I was forced to use this business and still am through my land lord. This Konote person was rude on the phone and forgetful. Okay whatever. The day of the repair he texts asking if we "still needed him," at the time he was suppose to be at his appointment with us. I said, ugh yes you should be here! He then said he'd be there in 45 minutes...okay don't bother we'll fix it ourselves. That was a few months ago. Now our fridge is broken and we have to use the same person, but this time he told my landlord he would only come out if "I wasn't there!" Nice. These people are CROOKS! They sold me 4 appliances, none worked! They removed one of mine I did not want removed and refused to bring it back. They came to fix them but didn't get the refrigerator working. When I told them I expected a replacement or refund they acted as if they didn't know who I was and didn't have a record of the purchase. Now I have to go to small claims court. I recently called Home Appliance Repair and Service to fix our dishwasher, and I regret to say I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. I contacted them because of the high reviews on Yelp, but that was a mistake. Our dishwasher (a GE) started beeping and not moving off the rinse cycle. It would not turn on. Konate came out to take a look on a Saturday, and he opened up the front, scraping at some membrane that might make it work. He was unsuccessful. He said a part needed to be replaced (he didn't clarify which part) and he would call me on Monday to let me know the cost. When I spoke to the receptionist on Monday, she quoted me $175 for the part. The problem was that the part was "special order only" and could not be returned. I asked her what my recourse would be if it didn't work, and she said we could do nothing; we would be out the money for the part. But she assured me, quite confidently, that Konate knew what he was doing and this was most certainly the problem. I trusted her. She called back a day later to get my payment information and ask how I wanted to ship the part: standard, and it would be there in five to ten days, but second-day air would have it to us by the following week. She couldn't tell me what the up-charge would be, but I stupidly took that option. She then said the charge was now $190 (I assume tax but am not clear on that) plus shipping. The following week I called to schedule the appointment. She answered the phone and addressed me by name before I spoke (obviously caller ID) and was cheerful. Konate could come on Wednesday morning. Konate showed up on time and got to work. I was surprised to see that the part he was replacing was the panel, not the motherboard, but I figured he knew what he was doing. Surprise, surprise, but a half hour later, Konate informs me that the part I just paid around $200 for was not the problem part. I asked him what happens next, and he told me he would check his business to see if there was a spare part lying around, but I'm out my money. He then walks out, taking my old, perfectly functioning panel with him. That evening I tried calling to talk with someone about my dissatisfaction, but suddenly, they're not answering my calls. There is no voice mail. The phone just rings. My husband calls from his cell, and after a long wait, they answer. He's told that I was clearly given two options--buy the one piece or replace several components at once--when they called to quote me the price originally (a bald-faced lie) and if I had chosen the option of buying several components, we would have saved money and time. But now he's going to try to order the next piece. My husband asked if he could have the original panel back that Konate took when he installed the new one, and Konate told him that he would send it. Konate called me later to quote me another price on the next piece--$130. After thinking about this overnight, I called Konate back this morning to tell him to not order the piece; we're going in a different direction now. I also reminded him to send the original part he took. He said my husband could pick it up when he wants. I told him to just drop it off at my house. He said it wasn't fair that he go out of his way to return the part. I told him it wasn't fair that he walked off with it without asking. He just laughed and said we could come get it. I told him to mail it. He said he needed payment to mail our piece back, which he's not getting. I can only guess that he would clean it up and sell it for $200 to the next sap because he knows it works fine. But regardless, this place has lost my business, and if you can learn anything from my experience, they shouldn't get yours either. read more

We were given three options by our Electrolux extended warranty and tried HAR+S since they had great reviews on Yelp (and the other two were hovering around 1 star) Unfortunately our experience wasn't that great. Tech came and looked at the washer and told us it couldn't be repaired in our home and to call Electrolux back. After calling Electrolux they read his report and said that he didn't want to do the repair because it might get the wood floor wet. Electrolux service (like any reasonable person) said that was a terrible excuse and that the tech should have just removed the water with a wet vacuum before servicing. Now thanks to the weak attempt at fixing we have to wait for someone capable of actually fixing a washer to show up. I'm leaving two stars because the tech seemed to be friendly and courteous (in addition to being lazy about fixing appliances). read more

