    Buffalo wings
    Daniel B.

Ordered last night for Passover with a non-Jewish friend. After warning her about the limits of kosher for Passover food relative to year-round, she looked at me like I was crazy after biting into her sandwich from Holy Schnitzel. I will say, hands down, the best Passover take out I've ever had. The brisket fries were out of bounds, the wings were delicious, and the two sandwiches we had were both spectacular and flavorful. She even ranks the garlic mayo as one of her favorite sauces of all time, and insisted we come back here after Pesach so she can see how incredible it would be with regular bread and less limitations. Very very pleased and looking forward to making this a new Passover tradition!

    You can do better?

Incredible , little concern for quality , especially when the boss is gone. Who's in charge? Burnt French fries Very greasy sandwich

    Fries and schnitzy baguette

Delicious food that is always fresh. Juicy chicken, good sauces. Workers are helpful. The theme is nice, you can tell they put effort into it. They have a bathroom. The restaurant is nice and clean.

Really liked it here. Tried it out with my husband for lunch a few weeks ago. Right off the bat. I like that it was a huge place. Plenty of space for friends and family to grab a bite. We went with lunch specials. I got a burger with bacon and regular fries. My husband got their Buffalo wings. Food was made pretty quick. Even if it took a long time they have tv on to watch news or watever. Burger was great cooked just right not dry or anything. Fries were good too not greasy or the frozen kind. My one complaint was that the guy put too much mayo. My husband loved his wings and I tried one. They were great loved the sauce. Just sort of small, I mean the size of the actual wings not the portion. That was pretty generous. I won't hold it against them probably just what they had that week. My husband was there before and said was bigger. Overall, worth a try. Head up for yelpers, I checked in and received a free cookie! Always nice to get something. And was actually pretty good. I am sorry to see there were a few bad reviews here. But I had a good experience.

I just tried the avocado chicken salad.. it was a very thin filet of chicken breast cut up into like 12 pieces. A tablespoon of guacamole and pretty much 90% of the salad was romaine lettuce filled to the top of the bowl. Almost $18. For something that should not be more than $8 not only am I upset and feel hungry but who can possibly eat so much lettuce? Is spinach, chickpeas, Beans, carrots hard to come by these days?

$21 for dry meal with hair in it

The gorgeous, ancient building, Fillmores for close to 50 years now but home to a bar for many years prior to that, is perennially packed with a cross section of local regulars representing many eras of the neighborhoods varied history and populations, from old school working class joes in Union Jackets and hardhats to more recent immigrants from every corner of the world befitting it's location smack in the center of the worlds borough. They're all most definitely having a great time, soaking up the fantastic atmosphere and character and being served by seasoned pros with a level of old school care and camaraderie, and focus on loyalty to the regulars that is also sadly rapidly fading away (how many other places in this town still know the meaning of the words "buy back?") Where the place really sets itself apart from all the other local watering holes however charming they might be on their own right however, is the food. Its lives up to the original designation of a tavern as a place that places a priority on the cuisine, and indeed the offerings rise far far above the bar-food norm. This is the type of spot that not only serves one of the great, deeply satisfying under-the radar burgers, non nonsense but deeply meaty uniquely presented on a long hero-type roll, but also one of the best, and cheapest NY Strips in town and a killer prime rib special. Also has some of the most reliably crispy wings, even if the propriety house sauce is just a tad sweet for my tastes, and a rotating list of delicious house made soups (particularly a marvelous lobster bisque) that can be paired with said wings or most other options as part of the wonderful lunch specials. I've heard many other patrons praise the grilled chicken wrap but have never had the chance to give it a try as of yet. I'll have many more chances because I plan on continuing to visit the place often for years to come, and here's to hoping that this place remains a constant in the ever changing borough as it's miraculously been able to all these many many years.

I'd seen it on Yelp for quite a while, and the food in the photos looked really promising. Unfortunately, when we pulled up and saw the location, I had a feeling it wasn't going to live up to my expectations. I was hungry enough that I decided to give it a chance anyway. If you're coming strictly for the food, I'd probably skip it. But if you're looking for a casual spot to relax with a beer and grab a bite, it does the job. Although the meal wasn't what I had hoped for, I do think the kitchen made the best of the ingredients they had. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the meat was, even though it clearly wasn't an expensive cut. I ordered the French onion soup, which lacked depth of flavor, had very few onions, and the bread was really soggy. My Caesar salad, on the other hand, was dressed and tossed perfectly, but the dressing tasted like it came straight from a bottle. If they made their own dressing, or even used a higher-quality one, it could have been an excellent salad. Our server was friendly and attentive, though she didn't seem very familiar with food terminology. I asked whether the onion rings were made fresh or frozen, and she replied, "They always taste fresh when I've had them." That pretty much answered my question, I'm guessing they were frozen. Overall, it wasn't a satisfying meal for me. Then again, I came for the food. If your goal is simply to unwind with a drink and some casual bar food, you'll probably have a much better experience than I did.

The burger meat tasted a bit like a hot dog sausage, which might have to do the burger blend. They only serve vegan cheese as the cheese option here, but on a hot burger it tastes just like a salty melted American cheese. The fries were pretty standard like the ones with halal chicken over rice. I appreciate the multiple easy-to-use ordering kiosks with touch screen. There is limited seating inside, as it has a smaller footprint. This was a decent burger spot but I probably wouldn't return due to the high prices.

The burgers I've had were just chicken tenders stuffed between two buns. My dream of trying a proper burger was fulfilled at this store. The beef patty was juicy, flavorful, and went so well with the cheese and vegetables. The buns were smooth and fresh. We also tried the mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, chicken over rice, and loaded fries. I loved loved loved the boneless wings. It was tender, spicy, saucy, and so flavorful. It was fresh and very well made. As someone who has tried chicken over rice from over 10 different places, I wasn't a big fan of the chicken over rice from here. But I definitely do think that everything else from here is worth a shot. My sister's personal favorite was the loaded fries. The fries were crispy, the meat on top was well seasoned, the onions, cheese, and sauce made everything delicious. Each bite was heavenly. The mozzarella sticks were really good too!! Man, you know what, everything was good. And now I'm craving this again. Oh yes, I forgot to mention the interior, location, and service. The inside of the restaurant is very beautiful, the dark wood tables and chairs and the ambient lighting made everything vintage, retro, and aesthetic. The staff were nice, friendly, and very chill.
