I wouldn't recommend Holyrood Cemetery to anyone. At every step of the burial process there has been some level of confusion, disorganization, or plain stupidity from the administration. Dad has been in an unmarked grave for over a month and a half. Not even a temporary placard while the headstone is shipped in. Mike Betts wants us to think it's the funeral home that's responsible for placing a temporary placard, which isn't true. The headstone was made in advance, it's been sitting in a warehouse since the 1980s. Mike Betts can't remember our recent meeting when he ordered the delivery, and has no shipping data at all. We got a check in the mail because we were overcharged on their services. The check was written payable to my Dad. Wouldn't the cemetery know he is dead and he can't cash checks??? Now it's another errand to fix their latest screw up. As a grieving family, we thought Holyrood cemetery was going to handle Dad's burial arrangements with grace and precision. We are disappointed. We had to call again to ask about the headstone delivery and the gentleman who answered the phone was so confused about their record keeping system, and he asked how to spell my Dad's name three times! My daddy is buried here. It's nice and clean. The mass is always so nice. But we brought sentimental things that we decorated daddy grave and they took it away they threw it away. They never told is we bought those Items. Sad! read more

I came to Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in August 2018 to visit David Ishkanov's gravesite with my mom. I went to elementary school, middle school, and high school with him and worked with him at the Dale Turner Family YMCA. We were good friends in the early years then grew apart a bit as we got older and I eventually moved away. My mom later interacted with him at the YMCA as well. We were not certain where his gravesite was located so we went to the main building to ask where it was located. The worker who helped us was friendly and gave us clear directions to his gravesite. We got back in the car and drove to it, easily finding the swath of flowers around the grave. His family had not been able to afford a headstone at that time so a picture of him was included at the site. Good to be able to visit his grave and reminisce about times past. May David Ishkanov be resting in peace. The cemetery itself was well maintained and access to the gravesite was straightforward and on even ground. Nice sculpture ornamentation throughout and great signage from the road, making it easy to spot the cemetery from the car. read more

I had 5 minutes to get out of the cemetery before he was going to call. A mentor and a friend, he wanted to discuss who would be a good person to finish his community project, just in case the cancer took him. There was no way I was going to take his call at Holyrood, where I was visiting my dad on the anniversary of his passing, due to cancer. The entire staff, from the memorial service director to the gravediggers, treats the unfortunate nature of their business with the empathy and solemnity it deserves. read more

My cousin's wife was recently laid to rest here in Our Lady of Antipolo, one of the immigrant communities sections. And though it's hard to say goodbye to loved ones, I cannot but admit that this cemetery has an awesome view of Lake Ballinger. read more

The customer service is horrible after you've paid. Cathy was condescending and rude, I complained to Albert requesting not to deal with her anymore. Then after a month of waiting receiving no feedback I get an email, from Cathy. Several errors, from Epitaph, to the correct name in proof. Now a Linda enters in the email trail and states she doesn't understand what a SUBJECT LINE is!!! I am beyond furious, I believe they are all there laughing, thinking this is a joke. I feel horrible about how I have been treated! Please, do not use them. This experience has made a sorrowful situation worst. I want to remove my mothers remains from there! read more

The grounds are beautiful here and well maintained. All the staff we interacted with were really supportive and professional. The location is also easy to access for visitation. read more

Is HOLYROOD CEMETERY CATHOLIC???. I just lost my 6 months old son and 9 weeks miscarried baby 4 months ago and They were buried in HOLYROOD CEMETERY. Since I made a payment of 1375 for a mark stone, Rhys told me about 1 month it will be done. Now it has been 3 months, Cathy, sent to me the picture of their mark stone 3 weeks ago to get approval from me and I approved. Now, I call her and she said SORRY and told me to call back 3 weeks later to get an update. Her sorry made me feel so disrespected. I lost my babies and I paid for whatever I can for them after they died to make them rest in peace as their Mom. I don't ask or beg anyone in the cemetery to give to me for free. So, please put yourself in my shoes. You can think I'm poor and don't care for poor people like me, but even though we are poor,we still have our self-respect and kindness and we don't owe you anything. it becomes cold and will be rainy, I just don't want my babies to stay there and get cold, and the visitors can put the steps on them because it has no identity marker. If you had a cold heart, it is still ok for me, I just want to be fair. Both sides agreed with the deal, I already paid for it, why do you keep my money and don't do anything in a long time? read more

I have a family member here and its beautiful peaceful grounds are always kept very manicured.

Some of my family are here at Holy Rood cemetery. It is a lovely site and I have found the staff extremely helpful and nothing is a bother or troublesome for them. It all comes with a price but it's comparable with other cemeteries. We had one ceremony on grounds but otherwise we have used outside crematoriums and it seems fine with the staff. They will provide whatever you need but no push for more services. I appreciate the help and kindness that Rhys brought to a difficult time of decision making for my elderly mother. read more

Holyrood, where to start? Nice grounds, people in general but that's where it stops. They're so interested in gauging current and potential future payees to bury them, they ought to redesign their gates to be of gold dollar signs. Compassion is lost on us on the visits we've had on behalf of family, when settling a final payment for a recently passed relative, 'Cathy' pitched buying and settling our affairs no less than 3x in the half hour visit and then called not even a week later after the service to do it again. What nerve. Another thing is that some years back, I was asked to choose a headstone for family to be etched and laid at the cemetery. When Holyrood got wind that I had used another vendor outside of their pricey offerings, they banned them from participating without first going through the front office so they could up-charge, i.e. shakedown the grieving families. Shameful. Another thing, stone cutters have equipment that allows them to etch the stone on site with minimal disturbance or delay but with Holyrood, that won't do, they up-charge the payee by telling them the headstone must be lifted out, sent out for etching and then reinstalled, taking 6-8 weeks basically a make work project. What a rip off. It seems like sacrilege, that they are those that were the money changers in the temple that Jesus overturned their tables. Don't be caught dead at Holyrood because if you are, it's where your wallet was drained in the name of 'compassion'. read more

Holyrood indeed. (Should have known better since RUDE is already in the name.) If it were possible to give negative stars I would. My parents were harangued into buying a crypt over a decade ago by Dave Watson before the mausoleum was built. And were told that their crypt would be in one area and instead the actual area where my mother's remains will be placed is not what was sold to my parents. Mark Simard the manager came in, for no apparent reason, as he had solutions that were neither equivalent nor acceptable. He tried to explain to us that the level of the crypts that my parents thought they were purchasing were already sold. RIGHT, to my parents 15yrs ago!!! He stated, "We're not trying to pull the old switch and bait here." Irony, since that is in fact what happened to my poor parents. He then goes on to bad-mouth Calvary Cemetery stating that we would get the same treatment, if not worse there. If you already have a plot/crypt there, I recommend that you check the location again and perhaps map it out explicitly. If you haven't and really want to help your family in this trying time, go anywhere else but here. It was a truly horrifying experience to be mourning a beloved family member who thought that she was carefully planning for the end only to find that she had been lied to by a cemetery of all places. I guess they thought that she wouldn't notice since she was already dead. This place is the worst. read more
