    Al pastor gordita

Cute taqueria on the side of the road with a very authentic atmosphere! I liked the al pastor gordita, but my friends said the tacos were just okay as the tortillas didn't taste fresh. Solid value, but keep in mind they only take cash!!!

if i were to look up "hole in the wall" in a dictionary, i'm sure this place would pop up. When i put this place into my gps, it told me to take some weird residential streets lead me to a place that seemed desolate/run down. There were no cars parked in front, and for a second we thought it was closed. they have tables outside, but i don't think anyone uses them. On the inside, there's 1 or 2 tables. I think people typically pick up to go. i'm torn about this place, since i typically love hole in the walls, but one of the items i got just wasn't worth it. We ended up getting a breakfast burrito, gordita and a 3 taco plate. If i ended up only getting the breakfast burrito, i would have rated this place 4 stars. The breakfast burrito is really good, and i can see why people come here to get breakfast. However, for the 3 taco plate, it was 9 bucks, and it came with rice and beans and a small side of guac. I don't think the taco plate is worth it. i ended up getting al pastor, steak and carnitas. most of the meat were dry in the tacos, and the tacos just felt bare. Not too much going on with it. (you do get to pick between flour or corn tortilla) This place also reminds me of a small mexican market, as they sell other miscellaneous sweets and treats. this place is cash only, which is another reason i gave it three stars.

Great place to be socially distant.

We just had to get out a get a breakfast taco. After 4 unanswered phone calls we were about to give up. Glad we stuck it out. We ordered three bacon and egg breakfast tacos, a mexican coke and a regular coke. We hot both green sauce and red and both were excellent. Husband said red was hot as he finished what was left in his solo cup. Eggs are fluffy, bacon is crisp and tortillas are homemade. A must try!

A true hole in the wall where a pleasant woman takes your order from a kitchen window that faces a small covered area. Limited, but there is open air seating. Cash only for these phenomenal and tasty, yet fairly inexpensive street tacos. There is a depth and complexity to Meli's that are not found elsewhere. I expect there is some secret family recipe that she has perfected over time -- the herbs and spices bring out the best.

I always love coming to this place. You literally walk up to the window on a back porch, order, pay cash, and walk way with the best "street" tacos around. YOU KNOW WHAT'S UP when the staff and majority of customers only speak Spanish and the place only accepts cash: EXCELLENT TACOS

Full of flavor, good size. Egg, chorizo, papas, beans, bacon.. Glad I found a place close that has excellent breakfast burritos.

What is not to love? As we're celebrating our 55th anniversary this month we were presented with a lovely, complementary sparkly rose. As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

Servers provided a great experience aside from a bunch of flies (ate outside on the patio and were waving at flys most of the night). Three stars for the prices. We are an entirely vegetarian meal with no alcohol and paid $400 for a party of six...and we were sharing (yes, you read that correctly). $13 for a side of Mexican rice. $18 for essentially a side mashed potatoes. $16 for grilled vegetables. And the portions were SMALL. We were sharing across four adults and three kids and everyone only ended up getting a tiny amount. It was really difficult believing we were receiving any real value...it felt like the Don and figured out how to have unsuspecting guests pay double! It to say this isn't a legit high-end Mexican restaurant, it is. But I would more realistically describe it as a high-end steak house with wrap-around Mexican dishes (which explains why the side prices were so extreme). Kids quesadillas with steak were $17 a piece with no sides other than potato chips (a little odd given the context). Anyway, I'll end it where I began...food was good, servers were great...but just not worth the price. If the bill had been half or the portions were larger, it would have felt like we were actually getting value for our money.

I ordered take out and sat at the bar while I waited for my entree.Ordered two drinks while I waited, got the one at the top of the menu and a skinny margarita and they tasted exactly the same ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they got the job done and were fine. Food: I got the enchiladas three ways with steak. You can take the regular three sauces or choose just one if you'd like. Green sauce is the best, white sauce is pretty good, and the red mole is fine but I wish I would have swapped it out with the spicy almost (orange) sauce that comes with the seafood enchiladas. That sauce looks so good! My partner did not like the red sauce at all, again I thought it was fine just not amazing like the other two. Beans and rice are good, nothing special. Nothing wrong with the chips and salsa just run of the mill. Other thoughts: I wish I had just ate my food at the bar instead of ordering take out. Bar seats are comfortable, views of a tv for anyone sitting at the bar, and it's just a nice comfortable atmosphere in there. The hostess and bar tenders I interacted with provided great service.

They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
