We were given vague explanations and minimal guidance, and I felt like we had to push for every bit of information. There was no clear plan, no proactive follow-up, and no compassion during one of the most terrifying moments of our lives. By the time we realized how serious things truly were, it was too late. Our dog passed away shortly after. I can't say with certainty that the outcome would have been different, but I do know we did not receive the level of care, attention, or urgency that any pet -- or family -- deserves. Losing a pet is heartbreaking on its own. Feeling unheard and unsupported by the very people you turn to for help makes it even worse. I sincerely hope this clinic reevaluates how they handle emergency cases and how they communicate with worried pet owners, because no one should have to go through what we did. The last time I brought her there, they removed her teeth without calling me to let me know. "Oh, the teeth were receding into the gum." YOU CALL ME FIRST. Period stop. And they trimmed her claws, which they have never done before and I never do because she never uses them. She hurt for weeks from that, wondering where the tips went. Poor soul. Whippany Veterinary Hospital's repeated negligence and dismissal of all concerns delayed critical diagnoses for my senior cat, Boo Boo. They refused hypertension treatment, stating that after their "calculations," high BP readings (up to 192 mmHg) were "normal," yet wouldn't explain the calculations despite my requests. This oversight endangered him during a dental procedure by ignoring an undisclosed 192/135 mmHg BP. Common senior issues like vomiting and elevated eosinophils (indicating inflammatory bowel disease), abnormal bloodwork (high creatinine, SDMA 12/15 for stage 2 kidney disease), and lung problems (bronchitis missed on X-rays) were dismissed as normal. Rockaway Animal Hospital, a respected vet, diagnosed all on the first appointment, starting vital treatments. Whippany's repeated dismissals could have been deadly; protect your pets by avoiding them. At his first visit to the respected Rockaway Animal Hospital, Boo Boo was diagnosed with and started treatment for hypertension, inflammatory bowel disease, and kidney disease immediately--conditions Whippany could and should have treated. I am happy to say Boo Boo is doing well today and is in better health than he was under the negligent care of Whippany Vet. Their repeated negligence could have been fatal--steer clear for your pet's safety. I cannot warn against Whippany Veterinary Hospital enough. That said, if you are seeking a quality and caring veterinary practice, I cannot recommend Rockaway Animal Hospital and their excellent veterinary staff enough.

One particular experience was when my cat Winston had a urinary blockage, which is deadly in male cats. He had to be hospitalized for 3 days before we could do surgery, which was all happening very fast, and during covid which made matters extremely hard. Once my cat was stable enough to have surgery Dr. Hallihan performed it after hours and released him to us well past 11pm. After transporting him to overnight care (he was in rough shape) he stayed a night there and we had him back home. Unfortunately he got an abscess under his stitches and had no choice but to rush him to an emergency clinic. We were being told the chances of him being able to survive a 3rd surgery should this one fail were slim. I spoke to Dr. Casulli and she treated me with the utmost respect even though my animal wasn't in her care. She made calls to see how he was doing, which she didn't have to do. They truly are the best, and they truly care. We get to see them all the time now because our man winston gets to get his urine checked every 6 months! (He hates us now but that's ok.) Aside from winston the care they have given our other animals, which are all under different accounts and different names within different households and they still no matter what know which animal goes to which household Thank you to all the doctors!
