Our sales person, Ann Lohela, could not have been nicer or more knowledgeable. My problem is that there was a table & 6 chairs on display in the clearance room with a price card of $699. When we went to purchase it, we were told that was the price of the table with 4 chairs & with 6 chairs it would be $899 !!! Talk about "FALSE ADVERTISING". When we got to the financing, we were told that something bought in the "clearance section" had to be paid off within 12 months-----why is there NOT a sign up in that section that states that so you know before you go in there??? I bought a power recliner from the Coon Rapids location. Got it home, it is making liking a glancing noise when I'm reeling it. I had someone come out and look at it. He said that was normal and there wasn't anything wrong with it. I just had major back surgery and can't even use the chair. The initial experience was good. My wife found the electronic rocker/recliner she wanted, and we understood the delivery delay due to COVID supply chain issues. Less than a year of having the chair a wire broke. I called for a warranty repair and was told it would take close to 2 months to get the chair repaired. They offered to send me the part to repair it myself, and I was fine with that. I was sent the wrong part twice. Hom furniture offered to replace the chair and I received a 2 hour delivery window two days later. I received a call an hour and forty five minutes into the delivery window and was told it was still an hour away. I enjoyed shopping at Hom Furniture, however, this experience has me thinking of looking elsewhere. read more

Two male Caucasian came to my house with dirty shoes, I told them to wait at the entrance while I am disassemble the bed....they came in without my approval straight to my bedroom. Myself and my wife were surprised!!! I told them to go downstairs, they continue hanging around my bedroom with dirty shoes. So I love HOM furniture for their beautiful furniture and helpful sales representatives, however; dealing with their scheduling department absolutely sucks. Do you need a warranty repair, happy to help you, just don't ask us to work with you on scheduling. So hey I'm used to businesses that at the time you schedule service giving you a four hour window, HOM's sales folks let us know their windows are only 2 hours. Wow! fantastic. So at the time you schedule though you are only able to select a date, you can't even give them a preference for morning or afternoon. Instead you are told we will contact you 1-2 days in advance to schedule the time. Would you think that implies that you as the customer have some input into that time? Most people would, but no not with these guys. They give you an automated call that says this is when we will be there. Of course, they have to schedule to overlap with the one time slot I have a can't miss meeting. So I call back to see if I can get the time changed - 20 minutes of hold time, call transferred to corporate to a message that states that I'm not calling during business hours (oh wait but I'm calling during the hours stated on the recording. Dial again another 20 minute hold - only to be told well "gosh we are better than so many, we give a two hour time slot." Hey guys you are not better if you can't give a less than full day window when I call to schedule. That actually makes you worse, because what you are really saying is "we expect you to hold the whole day open until 1-2 days before the service, then we'll give you a time slot that fits our schedule." Also, when you say that you will contact to schedule, that implies a collaboration not a dictation. So now, I'm waiting to hear back as to whether they will change the time or whether I have to reschedule for a different day. After 4 hours they didn't get back to me. So, I called back. Hung up on after 23 minute hold after a customer service agent had answered and asked me to hold for a moment while she checked into it. Called back again so after another 10 minute hold, I am informed - oh yes I see your call was disconnected, but gosh we can't give you any answers still, because we haven't heard back from the routing department that handles that. Then a promise that they will call me when they hear back, but no indication of when that might be. And it gets better, so day two - so the technician is supposed to be here tomorrow. Still no phone call back confirming that they've accepted the time change. I call and this time yay, hold time is short. I ask to speak to a supervisor. Supervisor proceeds with the, well we have no control, our routing department is VERY busy. Also she "sees" that I spoke with one rep yesterday and gosh she is so sorry but that rep is out today AND oh gosh routing still has not responded. I explain to her that no, I wound up speaking to 3 reps, it has been nearly 24 hours since my first call and I ask when I can expect to hear back from them. Well she can't give me a time, but she will get back to me before she leaves tonight at 7. I also ask to please be put through to whomever I can file a complaint about the process. Imagine, oh she can't put me through to anyone. She can send an e-mail to an unidentified manager, but she cannot promise that they will reach out to me today. I tell her I am not looking for them to call me today that I want a response from someone within the week so that I can give them direct feedback on their process. read more