Our washer started working sporadically. We live in Edmonds but called Home Appliance Repair & Service to see if they would come south to us due to the consistent high reviews on Yelp. The initial phone call was obviously well informed as they asked a number of questions to assess the situation up front. When Konate arrived, he quickly assessed the situation, gave us a very fair estimate for repairs and was on his way to order the part. When he returned with the part, he spent about 90 minutes working on the machine, but then came down to report that there was more issues with our washing machine and he recommended that we simply replace it. He could have easily told us that he needed another part, and continued the job...but he gave us a good assessment and was willing to walk away from the additional money. Further, he did not charge us anything for the second visit...and refunded us for the part he had to order. I would highly recommend Konate as I felt he was very honest and fair with his work. Side note...we have a crotchety dog likes to pretend she's tough by barking at strangers. Konate was great with her. read more

He was extremely friendly and actually checked to make sure he had parts for my dryer before making the trip out here. He came the same day and again was very friendly. He charged me a fair price and had my dryer fixed within a half hour. Great customer service and fantastic business ethic. Absolutely horrible. Scheduled an apt with them. They were a no show. Called to reschedule and they said someone would call me back. No one called. I finally reached someone weeks later and he said I need to find someone else cause they have called and no one answers and the vm is full. Complete lies. If they wanted to be honest I wouldn't have minded but I know for a fact they haven't called or reached out plus how do you explain the no show. Will gladly spend money else where. read more

We called this company Friday morning for an emergency refrigerator repair. Konate (the owner) answered right away but mentioned his schedule was booked and he'd get back to us. Within 15min, he called back and had rearranged his schedule to help us. He was at our home within 1 hour. Unfortunately the fix (clean and cleared all the dust and debris from the condenser and reset the unit) he did on his first visit did not work. Konate did mention that if it didn't work, we should call back and he'd come out to recharge the Freon. He didn't want us to spend the money on the Freon recharge if it wasn't needed. We called in the afternoon to let him know fridge wasn't working so he came out that evening and did a recharge. Unfortunately the recharge didn't work either so he didn't charge for anything more than the cost of the Freon. Turns out it was either the circuit board or the condenser itself. Please keep in mind when reading this that we have a 5 year old LG. This unit made it 2 years more than LGs reputation of 3 years. NOTE TO ALL - LG products are absolute GARBAGE. Do not ever waste your money on anything LG. So we decided to buy a new fridge because our food was going bad and if course, no one could deliver on Saturday. So, Konate offered to pick up and deliver a new fridge if we could find something. We got our new fridge and all is well. I am writing this review in detail to describe the incredible service we received. I will never use nor recommend anyone other than Home Appliance Repair & Service for our repairs. They are simply awesome!!! read more

What a relief to find a repair shop nearby with technicians trained and experienced in european appliances - top quality service, like a good BMW mechanic. When my Liebherr refrigerator stopped cooling I called the manufacturer to find a factory trained repairman - european appliances are great, but they're not the same as US/Asian and you don't want to pay a repair guy to learn on your machine. They recommended Home Appliance Repair, and sure enough the service was fast, smart, and boy do they know about european appliances. I knew i was in good hands when the office dispatcher knew about my model already, and was able to quickly gather symptoms and verify deductions i'd already made: time to bring in an expert. The technician arrived on time when he said he would (imagine that!), calling courteously in advance and then getting quickly through test procedures and trouble codes to check condition on each component, all the while talking to factory support via his headset. (Modern appliances, especially european ones, are like your computer in that they can vary a lot internally even within one model in both hardware and software version, so it takes plugging into a factory database to determine exactly which part your unit has and therefore how to test it.) In minutes he verified that each of the more expensive components (compressor, etc) were OK, and that a certain electrical part had failed. Within minutes he had a replacement part located (in a factory warehouse) and ready for expedited ship. if that sounds like delayed gratification, let me tell you for unusual european appliances they made it amazingly smooth. The overall experience was like a really good BMW mechanic - I'm adding these guys to my book for future service calls. Called to have our Garbage Disposal replaced. Told them on the phone it was leaking. He was late to appointment After he took old one out he said he needed to get new pipes ours did not fit the replacement disposal. I thought it was odd, I went to look and the Disposal he was going to install it had Rust around the top! I asked if this was what he was installing? He said yes it was fine 3 x the sixe of the one we had a 1500. He pulled out of home in Mercer Island. What? We did not know we were getting a USED replacement. He said he would have to order one and it would take 3 weeks to get a new one. We said can you run to Lowes? 5 blocks away. He said yes but he didn't have time he had other appointments. We said please leave we will call someone else. We felt it as a total SCAM he was going to install a used unit without even asking or telling us. Why would he NOT bring a new unit. read more

