My wife and I hadn't been to Chuy's in a while and we were in the area, so we decided to stop in. This is our favorite location and the one closet to our home. We were greeting warmly as we were shown to our table. Soni, our server, for our visit introduced herself and asked if we had any questions about the menu. Since we weren't too hungry, we decided to order the Appetizer Sampler plate, thinking that would be the perfect combination of yummies for us. While waiting for our appetizer, we enjoyed the chips and salsa. I especially LOVE Chuy's Cilantro Jalapeño dip. It's addictive and so delicious. When Soni brought the Sampler plate to our table our eyes got as big as dinner plates. The platter was huge and there was enough to share with 4 people not just 2 who weren't too hungry. If we'd been going home, we could have taken a to-go box, but we had another engagement. The platter had quesadillas, flautas, nachos, guacamole, queso, pico and jalapeños, 4 of each. Oh my. We had a delightful time enjoying the deliciousness and doing quite a bit of people watching, that's always so much fun. Soni took wonderful care of us throughout our visit, she was very attentive. What an absolutely phenomenal experience. We are in such awe from our experience I am sitting on the sofa over one month later talking about how wonderful our first experience at Chuys. Daniel was our waiter and was so professional and treated us like we were family and welcome in his family home/restaurant. We were in excellent hands. From this moment, we didn't even need to try the food, we knew we were in good hands. True Texan hospitality. He was patient, explained the menu, personable, made local recommendations. If I were a restaurant owner, this is who I would want to work for my business. Thank you! We sat in a booth near the bar area. We opted for this when we came in because the dining room seemed quite crowded. We didn't have any cocktails during our visit because we were driving. They did look lovely though. We ordered a mocktail and this was beautifully crafted. It wasn't slapped together and was perfectly balanced and had the perfect amount of citrus. Our enchiladas with special sauce was out of this world. The flavor and the quality of the meat. We went back to another location a few days later and it missed the mark. Please come here to this location! Everyone knows what they are doing and you can taste it in the quality of the food and it shows in the service. Limited parking I was happy I arrived at the time that I did. I was able to walk in and be seated immediately. I sat in the corner as I conducted a phone call and ordered the queso with guacamole, beef and pico. This honestly was amazing. I the ordered the steak burrito and beans with rice. I literally was in a food coma as I ate. The only issue I had with this restaurant was some of the photos on the wall gave me the creeps. I'm deathly afraid of snakes and there are multiple photos in an area. So I ate what I could until I felt my skin crawl and paid and left. This was our first time coming here. The restaurant is really cool with a lot of neat decor like hubcaps on the ceiling and pictures of classic cars. We had an amazing waitress, unfortunately I don't remember her name. She was very attentive and friendly. When we ordered she made sure to tell us how much extras were like adding protein to the panchos as well as making sure we would like the toppings. We really like the salsas. We had the appetizer plate and the comida plate. Everything was good and fresh. I highly recommend the cherry limeade Tito's drink. Prices were very reasonable. Our total was around $50 before tip. We had a table full of chaos--4 adults, 5 kids, and a baby--and not once did we have to flag anyone down or wonder if our order got lost in the shuffle. Service was really good. I will say they do a decent job at Tex-Mex. You aren't going to get anything amazing but you will get solid food at a reasonable price. The salsa was a tad too salty but the chips were fresh. The queso was very good a creamy. The Chuychonga was a chicken wrap that was fried but if you dip it in queso it's pretty tasty. My experience at Chuy's was just fine. We arrived after work on a Friday and were able to get a high top table in the bar area immediately. There's also a big patio with a lot of seating, which would be nice in the cooler months. The menu is pretty expansive with a lot of options. I got the chicken fajita soft tacos. The chicken and rice were pretty dry, but some salsa and guac helped. The tortillas were delicious and fresh. We were served complimentary chips (not as fresh as I would like) with a really delicious salsa. Everyone hyped up the creamy jalapeno dip, but I thought it tasted just like ranch. It was still good, but nothing outstanding. Service was just okay. Our server was obviously really busy, so he did not often stop by to check in for things like drink refills. I would recommend going at a slightly less busy time. Parking was a little confusing, but there is a garage with free parking tucked behind the restaurant by the apartment complex. I arrive for a catering order that was supposed to be ready before the restaurant open this morning. Waited outside as the doors were locked and then someone let me in, but then I was quickly met with rudeness and told can't be in the restaurant and I needed to wait outside for the catering order and was ushered out of the building. The amount of rudeness I just received was insane. I'm still waiting and it is past the time the order was supposed to be ready. Got to set up and they also didn't include any serving utensils. We came in as a party of 13 and Gloria was so attentive, accurate, quick and even so accommodating with all of our kids. Today Sunday I went to dine in at Chuys with the intention to have a good time, enjoy the food like most of the time I experienced before but unfortunately it wasn't anything close to it. .We were told there was a long wait list 35-45 minutes the host recommended the patio which I was willing to try but I was not expecting the good number of flies and bees short after the flies appeared.I didn't see fly repellent devices but a small fan with a dying battery. So it's top down so we can enjoy the breeze on the roll to West 7th Street in Fort Worth. This is high noon, so there were sweet seats on the patio. Love the view because I'm a car fanatic. The crust is so buttery with a soft crust like a taco salad bowls crunch. Just super delicious. I got the steak fajita with the queso topping. Ask for extra shredded lettuce so it feels healthier. Our server checked on us several times. Super great service. The tea, um, super light and weak. Truly could have just had water with more body. Truly disappointing. This location is always packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a bit. I tried the chimichanga, and it was pretty good. The meal comes with free chips and salsa, which is always a nice plus. Casey, our server, was incredible from start to finish. In spite of the other multi-party guests she had, her performance was steller. She checked on us the right amount of times without being a bother. The ambiance was conducive to quiet, intimate conversation, and the food was delicious. Last time, the food seemed warmed-over. When I called Chuy''s to say that my food had not arrived, I did not receive an apology. They told me they would give me a $30 refund. I'm still eating here semi-regularly, primarily because it's extremely convenient (walking distance). The best thing I can say about the food is that everything is reliably fresh, and the service is mostly solid. The patio is a bonus. Between the blaring music (why???) and the nearby traffic noise, it's still way, way too loud, but it's so nice to watch folks walking around the neighborhood, and to be able look across at the park, that we just endure it. I'm not the biggest fan of Tex-Mex, but their chicken tortilla soup is excellent, and probably the thing I order the most regularly. Also, the huge steak burrito is pretty good, especially topped with hatch chile, and the vegetable enchiladas are something a bit different, and always tasty. I cannot emphasize enough how very much I still hate their pathetic chips. Shudder. (Luckily, I shouldn't be eating them anyway, so I guess it's a silver lining?) That said, the salsa that comes out with the chips is really good. It doesn't have much kick, but it's fresh and flavorful. Very homestyle.