We shopped the Coon Rapids location, and our intentions were to purchase over $5,000 worth of furniture. The store had special "Free" delivery. However, it didn't include bring the furniture into the house. If you wanted that service is was $175. I asked to speak to the manager and he stated that he never offers free delivery of furniture that has to delivered into the house. I said that Costco offers the white glove service for no charge. The manager said, "Costco is not a competitor of HOM and we will never give free deliver into the house." Lets see, a competitor is some organization that sells like products. Long story short, HOM furniture manager is just ignorant. Save yourself the hassle and shop Costco. They offer free delivery. read more

Don't get your furniture delivered to this location... I had ordered some items and eventually they were on back order and therefore had them delivered to the Coon rapids location. They are actually very very slow when I came to pick it up. They said 10-15 min. It took 20 min. Go to the little Canada store or the Plymouth location. Just stopped by as a friend wanted to be apart of their drawing. Naturally I am looking as I need to replace items in my sunporch. The first older lady who said she was a "designer" was super pushy, to the point where I had to laugh, say thank you and walk away! The second lady on the upper level was nice, hence the 3 stars as she kind of redeemed them. Super personable and not so pushy! I actually took a quote with her and stated if hubby is willing we will be back. I won't be dealing with the "pushy lady." The had refreshments which were nice in appearance, I had a few grapes. Our experience at Hom was excellent with Nate our Salesman. However, The customer pick up was the worst experience ever! The 2 men working were beyond RUDE!! They did not acknowledge us nor make any attempt to. I had to ask if they could help us. We purchased several large heavy items and they did not even attempt to help my husband and I load them into our truck and trailer. Very disappointed! They are not very good at following up. I bought a bedroom set and couple days later they delivered it. The bedroom set had two broken draws and the headboard didn't have hardware to it. So the delivery drive still but the bedroom set up and told me someone would call me the next day. Two days later no call and I drove up there to Hom to find out what was going on. They told me it would take a week for a new replacement of the whole bedroom set. That didn't happen. They replaced what was broken and they still forgot the hardware to the new headboard. When all was said and done they had to come out three times for this bedroom set. read more

The boyfriend was in the market for some new furniture - a couch and recliner, specifically. We searched far and wide, and eventually settled on a couple of pieces he liked at HOM furniture for the final purchase. HOM, like many furniture stores, is a giant warehouse full of mini living rooms and bedrooms, so you can get an idea of what the pieces might look like in your (hopefully less crowded) home. There are always plenty of staff members milling about, who are friendly and helpful, and generally skirt the line between available and pushy with finesse. After our hunt for the perfect couch and chair, it was decided that HOM had a reasonable price point, and the pieces he wanted in stock. In stock is always a bonus. They didn't have the recliner out on the showroom floor, but were kind enough to let us go have a look at it in the warehouse. A couple of weeks after the purchase, HOM sent out a flier for $100 off a furniture purchase, so we called up the sales rep, and got the $100 back - they offer a price guarantee for a certain period of time (21 or 30 days, can't remember) after your purchase, which is rad. It was instantly honored, no forms to fill out or waiting period for a check to be cut. Also, they have cookies in their showroom. I kid you not, there is a sales associate whose job is to keep the cookies and milk stocked . And they aren't just any cookies - they are freshly baked. How incredibly smart. Way to go, HOM. We ordered new furniture for our house in MN. We currently live in CA and are only back a few months out of the year. From start to finish HOM Furniture did an outstanding job. All of our questions were answered promptly (we had a lot of questions regarding sizes, delivery, warranties, etc.) We had talked with Katelyn and Olivia who were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Came here to buy a sectional we were set on but the sales associate Padma talked us out of it. She seemed nice but disingenuous. Sorry that we came in our sweats and looked like we couldn't afford a $3000 sectional. The fact that she assumed we wanted 12 month financing before we even said anything was pretty rude. She then PUSHED and ENCOURAGED us not to buy from the store but to purchase and apply for financing online. We felt awkward because we were ready to buy right now but the disrespectful comments turned us away. I will never buy from this lady but I guess that's what she wanted so that's what she got. Do NOT believe they will even hit their late delivery time. It has been 2 months, and they have missed 2 delivery deadlines they themselves imposed. We were told we were waiting on 1 piece of our sectional a month ago, and it should arrive by last week. They even tried snaking someone else's delivery when we called to follow up. When I was leaving, the person at the front door didn't acknowledge me, I had to approach him to ask a question and he was doing something on his cell phone the entire time I was talking with him. I had a very pleasant experience with Home Furniture! From the sales Person To Delivery People! Love My New Recliner!

