible Chris offered me another car if I wanted, which I declined. After turning the car in they informed me I would need to file a claim with my insurance company. The manager was rude and so I escalated to corporate. Corporate office informed me that there was no claim against me and that the local office needed to send me a letter in writing. Instead I received a bill for $423 for a new windshield and a letter stating they had filed the claim with my insurance company. I've already informed the branch manager of an incorrect email address namely my brother's being exchanged for mine. This is the second time within a year and it's still NOT fixed! I was told by the branch they have to confer with their IT Dept to correct the mistake? R U Kidding Me? (You have to confer with your IT Dept?). Correct it already! it's been over a Year! In the meantime, I'm getting my brother's invoice with the inclusion of his billing address, last 4 digits of his credit card number, and other personal information which should be for his eyes only! I also get a surplus of other marketing junk email. The irony of it all? Just Now received an email addressed to my brother, but sent to me - that is - to rate Enterprise (this is the reason for this review as the links gave me link options to come here @ Yelp.) Ok, so here it is Enterprise - I guess you've created your own bed - lay in it. I was informed by the Branch Mgr. last week, she is going to correct it and will give me a status within a week. When I made a reservation I called the number to Mount Pleasant which actually went to call center. So after calling from the repair shop I was picked up promptly. After I arrived I stated that I was a plus member and gave them my debit card which I knew is $250 usual deposit. I will say I've NEVER had to endure needing a bill from where I was living ... Thank goodness I had my lease that I had printed off before leaving work. And I had to stand there and wait for them to call my insurance company to verify my existence. I've rented many of times from Enterprise and never did I ever go through the experience that I went through. As a plus member I thought this was suppose to make renting less complicated as well as expedite. As I was told being a Plus member didn't even matter in this situation. It was critical that I have a car due to being on medical call in the event of someone needing surgery. Had I not had those documents with me I wouldn't have been able to rent a car. In the end of this ordeal yes I did get a car and Mike did tried to make up for the bad experience by doing a upgrade but I've have to say experience made me question my loyalty to renting from Enterprise. As for calling a number that is listed on the website then being routed to a call center which they didn't identify themselves as such is the other issue. Excellent service by a thoughtful, polite staff and I loved the car I was given so much, a silver Nissan Versa, that I almost cried when I dropped it off, I loved driving it so much. Clean and comfortable 4 door with nice zip! I often rent cars in Hawaii and they all have bad odors when parked out in the sun. This car smelled clean and fresh. Great job, you guys!! Man, these guys are freaking pushy. First, you get there, and they can't be bothered to help you. There are like ten people in the office, and only one working the counter. The rest all sit at their desks and don't even move. Once you finally get service, it takes them forever to find your rental agreement. Once they find that, they go through everything, and take a deposit on your credit card. All the while, they're pushing their loss and damage waiver. Constant. Moreover, they try to scare you into paying $17/day for the LDW (and I actually think the full coverage is more like $27/day) by saying that they collect your insurance deductible, regardless of fault, in the event of an accident or damage. Finally, you get outside, and once again, they're pushing you hard on the LDW. I get it. You get a bonus based on additional services purchased. Fine. When you start inspecting the car, they bring you a wet or dirty car (I saw this happen three times) so that you really can't see the paint on the vehicle. They don't explain to you that the damage to the vehicle has to be bigger than a business card for them to charge you, so again, they're pushing the LDW, but not giving you the facts. I only happened to notice a bull's eye on the woman's clipboard, and questioned her on it. Sure enough, bigger than the bull's eye, and they charge, smaller, and they don't. Save yourself a hassle and a nervous breakdown, and rent from someone else. Oh, the Fusion they gave me was very under-optioned, compared to what I've gotten from other rental agencies. National might be a couple bucks more expensive, and they're out at the airport, but they're much, much better. read more

I've rented from this location twice and have had good experiences both times. The reps have always been incredibly friendly and on it. They explained exactly what I was getting and didn't push the additional offers too much. Just a few weeks ago, I was looking to rent a small vehicle to take on a business trip to DC. I asked for a bluetooth vehicle and the rep explained it would be $5 more additionally bc they're only available in full size vehicles. Fine by me. Then he offered insurance which I initially refused (I always do since i have full coverage on my end - why pay twice?). Once we did the walk around of the car, he again offered the insurance but in a very conversational way. He explained given I was traveling in pretty nasty weather, and into a city where a nick could easily chip the car... he'd really recommend it. He reminded me that tho my personal insurance covers the car, it does with a deductible...so anything small, I'd end up paying out of pocket anyway. And this trip was very much due for something small (winter storm + city + awful drivers = you do the math). Long story short, I couldn't be more thankful he explained it as he had, and that he did it in the way he did (not being pushy... no one likes a pushy sales rep). Three miles after getting on the main highway, a rock jumped up and sure enough nicked the rental. And that was before the questionable weather... which ended up being a lot of ice and snow. My fear of paying a ton bc someone was about to slide into me subsided greatly on this trip... all bc this guy took the time to explain why I'd be good especially in my case. I got a great last minute rate for a compact car. When I arrived, they did not have a compact car available. I ended up with an SUV so I was very pleased. The staff are very nice and thorough. I had no issues with my rental. I was bothered though by their fuel policy. They did not give me a car with a full tank. The fuel gauge was about mid-way between full and half. I was told to return the car with the same amount fuel. When I was putting gas in the tank prior to returning the car, I had to guess the amount of gas I needed to return with the same amount of gas as when I picked it up. Of course, I did not guess well and ended up with the tank being almost fuel. read more
