Everything was delicious. Service as usual was amazing. Their salsa is prepared fresh daily and is loaded with onions and cilantro...my favorite. Their hot salsa is HOT and SPICY! Chips...light and crispy. Fresh. Their queso was exceptionally good today. (Is that even possible). We thoroughly enjoyed it. Came in here on a Friday evening and was quoted about a 15-20 minute wait. I didn't realize that there were many HS graduations going on, so our wait was about 35 minutes , but no big deal. The service here is very good and the food was pretty damn good as well. I am not a fan of Texas Mexican food (Tex-Mex) but the carne asada plate was delish! Honestly an abysmal experience. Not a single person in this restaurant could tell me what menu items contained gluten. My server looked at me like she'd never heard the word before and fetched someone else, who told me they use butter on the meat so it's not gluten free. Absolutely incredible ignorance. My husband tried calling to ask and after ten minutes on hold, someone told him "everything contains wheat." Idk how you run a restaurant and don't know your own ingredients. read more

The restaurant was not busy so there was plenty of sitting yet all that came in were seated close together. Would have liked a little space for privacy. I noted their beautiful Mexican pots with fabulous plants around the establishment. We were seated and waited on quickly....ordered margaritas, which was a little bit difficult, because I don't understand Spanish and it seemed our waitress knew little English or we just could not understand her. This was frustrating, can you imagine how long it took us to order the meal. Once done when the chicken & steak fajitas came out fresh and sizzling. Chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly where the steak was tough & bland. The wrong beans were brought, but OH Well, no big deal They have a variety of dishes to select from. My favorite local Mexican restaurant! Such a fantastic find. I went here for lunch with a friend and enjoyed delicious chicken flautas. I requested to sub out the rice and beans for grilled vegetables and they brought me a huge bowl of delicious roasted veg. Our server Alex was wonderful and the atmosphere was such fun. This place is always consistent. Fajitas for 2 is well worth the money. It's a huge pile of meat. I'd come 30 minutes earlier than you'd normally plan if you are coming for dinner on the weekend. Time to celebrate another birthday! My sister turned 50 yesterday so, we headed to the usual, Los Molcajetes. It was crowded around 7:00pm, with people waiting outside for a table. There must be a gym close by because , I saw few guys in work out gear. There was a small wait time for our table. We didn't mind. Chips and Salsa had the same consistent taste. Loved the spicier Hot Sauce. There was a bit of a wait for our drinks. I chose the Carne Asada Tacos. The Beef had been marinated, grilled and chopped into tiny pieces with lots of fresh chopped Cilantro on the side. I was expecting a small portion but, it was like two spoons of Carne Asada for each Taco! The Tortillas were soft and flavorful . It was like an upgrade from Rosa's Tortillas. There's was like four birthdays going on. The very first Happy Birthday Song scared the crap out of us! We were all startled. Lol If you have a party of seven. The tip will be included on your receipt. As you can see it was a joyous time. It was worth the drive. I'll probably be back in two months. Lol. read more

Los Mmolcajetes has went downhill. We had the fajitas for two. The portion size was not for two. The chicken was cold and bland absolutely no sizzle or searing. The sour cream and cheese is an extra charge. The refried beans looked like they were leftover from yesterday. The charo beans would have been better if they had been heated after they were poured out of the can. Then there's the price of it all 40.00 +tip. A total disappointment. Absolutely terrible experience at Los Molcajetes. We checked in as a party of 5 and were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes, which sounded reasonable, so we decided to stay. That turned into a huge mistake. As we waited, we watched multiple larger parties--groups of 6, 8, and even bigger--get seated before us. At first, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they had been waiting longer. But when we checked our place on the waitlist, it showed we were second in line. We even saw people who arrived after us get seated with no wait time. By the time we hit the one-hour mark, we were frustrated and confused, so we asked to speak to a manager. Instead of showing any concern, he was completely dismissive. He told us they have separate waitlists for large and small parties--as if that somehow justified giving us a completely inaccurate wait time. If we had known it would actually take over an hour, we never would have stayed, especially with hungry kids. To make matters worse, there was zero apology, no effort to make things right, and not even a basic acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Just rude, unprofessional behavior and a clear lack of care for customers. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a restaurant. Completely unacceptable. They lost a customer for good. It was not busy when we arrived. We were not the only family waiting an hour while bigger parties were being seated before us. Wow I was taken away by the amount of people dining in on a Tuesday night when I entered! Reviewers on Yelp rated this place highly and let me say it did not disappoint! My friend and I got seated quickly and were served chips and salsa to keep us munching while we waited for our meals. The salsa tasted quite fresh and loved the amount of cilantro in it. We also got a side order of guac which was super fresh but needed more salt which we added. I went with the chicken fajita enchiladas which had fajita chicken on top of 3 cheese enchiladas and side of rice and beans. The meal was a lot of food but also munching on chips made it hard for me to finish it. As for the taste, the chicken was seasoned nicely and enchilada sauce was quite tasty. The rice and beans were also pretty good and were a good size. There's a big size parking lot outside and a good amount of seating inside. First time here, was highly recommended by family. Got here at 4:30 on a Saturday and they had a wait list of folks. We sat at the bar (open) and had a house margarita. Good flavor and not overly sweet. They have a fair variety of tequila but no mezcal (in case you're interested). The salsa is rather watery but good flavor. The spicy salsa is good, too hot for me but ok in moderation for hubby (and he likes hot). We mixed them but was not a fan of the mix either. Chips are medium texture-- not thin or thick. We had the beef Tampico which is chopped (diced, tender, flavorful) steak that is mixed with onions, jalapeños, pinto beans, tomatoes and then covered with cheese. It's served in a flour tortilla shell (like a taco salad shell). Comes with a side of pico, shredded lettuce, and avocado. My husband and I spilt this and it was enough for both of us.