On a positive note, Phil Woldstad, was perhaps the most informative, friendly, and helpful sales person I have had the pleasure of working with. He works in the mattress department, and I would vouch for him strongly. Too bad he is tied down to this company. Now to the reason for this less than 1 star review.. My family drove about 2 hours to the Coon Rapids location on Friday afternoon, where HOM furniture has their warehouse to purchase and pick-up (same day) a table that we had previously seen in another location. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted (which was your standard version of name, number, what brings you here today) and then proceeded to be, very closely, followed around the store while we were trying to locate the table. Once we located the table upstairs, we spent about 90 minutes discussing the details of this particular table (where it's made, material, weight, dimensions, etc.) as well as, placing various dining chairs near this table to see if any others would match the color and grain of the oak. Long story short, we were ready to purchase and our sales associate "Padma" took our information, which was followed up with "wow, this is a really great price for this table, your total will be (roughly) $815; you can take care of the payment down at guest services, and then pick the table up around back". We were initially really happy with this, as it was about $250 less than what was shown online. After paying for the table in full, I was looking over the invoice as my family and I were pulling around to the loading dock, when I noticed that the name listed wasn't what I recalled from our earlier research. So, luckily, I went back into guest services to inquire and confirm the table that I was charged out for was accurate. Of course, it was not, and after about 5 minutes of trying to get their internet to process and figure out the table that I actually intended to buy, they said "Oh wow, that is a significant difference. After applying your balance paid, your new total will be $305." No apology, no offer of a courtesy, nothing. At this point, it wasn't about the money, as we had initially planned on spending what was quoted online, it was about SERVICE & HOSPITALITY. I had offered to split the difference with them, since it was their mistake, but people do make mistakes. They were unwilling to budge. I then made a further case, and after a few back and fourths, they came down $100. The manager "Tiana" didn't even come out of her office to talk to me, she had her guest service attendant tell me "This is the absolute furthest she is willing to move". If I, as the customer, had not noticed this discrepancy, we would have drove 2 hours back home only to find out the table we purchased was inaccurate. Then, at the end of all this, "Padma" comes over and says "Oh, there are two artisan tables?" and laughs. How inappropriate and juvenile. To make matters worse, my husband called to talk to the manager "Tiana", as he was displeased with the service and she quoted "My associate gave you a much better deal than I even would have, you should be happy". Again, how inappropriate. After we got the table home, and put together, we noticed that the 2 included leaves had large marks engraved into the top side of them from ripped packaging. Now, they won't even exchange our table leaves, we have to have the entire dis-assembled. Clearly, this business does not understand that you have a better opportunity to create customer loyalty from how you handle a unfavorable experience. read more

Bad business, worse follow-up. Two and a half years ago I bought a couch from HOM. It turned out to be very poorly constructed, but hey, what do I expect from an $800 cloth couch -- craftsmanship? Well, never mind that, the experience taught me not to shop here. The issue now is getting off their junk mail list. When I bought the couch, I made it clear I didn't want any junk mail, special offers, or any of the usual crap. "Oh no," I was assured, we'll put you on the do-not-mail list." Uh-huh. They've been sending this junk on a regular basis. I've called, written, even gone to the store and talked to the manager, and every time I've been assured that my name and address have been TAKEN OUT OF THEIR DATABASE, COMPLETELY. And then the next junk flyer or catalog arrives. At present, I've been on hold for 25 minutes waiting for a manager who "is right here, just a second" but obviously just doesn't feel like answering the phone. Ah well, off to write to the Better Business Bureau, which DOES handle this kind of situation. read more

We purchased a simple side board. Cabinet with two doors and one shelf. This item arrived "new" with the top so warped the doors wouldn't close. Scratches on the inside of the cabinet from wear, gouges around one hinge, and poorly repaired gouges in the side of the cabinet. Then there were the nail pops. For this we were supposed to pay $350. Run, don't walk away from these guys. High pressure over attentive staff to boot. read more