I contacted Home Appliance repair after two different handymen/repair companies cancelled on me three days in a row to repair my dishwasher which is not draining. The whole thing has really been a farce. One handyman was doing this on the side and cancelled twice because he was just too busy and the repair company called me to cancelled because their work van caught on fire! You can't make this stuff up! Anyway, it was Tuesday 12/5. I spoke with the repair man, explained that my dishwasher was not draining and that I was expecting out of town guests later in the week and would be hosting a very large holiday party. We set the appointment for 11:00 am "tomorrow" 12/6. He said very specifically he would call approximately 20 minutes before, when he was on his way. At 11:15 am on Wednesday I called to inquire if I had written the time down wrong. He said the appointment was for Thursday. I know this to be untrue because my best friend is flying in on Thursday at 9:30 am so I would not make an appointment for that time and because he repeatedly said "tomorrow" not the day or date when we made the appointment. The 'gentleman' began to argue that he told me Thursday and that he would come on Thursday - which I said would not work, I could not be here and never would have made an appointment then knowing full well I have to be at SeaTac. He said he would not work with me now anyway, which I did reply to say that I wouldn't wish to work with him anyway. That he was obviously unreliable and dishonest. It is fine to make a mistake - just acknowledge it and rectify it. I hang up to start calling more repair companies. Home Appliance Repair Service CALLED ME BACK. The man asked if I had just called him a liar. Which I said, "yes, you did lie. You did not make an appointment for Thursday - you said tomorrow" and which he went off and then his daughter got on the phone and went off. She went on to say, "this is why those other people cancelled on you" and "don't ever call this number again." Which I could only respond by saying, "You guys called me!" I don't know how this company stays in business reading the other no-shows and poor service people have reported here on Yelp. I was just desperate and it sounded like when they did show up, the repairs were good... The one technician from the company whose van caught fire will be coming out later today, even if it is after hours for no additional charge as they felt so bad for having to cancel in the first place. Wow. I love this place. I called another repairman who said he didn't work on my washing machine. He sent me to Judd and Black who said they are only repairing machines purchased from them right now and gave me Home Appliance Repair's number. My luck had finally changed!! I called on Monday afternoon, they could come look at my washing machine Tuesday, my day off!! I got a call before Konate arrive. He checked out my machine, let me know that it would cost more to repair than replace, I really appreciated the honesty! I live close to his shop, his service call was MORE than reasonably priced, so I decided to check out his appliance store to see if anything he had met my needs. I found a washer, Konate's beautiful daughter was running the shop while he was out on more service calls. She called him, he agreed to deliver my new washing machine today, SAME DAY!! Yes, SAME DAY. I say it again because it was life altering!! He even hauled away our broken one. Super quick, affordable, knowledgeable, dependable service, what more can you ask for? Need a repair? I had done business with Konate about a year ago and was very happy with the service and price to provide a refrigerator on one of my rental properties. Service was prompt, fair and professional. A year later, I called them about 10 days ago talked with Theresa and set up an appointment for Konate to go to another rental property for a refrigerator to be fixed or replaced. Konate never showed up. I called back again and setup another appointment and this time Theresa said they have gone to the property and no one was there. When I checked back with my tenant, she said she had been there all day waiting and no one had shown up, again. So, I call and setup an appointment the 3rd time, making sure they have the correct address and contact phone number for me and the tenant. Appointment between 5-6pm. Well, Konate doesn't show up again. I call him back and he says he's not going to go to an appointment unless he talked directly with someone who accepts the payment responsibility. When I ask him why him or anyone called me to say this in the beginning, he had excuse that Theresa had not told him anything about the appointment. I was not happy with the service and will not do business with Konate anymore. He had excuse of having changed locations and computer systems and not having my information from before, which is nonsense and just an excuse. I had provided all my information to Theresa at the time of making the appointment the first time. Konate was very unprofessional on the phone and said he doesn't care what comment I will put on Yelp. I am very sorry to see a service boniness deteriorate like this and lose customers. read more

