My husband was the one who interacted with Ron who he said was a man of few words but very knowledgeable and got straight to the problem, was familiar with our type of dryer (samsung) and was able to fix our fridge the same day as well. Seeing all the negative reviews made me weary but he was just fine, wore a mask, even talked through what and why he was doing things while my husband was there. All in all, don't judge a book by their cover. Some people just aren't super outgoing but he knew what he was doing and from what it sounded like he was pleasant to talk to. Ron was the contractor sent by Fidelity Home Warranty to fix a problem with my dishwasher, which is a relatively new but rare model. Like many others, I was apprehensive when I saw his previous Yelp reviews. Long story short, while it's true he isn't super friendly nor customer-service oriented (hence the one star deduction), he did a fine job troubleshooting the issue, getting the correct part ordered, and completing the repair in a timely manner. Sent to us by Fidelity for our leaky freezer. Super unfriendly and didn't interact that much. Looked around in our freezer to see where the leak was coming from. Then he said that we needed a new ice-maker machine replacement which he keeps in his van. He replaced it, and after a couple of days later our freezer was still leaking. We are not going to call him back because he didn't seem to know what he was doing; didn't even look under the fridge and we don't like to deal with rude people anyway. I'd rather call someone else who really knows what they are doing, and willing to explain why the problem is happening with our appliance. My fridge broke. And when I say it broke I mean that it stopped working completely and water started to pour out of the freezer like God had decreed that my kitchen was evil and no longer fit to have a place on this earth so he was calling down 30 days of rain without the benefit of an ark kind of broke. I called about eight different appliance repair places and NO ONE could come out that day. Osborne's could make it out the following day but that meant that EVERYTHING in my fridge was ruined. About two hours later Osborne's called me and said their technician didn't work that Friday and wanted to reschedule for Saturday. Fine, I got nothing to lose at this point. Plus, I don't have to take a day off from work. The technician came right on time and was super friendly and fast. He told me how much the fix would be and didn't deviate from the amount. He told me that he could replace my ice machine, but said I would be better off saving up for a new fridge. So... five stars for friendly service without gouging me on the price, -2 star for making me wait two days to get it fixed, and +1 star for scheduling appointments at night and on the weekend. read more

When I saw these reviews, I was a bit nervous to see who Fidelity Home Warranty had dispatched for our dishwasher repair. However, I had a great experience. He came out exactly on time, and very obviously knew what he was doing. Horrible customer experience. As you can see I generally only leave positive reviews. But Ron Rice - the owner and technician - should not own a business or deal with customers. He twice scheduled a time and never showed. Both times required me to take time off work. When I expressed how upset I was for not respecting my time and money he lit up my text messages with the following: "Fine I will call and refer it out to another company. You're the one who could make a day time appointment." I said I would contact my warrantee company to file a complaint and add a yelp review and he responded with: "I don't care what you do I have more customers then I have time for I get calls every day from people begging me to do their work. Around the largest appliance repair company in Seattle for 15 years. I have trained dozens of technicians. Good luck with your next company hopefully they'll know what they're doing. on top of that yelp is a joke. the only post bad reviews and then extort companies to pay to have them fixed. As far as the warranty company goes. they fired all the other vendors in the Seattle area and beg me to take over. Ron has been great to work with while trying to diagnose and repair our dishwasher. He has been out to our home twice now: both times he arrived within the window he set, and called when he was 15 minutes out so we knew when to expect him. He addressed not only the initial problem we noticed, but other issues that we didn't realize could cause a problem down the line. He has turned his reports back in to Fidelity Home Warranty quickly. Used Osborne Appliance through Fidelity Insurance Issue: Icemaker - leaking water Called Ron, and setup an appointment. He was 30 min late. I called him at 20 min, he told me he is on his way. He spent 30 min, took the icemaker out. Told me that he had to order a part and will contact me when the part arrives. The following week he did that. He was a little early (which was great), and was done in 10 min. The only suggestion for improvement I would add is that, they give a call/text when they are on their way. read more

This guy is a fraud. He was sent to us by Fidelity Home Warranty company to fix leaking dishwasher. He looked at it, and said that he needs to get replacement parts. Then he disappeared, hasn't even left his phone number. About a week later, with dishwasher still leaking, I became concerned, called Fidelity Home Warranty which gave me the contact info for his company. I called... and the message told me that they are closed and won't open for another 2 weeks! Now, to add the injury to insult, before disappearing, this guy has sent a bogus report to the insurance company, claiming that dishwasher is missing parts! Now I have to go through mountains of paperwork, to dispute the bogus claim, because missing parts are not covered by warranty. In fact, dishwasher has all the parts, it's working and has been working all along, the leak, as it was determined by another technician, was due to a leaking gasket. read more