Funiture is boxed and build at home. I got it home no hardware or instructions to put it together. When I called they told me I'd have them the next day. The next day I call they don't them and don't know when they will get them. 2 floor models not one person willing to be inconvenienced for better customer service. I'll never go back. Terrible customer service, no quality control... bought a dining room set and two barstools one of the stools leg was cracked the other one chipped they exchange them with completely different material on the cushions I called right away to ask them for my old cushions so that all six chairs match it took them days to get back to me when they did they set up an appointment they came and bring The wrong chairs then set up another appointment bring the chairs and the cushions did not match the other four chairs I calledright away to ask them for my old cushions this is three weeks now set up another appointment they came with the same cushions that I was exchanging , even the technician could see that they didn't match I called she insisted they were my old cushions which they clearly are not... read more

If you plan on getting good furniture in a timely manner with good customer service, STAY AWAY FROM HOM FURNITURE!!! My wife and I ordered $4,000 in custom living room furniture at the end of February 2016 and was promised by the sales rep to have it in 6-8 wks. After 12 weeks I called them up to find out about the status of our order, only to find out it had been in their warehouse for 3 days - they didn't bother to call me to schedule a delivery! When I finally scheduled a delivery, the ottoman was the wrong color and not what we ordered! The delivery personnel were nice and said some one should be calling me immediately to rectify this. I waited 3 hours, no call. I had to call them and spoke with Dustin Behr - what a gem he is! He told me I should not be angry, and that he would not help me if I was going to be angry. No apology from; only excuses. Dustin told mehe would get back with me that day - he left a message 6 hours later. When he finally got a hold of me, he said that the ottoman would be ready in July!!!! He said that he would call me later if he could get this arranged any earlier. Unbelievable! I wonder if Greg Bailey, HOM store director, or Ralph Kloiber, HOM's Director of Furniture, would have to wait until July if an order was screwed up with them!!! Hey HOM, I was planning on purchasing new family room furniture worth about $5,000 this summer - I seriously doubt I will be gracing your store for this purchase after my horrible experience with you. Just a little warning to those making purchases from HOM Furniture: I made a purchase of over $3k for my living room. The day I received my furniture and accessories (Friday), I went back to HOM Furniture to return 4 accessories that were too large for my living room. The return was over $1k. I am still waiting for those funds to show up in my account. When I called Customer Service on Wednesday of this week, they indicated that the funds had been transferred to my account on Tuesday of this week. I called my bank on Thursday and was told there was no such transaction. I called HOM Furniture again on Thursday to find out what the deal was and was told that it could take 7-10 business days for funds to show up. When I make a return elsewhere, funds show up within 2 business days. Why does HOM take so long to return funds? They have their product . . . 2 business days should be sufficient for those funds to show up in my account. This is a bit ridiculous and will make me think twice about making another purchase at HOM Furniture. read more

We were out shopping on 5/27 and we wanted to try out massage chairs, the fancy ones that are pretty spendy. We stopped in at the tent sale and talked to Craig out there. He was awesome, positive, very helpful and informative. He was not pushy at all. He said to go inside and see if there are any massage chairs at the clearance center. We were greeted right away by a lady at the door, I think her name was Pam. She brought us upstairs and pointed at the only one they had. She just said this is it, didn't offer any information or even encourage us to sit in it. She pointed at the stairs into patio and described where the clearance center was. There were two ladies working there at the computers and they didn't say anything to us as we went by. We didn't find any massage chairs there, so we walked back and asked a blonde lady and she just pointed and said there were two behind the wall with fire extinguishers. Still didn't find anything so we asked her again, and she walked with us the third time. She said they must have sold, and we asked if any of the other stores still had them, and she pretty much tried to get around our question. My fiancé was very frustrated with her and her lack of help. She did not offer to help us find others at other HOM locations and didn't want to answer our questions. She finally went to the computer once we asked her again to check other locations unless it was too much of a hassle for her. After she looked at one of the two, I ended up calling the other locations myself. I thought these sales people worked commission? Do you not want to make a sale? We obviously do not want pushy sales people, but they didn't even want to try, or is it because we didn't look like we could afford anything so we weren't worth the time?
