Tacos are $3.50 each w flour tortillas (they didn't ask if I wanted corn for my regular non-breakfast tacos). I had a chorizo & egg, barbacoa and chicharron. The barbacoa was outstanding - soft meat with no gristle fat or grease. The other 2 were pretty good as well. The green sauce is solid but I felt the red salsa was better - had a spicy kick though so be advised. Ordered Carne Asada(Steak) for the family. Ordered Tacos, Burritos, & a Torta. The meat was dried and subpar without flavor. Beans tastes as if they were from a can. Rice was ok. Which would have mattered if the price reflected the food ordered. Bit out order with two Tacos plates, one Torta plate, two burritos, three large Horchata's, and a bottled water...$73. if i were to look up "hole in the wall" in a dictionary, i'm sure this place would pop up. When i put this place into my gps, it told me to take some weird residential streets lead me to a place that seemed desolate/run down. There were no cars parked in front, and for a second we thought it was closed. they have tables outside, but i don't think anyone uses them. On the inside, there's 1 or 2 tables. I think people typically pick up to go. i'm torn about this place, since i typically love hole in the walls, but one of the items i got just wasn't worth it. We ended up getting a breakfast burrito, gordita and a 3 taco plate. If i ended up only getting the breakfast burrito, i would have rated this place 4 stars. The breakfast burrito is really good, and i can see why people come here to get breakfast. However, for the 3 taco plate, it was 9 bucks, and it came with rice and beans and a small side of guac. I don't think the taco plate is worth it. i ended up getting al pastor, steak and carnitas. most of the meat were dry in the tacos, and the tacos just felt bare. Not too much going on with it. (you do get to pick between flour or corn tortilla) This place also reminds me of a small mexican market, as they sell other miscellaneous sweets and treats. this place is cash only, which is another reason i gave it three stars. read more

We just had to get out a get a breakfast taco. After 4 unanswered phone calls we were about to give up. Glad we stuck it out. We ordered three bacon and egg breakfast tacos, a mexican coke and a regular coke. We hot both green sauce and red and both were excellent. A true hole in the wall where a pleasant woman takes your order from a kitchen window that faces a small covered area. Limited, but there is open air seating. Cash only for these phenomenal and tasty, yet fairly inexpensive street tacos. There is a depth and complexity to Meli's that are not found elsewhere. I graduated from TCU in 2013 and I lived off Hulen and Vickery at the time. My husband wanted to go find the taco place that we used to go to when I was going to TCU. We hadn't been back, and now we live in the North Fort Worth-Alliance Area. We were SO HAPPY to find it! We were so worried they knocked it down during the whole Chisholm Trail Parkway expansion but THEY DIDN'T and ITS STILL HERE! They added a patio deck that looks so good! I really like this little spot. It's one step above a taco truck. They have some seating outside and on a little patio area, which is a little buggy but still comfortable. Their Barbacoa is to die for and their green salsa is great too. Not a fan of the red, too hot for me. But overall I enjoy this taco spot. First off, CASH ONLY and tacos are $1.75 each now. Gotta love out of the way places. The funny thing, is that this place is not that far off of I-30, but unless you know it's there, you'd never know it's there. Clapboard, particle board scrap metal and faded painted signs let you know that Melis has been around for quite some time. I call it character. I love the menu, just all types of meat on a faded painted sign. I had so many choice between various beef, pork and chicken options. I'm sure all are good. I got barbacoa, chorizo and lengua tacos on corn tortillas and a side of rice and beans. As all street tacos around here, they come with onions and cilantro and a wedge of lime. The chorizo one had tomatoes as well and was actually my favorite of the three. I got the accustomary red and green salsas with the tacos. Both were great. The green was actually hotter. As for the rice and beans..... wow, the refried beans were CREAMY. So good. I don't know, I keep finding more and more taco places. Not sure when I will have the chance to revisit them. They are all inexpensive and all really good. I really haven't had to many bad tacos around here. They all have different varients to them and I've liked them all. Meli's Taqueria is such a hidden gem in Fort Worth! It's located on the side of W Vickery Blvd, quite a distance away from the little taquerias I usually frequent by the Northeast 28th St area. Even though it may seem a bit shabby on the outside and there is no formal seating, the tacos they sling out are more than enough to overshadow their outward appearance. The carnitas, dressed with lettuce and tomato, were tender and juicy. On the other hand, the pastor tacos were served with the traditional diced onions and cilantro and the marinated meat was packed with mouthwatering spices and flavors. If you're ever craving some street tacos on this side of town, Meli's Taqueria makes for a great pit stop for some tasty and affordable eats. read more

Attendant was very sweet, got the order right, and they are fast. Looks pretty dingy on the outside but it was busy, reasonably priced and the food is good. I only got 4 salsas and ordered 7 tacos and when I asked for extra, she told me they are $.25/each. These are definitely some of the better tacos I've had in Fort Worth, but the store bought tortillas keep them from being the best.
