Most beautiful patio in Metroplex. Margaritas are best and I personally love the food.

We sat outdoors mid-Summer and it was still comfortable (well-shaded). Our friends we so familiar with the place that they didn't even wait to see menus but ordered family style for everyone. They grew up nearby and this is the local spot they wanted to show off the most :-) We tried combo fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and nachos. All were good. And the service was epic! We also enjoyed a pitcher of excellent margaritas :-) We didn't even see the inside is the restaurant but there was seemingly no end to the outside. It's a large space filled with plants and fountains and cool lighting and it really just sets a mood. It's like something on the San Antonio Riverwalk but bigger. I was really impressed. We had so much fun that I forgot to take any pictures. Well, that's not true. I took a lot of picks but only of my wife and friends in various locations there. It's a very photogenic setting, especially at night. I could see doing large events here like wedding dinners and so forth. Well after being back in the great state of Texas, I finally made it to Joe Teague Garcia's for Father's Day. We got there early and had a big round table on the patio, which is wonderful. I had margaritas and our family had an assortment of food I had chili relleno w cheese and a shredded beef taco Guacamole was spot on Parking wasn't bad as we got there at 1030 Line for the patio seating was stacked up by the time we left Inside wasn't packed My humble opinion is this is a very good restaurant Clean Atmosphere Heritage And pretty dang good grub ! read more

This place is amazing. It could be the largest place I have ever been in too. We had a pretty large group getting together and though we had a private space in the middle of the restaurant that was still open to the air around us -- it both felt private and like we were taking up less than a single table in the whole place. Okay, bad description, but take it for what I am trying to say. For us, the food kept coming. I never saw a menu so I am not going to call out specific items. In general, the margaritas were great and kept flowing, the nachoes were amazing, and the main meal, well things started to get fuzzy around that point. More seriously -- come here, enjoy. It is just a short walk from the more "Nashville" part of town and it is well worth the trek. read more

Joe T. Garcia's is one of those places that comes with a lot of hype, but my experience didn't quite live up to it. The biggest issue is the wait. It's long. Eating inside is technically a shorter wait, but still takes forever. As a party of two, we waited about 45 minutes just to get inside, and the outdoor wait looked even worse because of the extreme hype surrounding their patio/outdoor space. That said, one thing they do really well is letting you order margaritas while you wait. Getting a pitcher made the whole process a lot more tolerable, and honestly, you have to do it. The margaritas were easily the best part of the experience. Once inside, the atmosphere was underwhelming. It's about as standard as it gets for a Mexican restaurant, and it didn't feel like much effort was put into making it memorable. On top of that, it's cash only, which in 2026 feels pretty outdated and inconvenient. Service was friendly, but slow and pretty absent throughout the meal. We didn't feel particularly taken care of. The food itself was just okay. The fajitas were fine, but nothing stood out or made them worth the wait. Overall, this place feels really overhyped. The margaritas are great and definitely help the experience, but they are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Without them, this would have been an even lower rating. read more