No frills, but got the job done. Called late on a Saturday afternoon, expecting to just be leaving a message, but someone answered and got a technician out to the house on Sunday. So far I'm impressed. Problem was identified, but parts would need to be ordered which ended up taking about 5 days. Overall pricing was fair, considering spare parts are always more expensive than they should be. If I had to complain about something, it was the $75 trip charge for the initial visit that wasn't ever disclosed until he tried to collect at the end of the diagnosis. Trip charges always bug me. I can understand the fee should I choose to not use your services, but when I want you to proceed with a few hundred bucks worth of repairs, how about waiving that? read more

The man who answered took all of my information, address, phone number, appliance model and serial number. He then said he was with a customer and would call me back as soon as possible. The reason for my call was because my refrigerator quit working. Meaning food was going to spoil. I wait patiently all day. At 5pm I realized he wasn't going to call back. I understand service techs get busy at times and work all hours of the day. I also know he is a minority small business owner. Which I always try to support. I am white but gay. Obviously gay. Which has made life difficult at times. Especially as a youth. Therefore, I can sympathise with minorities and their struggles daily. However, with food spoiling I had to take action. I was able to assess the problem and order the new control module on my own. The module was delivered by FedEx the next morning and installed in less than 10 minutes. Literally a plug and play component. My call was placed on June 7th. It's the 17th and still no call. Unfortunately for this business owner, I have noted not to call this company for my future service needs. read more

Called them to fix my leaking ULINE ice maker. They confirmed being able to get the part they might need and confirmed the cost of the part before confirming the appt. They gave me the choice of two different days and showed up exactly when they said they would. It turned out I didn't need the part so I wasn't charged for it. The service man was very professional (took off his shoes) and did a thorough job in checking to make sure he'd addressed the leak. Based on this experience, I'd use them again. read more

I'm out over $200 working with this company to get my fridge fixed. They have replaced 2 parts and it still isn't working. This morning I called them to tell them it still wasn't working after they were out here again last night. The repair man started to argue with me that it should be working and what can I say ... all I know is that there is no cold air. They were going to call me back with a time as to when they could repair the fridge today as soon as they checked their schedule. Waited over an hour an a half but no phone call back. Save yourself grief - do not call this company. My first appointment with them, the owner/service manager was hours late. He was unable to make the repair at the time, and made suggestions that I could do to make it work. I followed his advise and the fridge worked for about two months. I called back and they said they would order parts but it would take 4-6 weeks to come in. I had to call them and find the parts had actually come in as they did not call me. An appointment was made, and they were a no show. When I called they said they could make it later in the afternoon which did not work with my schedule. When I called and complained - they told me they were not willing to work on my fridge because I was just going to complain about them anyway. So here it is. read more

You have GOT to be kidding me! This man, Konate Mamadou is not only a liar in front of a judge, but scams people as much as possible. I had to file a lawsuit against him for selling me a defective dryer and taking my money. I called him numerous times to rectify the situation. He agreed to return my money and pick up the dryer, but never would. I called on at least 7 different occasions and he would not return my calls. He even went as far to hit random numbers on his voice mail as I was trying to leave messages and call his OWN daughter as a witness to something that never occurred. What man would present his own child this way?. The judge ruled in my favor. He must return the $247 before he can pick up his 7 year old defective dryer. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO business with this man or his company. Not only that, but he is not licensed in the state of Washington to do business. read more

Avoid like the plague. We used him to repair a freezer when Sears and Lowes said it would be a week before they could get here. Konate came out that morning. After diagnosing the problem he promptly put screw into the refrigerant line rendering the freezer useless. He came back the next day to "fix" it. On top of patching the hole in the refrigerant line, he cut he line in the back of the freezer to add a valve so he could add new Freon. A week later the freezer stopped working so Konate came back out to repair the valve he put in, and add more Freon. A week later the freezer started getting flat out hot. When we called him again, we was convieniently on vacation for a week. When he finally came back, he had to take the freezer to his shop to figure out what was going on. Now he tells us not only did thermostat and defroster heater go bad (which he tested in front of us at the start), but a control module also went bad. To give you an idea about Konate's credibility, it turns out he has been operating without a state master business license, he has illegally avoided paying the sales tax he collected from other customers, he has not paid B&O tax that every other business has to pay. He has also not paid L&I insurance or unemployment insurance for his employee. He knew he was supposed to have that license but let it lapse in 2013. read more
