This was the 2nd time visiting the Blue Goose in Fort Worth. We happen to have the same waiter both times (Dallas was his name). He remember us as we did him. Wonderful service. Only getting 4 stars because the portion size was small. Flavor was great! The chicken tortilla soup has good sized chunks of chicken and good amount of avocado. Very poorly run, unprofessional restaurant per our experience here: 1. We were not acknowledged or greeted at all when we walked in. The woman was just playing around with the ipad reservations without looking up until I was finally able to get her attention after several minutes and she seemed bothered and said just give me a few minutes. 2. Then she finally said it would be a 40 minute wait for a reservation, even though there were tons of empty tables. Then about ten minutes later we got the text that it was available, we lost it since we thought it would be 40 minutes not 10. 3. After finally getting a table, they never gave us the napkin with silverware so we had nothing to eat with. Since the waitress never came back, we had to ask someone else in the restaurant for silverware and napkin to eat our food. It was our first time here and service from the hostess, Mia, to the server Ryan made it a pleasant experience. Mia was very friendly and bubbly and struck up a small conversation as she took us to our seat and our server, Ryan did an excellent job from taking our drink order to bringing us our ticket and everything in between.There was a bit of a wait because there was a party of 20 on the inside (We sat on the patio) and he came and let us know that it was gonna take a little longer than normal because of that party and we appreciated that little bit of information Instead of just letting us sit there to wonder what was taking so long. He was very attentive in filling our chips and tea cups. My food was not as hot temperature wise as I would have liked but overall a great experience for our first time. Can't go wrong with Texmex at Blue Goose. What they do, they do well. We ordered the steak fajita plate with shrimp. The beef was done well and the shrimps were very juicy and flavorful. Definitely meets all my expectations as far as fajitas go. The cream cheese and guacamole really go a long ways. Goose also comes with standard chips and salsa to get you started. Service was very reasonable and spacious was very abundant. You shouldn't have any problems with parking within the strip center. read more

The salsa was also tasty and loved that it had some spice to make it quite enjoyable. For my main meal I went with the blue goose chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was quite tasty and loved the amount of chicken packed into each piece. The chicken was also seasoned well and tasted pretty good. We added the queso as an appetizer, and it was a delicious addition. There's a lunch menu that applies from 11am-4pm on weekdays. My coworker and I both went for the lunch mesquite grilled fajitas. Let's just simply say we couldn't finish everything. We barely touched the charro beans since we were so full. The corn tortillas were also very good. Another favorite of mine is their enchiladas. Wow , just Wow!!! Stopped for lunch on vacation. Close to TCU and the Ft Worth Zoo. Lunch specials M-F. I had the beef fajita salad with Jalapeno Ranch. So fresh and yummy. The fact that no one bothered to introduce themselves at the host counter led to my decision to just seat myself at the bar. Sitting at the bar tables and not the bar itself lead to another long wait before anyone came by. The chips came faster than the wait staff. Sad. Today I had the pick three, which is a great deal. Two hard tacos, chicken and beef, and the Taco Dorado (spelling?). The Taco Dorado was really good. The hard shell tacos were good, not as much flavor as the other. Charro beans are good, had some bacon chunks in it, very good. The food is good, but the personal touch with the wait staff is lacking compared to the other locations. I do like the location, but dealing with the minor failings twice in a row makes it hard to return. read more

I ordered the chicken tamales (super flavorful), El Dorado tacos (crispy and delicious), and fajitas -- which came out sizzling and were perfectly seasoned. For dessert, the sopapillas were a sweet, fluffy finish. Our server Edmond was excellent -- attentive, kind, and genuinely made the meal more enjoyable with great service and timing. I have had lunch here several times. The food is average. My family likes the salsa and queso and the chips are usually very good. The entrees are not outstanding On my last visit, I ordered a lunch chicken fajita salad. It was ok. When the bill arrived, my $11.50 salad was listed as a $13.00 steak salad with a $4 up charge for changing to chicken. So my original order of chicken fajita salad was now 17.00. It was corrected when I complained. But my advice is check your bill. read more

Was in Ft. Worth for work and was looking for good bites around my hotel and this place popped up. Never had heard of blue goose before but apparently there are a few of them around. Why not Mexican it is. I am still not sure if it's a seat yourself or they have a host. Stood awkwardly for a few minutes without anyone talking to me, despite folks walking around me but it is what it is. I was solo so went to the bar. They aren't exactly fast to bus seats there. I wanted to watch the game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals and they only had it on two TVs. So had to sit by the dirty drink station. Was greeted quickly once I sat down. Has chips and salsa quick. And ordered my water with no ice. I wasn't looking for anything fried, but they had a burrito that was deep fried. Asked "hey man, can I just get the burrito without it being fried?" The wife and I were out shopping on University and decided to check this place out today. The staff seemed very nice. We walked to the table and I sat down I noticed the booth wasn't cleaned. The staff immediately apologized profusely and got it cleaned immediately. I mean accidents happen and they were incredibly prompt on fixing it. I can appreciate that. Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive also. Got the queso and salsa and I loved the flavor and smokey after taste on the salsa. The queso was creamy and had a great flavor to it. We got the shrimp tacos and the tacos Al pastor. I can say the shrimp tacos could use a little more flavor. The tacos Al pastor were really good and had a decent amount of heat. They started us with a serving of tasty thin crisp chips and individual bowls of salsa. Hubby won't eat anything with much spicy heat and he loved the salsa. It had good flavor, but I would have preferred something with more of a kick. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and we were amazed when they brought us a heaping bowl sprinkled with cotija cheese. It was good guacamole and there was plenty of it. For entrees we ordered the lunch portions of the combo fajitas and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Fajitas were good and the beef was cooked medium. Hubby really liked it, but I found the meat to be quite bland and in need of seasoning. I am very sensitive to salt and a lot of dishes have too much salt for me. For me, these fajitas needed some salt or other seasonings to give them flavor. The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious. Bacon on outside had a nice crisp sear and the shrimp inside was perfectly cooked. Would definitely order the shrimp again. As far as sides go, beans were bland and needed more seasoning, but the rice was very good. I usually don't eat the rice but it had good flavor and no mixed vegetables, which are a bit of a turn off for me. Definitely worth a try. I'm sure we'll be back if we are in the area. read more

This was my second time here, and if it was closer to my house, I would have been back sooner. The first time I went to the Grapevine location, this time, I went to the Fort Worth location. We went there just before 3, and we missed the brunch, but next time I'll make it because they have $5 mimosas. I had the ginger fish tacos that are an appetizer but made it my entree and added elote and black beans because the sides are only $2 each. My husband got the chimiganga, and my daughter got the brisket tacos. We all made happy plates because the food was fresh and got it to us very quickly. While we waited for our food, we had our own personal salsas with chips, which were so light and yummy . My only note was that my drink was as much as my food, which was $12.