How this person is still in business I will never know Ron, was hired to install a dishwasher for my Parents - they are up in years though still very functional. the dishwasher had been re removed prior to Ron's arrival. the house is about 50 years old and so the previous install was a bit different than a standard R&R. I just happened to stop by their house when Ron was trying to figure out how to install it. he told my mom she needed to get a plumber and move the drain and water feed. she was somewhat upset and seem that he did not know what to do because he had to think of a way to make the changes. My Dad took him down stairs and showed him the connections were easily accessible from there. And they Declared they had a solution. as I was interested in what they had found I asked Ron what they were planning on. In a tone dripping with condescending snarky-ness. "I am going to install the dishwasher and it will work, Is that what you want know" I told him I did not appreciate the snarky tone and ask what the install solution was and then proceeded to talk down to me in the same tone about each little step and followed it up with is that good enough? he then said I have to go get a part. he got in his truck and left..... never to return no call or anything.... By far the most frustrating experience I have ever had with an appliance repair. Contracted through Fidelity Home warranty.... initial contact early June... "repaired" by the first of July... broken again on the 4th of July.... "repaired again"by the first of August. Broken again the following day. After months of missed appointments, false promises and overall inadequate service I gave up and requested a new provider who came in, immediately recognized the problem and we moved forward. I do not recommend you use this company unless you have months to wait for a resolution. I have forwarded my complaints to Fidelity Home Warranty and would encourage others to do the same. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The reviews are true, the WORST company! Ron completely forgot our appointment the first time. So, we rescheduled for a week later at 10am. At 10:30 I called (no answer) and texted him to remind him of our appointment and be sure he was coming. I thought my simple confirmation inquiry was the reason he was such a jerk when he showed up. Now after reading the other reviews, I know its because he is just another A-Hole walking around the earth hating people for existing! He didn't say hi when he walked up, wouldn't look me in the eye, walked straight into my kitchen and said, "What is it?" I showed him the problem and in the middle of my sentence he said that my dishwasher needed some part. He didn't have the part and said he would have to come back. Didn't say when or how long it would take, only that he would be back. In fact the only thing he was really clear on was that I had to write a check to him personally for the service call. Needless to say he never showed back up that day. SHOCKER! I had to call him and find out that he wasn't coming. SO, we scheduled his return at 3pm the next day. While I am out running errands like a normal person, he calls an hour early and asks why I am not home!!!! I rush home to meet him by 3pm as planned, and then he is 1 hour late!! Worst service ever! I replaced a list bulb in our refrigerator and apparently did not tighten it enough. Ron Rice from Osborne Appliance repair walked in discovered and tightened the bulb and charged $100 In and out in 5 minutes. Was skeptical after reading other reviews but LG only provided me with 2 phone numbers for service providers in my area and the other couldn't get to me for weeks. Ron showed up, diagnosed problem right away, quoted me a fair price, explained the whole process to me while he repaired & that was that! I have a working washer/dryer combo again in less than a 30 minute visit! I am happy with this service. Ron seems extremely busy and that may have led to the other not so great reviews of returning calls or missing appointments. I will definitely call him again if needed. read more