First time here. Long line to be seated but moves pretty quick. Beautiful patio. Service is very fast. Waiter Andrew was very pleasant and knowledgeable. For dinner they only have two options. Enchiladas and fajitas. We got three plates of fajitas which was way more than enough for 5 people. They take photos of you that can be purchased it if you want. 1 for $15 2 for $25. Stopped by Joe T. Garcia's for a quick lunch on my way to a conference and it ended up feeling like a mini escape. The outdoor seating is so charming lush plants, colorful flowers, and a peaceful fountain that makes you want to stay awhile. I had the chicken fajita bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The margaritas were definitely tempting but I behaved and stuck with water... next time for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The courtyard is honestly breathtaking. This is not the best Mexican food that I've ever had however it is definitely worth visiting. The ambience and service are top notch and we did not leave there feeling like we were price gouged - not a tourist trap. Visiting Fort Worth. Went there on a Thursday afternoon. Already ate, but still decided to pay a visit for their infamous Garden because my Gemini AI told me to -- and was not disappointed! The Garden is indeed gorgeous -- felt like I stepped in time and into another country. Already had a Salisbury Stake at Paris Coffee Shop half an hour ago; I just couldn't eat anymore. So I decided to try their desserts with their house coffee instead. Had 3 of their desserts: Sopapillas, Parlines, Leche Quemada. All amazing. My favorite was their Leche Quemada -- soft, moist and chocolatty. The atmosphere, the servers and all of the staffs are amazing! Especially their hospitality -- out of this world. I wanna take a moment to talk about my server, DANIELLA, for a second -- amazing young lady: attentive; very fast and efficient but not rushing; clearly loves her job and very good at it. She checked-in with me multiple times, asked me how I like it and if I need anything. Topped up my coffee. When I ordered my third dessert, she also brought me a little bag with her and said "here's a bag to take it you if you can't finish it". Well. She was right; I couldn't indeed finish it. There is always a line of people who want to eat at this iconic location, so be ready to wait a bit. Today, my husband and I shared the beef fajita lunch. When eating chips and salsa beforehand, this is more than enough to share. We even took some fajita meat home. Some of the items come to the entire table to be passed around and shared. This is the biggest restaurant I've ever been to. Space is huge! We walked through multiple indoor and outdoor spaces to get to our seat in the back room (we had a larger group of about 15). The outdoor space was beautiful at night with all of the lighting and the fountain. Food was okay but the restaurant vibe, nice waiters, and the portions made up for the taste. As big of a space it was, portions were also big too and extremely cheap considering how much food they gave. I've read all the reviews on Google and here on yelp... let me dispel some of the negatives, but to level the 5-Star positives... 1. The place is MASSIVE... and the outside patio IS worth the wait. 2. Sorella (sp?) is the manager, well spoken, and is the adult to all the youngsters working there... If you have questions, find the adults (I'm almost 56 lol!). Why am I explaining this... I and certain members of my party have food allergies. Sorella explained what I needed to tell my server and my food came out right... (see photo). 3. Our server was the nicest person I've seen out of California... right attitude, more than happy to accommodate... 4. Yes, everything is cooked/fried in LARD.. you can get main dishes altered.. but unless you want to eat a flour or corn tortilla... you're it eating the chips. 5. Their delicious desserts are lard free, you gotta try the pecan thing, looks like a fritter, but it's all sugar and goodness... literally ate it before my dinner. 6. Now, this is Texas... Have an option for chips not fried in lard... Please change your meat vendor, or buy a different cut... or at the very least marinade it? Even the mariachi band was good (a touch out of tune but as a 40+ year musician maybe I'm too critical? Dunno). Three part harmony was surgery and the trumpet player nailed every note! So all this negative Nelly's out there and the same token all the people that are ranting and raving about it, It's four stars. Brass tacks and bottom lines, if you have an allergy issue or you need something adjusted, just talk to the waiter or waitress and tell them Sorella wants it made like this... you can get something not made with lard, but you need to tell them upfront. If you don't tell them you eat something that you don't like you have no right to complain about it. If you don't ask, you cannot get! The service was good. The steak on the fajita tasted like it was boiled not grilled and not particularly flavorful. Very underwhelming.

Brought some visiting friends here while we were at the stockyards, it was about a 10 min walk but very worth it for a bite to eat before we had to head back to see the rodeo. I will say this visit was not planned so we didn't plan to come early or anything. SO glad we opted to eat inside the line to get in was much shorter like (2-3 parties) and we were able to meet our tight time table. The patio is a nice atmosphere but man 6:00pm on a saturday the line for that one was more than down the block insane! I split the fajitas with my friend and it was definitely a lot of food. How would you like it if you tried to withdraw $120 from the dedicated restaurant ATM, and it only gave you a $20 bill, but charged your bank for $120? Plus a $2.25 fee. Plus my bank charges me another $3! I had to borrow cash from my kids to pay for the meal. Food is fine, but the cash-only deal feels like a scam between this restaurant and the local company that owns the ATMs. Somebody is getting a nice kickback here, but it's harming their customers. If there is any place to eat in Fort Worth it has to be Joe T Garcia's. Serving up delicious Mexican comfort food. There are two separate lines for this spot one for indoors and outdoors. The outdoor line is typically longer but from what I hear it is worth it and they feature a beautiful patio. The line moves quickly and fairly efficiently. Where do I start.... When we were in Fort Worth, this place was recommended by several people. Figured why not. I wish we hadn't. First, what place in this day and age besides the random food truck only accepts cash? You have to use an atm machine on site if you didn't bring cash. The menu is limited. I will give the restaurant this, it's beautiful outside. That's where most of the positives stop. We had the tamales dinner, chicken fajita salad, and beef fajitas. They also brought us chips and salsa. The salsa was...well not good and not spicy in the least bit. We didn't eat it after the first bite. Of note, that's the only salsa offered period. No other table salsa available. I mean even Taco Bell has different sauces. The tamales were mostly masa with limited filling. Which is a shame because the Filling wasn't half bad. The masa lacked fat. It was dry. We didn't use the gravy or chili that it came with. We don't get it, and it's sacrilege. The rice was actually good. The only reason it's a two is because the fajita was actually quite good. They give you plenty of it too. Wait, another negative is they only have refried beans. No charro offered. Tsk tsk. They do give you a ton of guacamole. Very much appreciated. Where the beef fajita was great. The chicken tastes like Chinese Buffett chicken. It's was very surprising. Not at all fajita. If I was eating Chinese it would be good. I had corn tortillas. I believe they are store bought. At least if they were, they were high quality ones. Another perplexing thing, what restaurant doesn't have tortilla warmers? They brought our tortillas in between two small plates? Our waiter also served us wrong refills on several occasions. Visited Joe T. Garcia's with a group of 6 and had a mixed experience. First off, the check-in process was confusing. We were told in line to notify the hostess, but when we tried, we got scolded and sent back to wait. Not the warmest welcome, but the line did move fast, and they handed out cold water bottles, which helped in the heat. Once seated, the atmosphere is beautiful--lush plants, stone walkways, and a real Mexican hacienda feel. It's like dining in a garden. Definitely Instagram-worthy. Heads up: They are CASH ONLY. Yes, in 2025. In Fort Worth. There's an ATM on-site, but it's frustrating not being able to use a card in a place this popular. As for the food: we ordered the cheese quesadilla appetizer, beef fajitas, and combo fajitas. Everything came out fast and hot. The fajitas were flavorful with generous portions, and the tortillas were fresh. The food was solid--not mind-blowing--but good enough that we cleared our plates. We also had margaritas, which didn't taste like fresh juice, but were cold, decent, and easy to sip on. Biggest downside? The heat. Most of the seating is outdoors, and there's no air conditioning--just a few fans. It was over 90°F when we went, and by the end of the meal we looked like we just finished a hot yoga session. Definitely recommend going later in the evening or during cooler weather, or bring a portable fan if you can. Service was great though--super friendly, helpful, and kept things moving smoothly. Bottom line: Worth a visit for the atmosphere and experience, but it's not the most comfortable in summer heat. If you are looking for a nice outdoor place to sit & enjoy a drink I would recommend it however if you are looking for good food & at a decent price I would not recommend it. The space is huge and it is all outdoors. The menu was a bit odd to us & the options are all very large & there aren't a ton of options & they all are pretty pricey. My margarita was $12.50 & I'm not really a drinker but it didn't really seem like there was much alcohol in it. Overall we were a bit underwhelmed with our experience. read more

Got the tortilla soup and it was salty couldn't eat it at all. I felt discrimination towards us because me and my family are mexican and other people were white and they got service faster then us, we brought it up to management but she brushed it off like nothing and honestly it's not authentic mexican food at all. Was a little scary pulling up to see two massive lines of waiting customers. One was for inside the longer and second line was for outdoor patio seating. This place can accommodate huge parties. Having a pitcher of margaritas while you wait was a nice plus. The line moved fairly quickly considering the size of groups coming through. Service was promo and helpful in the decision of quantities to select of the two signature dishes for our table of 12. They offered enchiladas and fajitas, that's it. It comes out family style and super hot ready to go. The margaritas should be mentioned in that the quality for MASS production was pretty good. Could definitely use a little more tequila. Lastly, this place is cash only. ATM on site. I didn't see many tables with less than 8-10 people, huge Spanish patio with greenery and fans.