He was 30 minutes late for our first appointment. Ron misdiagnosed the issue with our washer after waiting a week for the wrong part. Then said he would get back to us when the new part was in. 2 weeks past and no word from Ron. He would not answer our calls and does not have voice mail! Washing machine never got fixed and had to take the cash out option through our home warranty company. Wasted almost a month of our time!!! Horrible!! We just purchased our home and after a few weeks of doing laundry noticed a real bad noise coming from the washing machine. Ron was dispatched by Fidelity National Home Warranty and on the phone, was not pleasant. He was short in his tone, very hard to hear, and sounded like a very unhappy person. He came out to our home, looked at the dishwasher (which we'd also made a claim on), showed me exactly what the problem was, gave me the part number I'd need to fix it, and moved on to the washer. I was then of the mindset that I'd misjudged him. Upon looking at the washer, his comment was "yup, time for a new one". He explained to me what was wrong and that it was going to be so expensive to fix that they would likely just opt to replace it with a new one. What he didn't mention, even once, was that he was going to write it up as a pre-existing condition...that they WILL NOT cover. This man is only out for himself and to save the warranty company money. He does not give two rips about the people he's hired to "help". A few weeks after he was here I then received a bill from the warranty company saying I still owed the service fee that I'd paid him when he was here! I had my receipt, as well as the charge on my bank statement fortunately because he had not passed on the payment to the warranty people so they were trying to double collect! I would not recommend this company or Fidelity National to ANYONE and he will NOT be allowed back in our home for any "repairs". read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before Ron came out to my house. After several attempts to get ahold of him, he finally called me back to schedule an appointment. After he came to diagnose the problem, he said he would get back to me when the part came in. He did no such thing, and after several more attempts to contact him, he finally came back to fix our washer, in doing so, he fixed it and broke another piece n the washing machine door and now has not called me back......again. Completely unprofessional and rude. I made a quality assurance report with the home warranty company and I am by far not done outing this man/companies horrible way of conducting business. Osborne's own a "Mr. Appliance Repair" franchise, so they got my phone call from the generic "if you're in Seattle" phone number off the mrappliancerepair.com website. called at noon on 8/14 - scheduled for monday 8/17, 9 am - shows up determines it's a bad part, orders part, be back on 8/19 1-3 pm to install had to call 8/19 3 pm to find out where repair-person is - shows up in 20 mins. oops, wrong/missing another part, will take 3-4 days to receive from MI - *they will call me after they get part to reschedule" had to call 8/25 at 5:05 pm to ask where the part/repair-person is had to call again 8/26 noon to find out if they got my message re: part/repair person schedule they're booked til 8/31 1-3 pm - fine, whatever - thanks for the prompt return because you ordered the wrong part the first time 8/29 3 pm, someone actually calls to "confirm appt. Monday 2-4 pm" so that's different from the first scheduled time but induhvidual calling just says "that's what's on the paper" 8/31 2 pm - guys shows up and installs all the parts this time, been working since then but sheesh - never again and I'm voting on "Pricey" on the Price Range category because of all the aggravation read more

I called Osborne Appliance to repair my dishwasher. Ron Rice showed up and charged me nearly $500 to replace some hoses which turned out to be NOT the problem. I called back to have him come out again and waited and waited for a response from him. Then he just shows up at my door a week later and charges me almost one hundred dollars for something else that was NOT the problem. I have called to leave messages and talked to the answering service to complain. The young women who answer the phones are nice but all you can do is leave a message. Try calling them sometime. Our oven control panel stopped working and I called Osborne since I had a good experience with them several years ago when we had a dryer problem. We set a time for them to come out and they were pretty close on time. He ordered the part and said it would be about a week. I called less than a week later and it had just arrived. He came by the next day and installed it, no problems. I would use this company again. So much better than large store repair centers. I have a 30 year old Dacor and the bake element was burned out. I'd already contacted several other appliance parts businesses, in hopes of finding a part for the stove and someone who could fix my stove. No one called me back.....and everyone had a comment about the fact that my stove was so old that parts no longer were available. Ron Rice at Osborne's Appliance was recommended by a contractor as someone who could repair older appliances. I called over the holidays. Mr. Rice's quick visit to make sure that I'd really ID'd the problem was $75...actually less than what I'm usually charged for someone to stop by. A week later, he returned, having located the part, and for another $75, I now have a working oven again. I am VERY pleased....the alternative was a new stove, which would be very expensive, considering the new laws about exhaust AND the fact that my stove is an unusual size. read more

Bought an LG washing machine that didn't work right. Called LG and they sent out Osborne appliance to make repairs under warranty. They reported there were no problems and sent us a bill for the visit. We wrote back and said they needed to submit the claim to LG and they were responsible to pay. A year later we got a letter from a collection agency for the bill. Called LG. They said they were never billed. We had never had another letter or call since to let us know. Now we were stuck with a bill that they never submitted to the warranty company and we had to pay it to keep our credit from being ruined. WOULD NEVER WORK WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!. (P.S. we have never had a problem with any other bills and have excellent credit, so take a guess on who was the problem) read more

Zero stars...beware. Don't use them! They came out of fix my Wine Cellar cooling unit. First they didn't show for the appointment after taking the day off work to meet them. They showed the second time and removed the cooling unit to repair it at their shop never to be seen again. They basically stole the wine cooler.
