My electric range stopped working after a rain storm due to a power surge…read more They came out and quoted me a price of $525 to replace a computer board a week later it was replaced Less than 90 days later the same thing happened Again they came out and turned the circuit breaker on and off three times and it worked They again charged me a service call My wife paid the bill When I called asking about needing the circuit board replacement they said it tested bad I won't use them again Also on the two visits I had one invoice from one company and a second one from another company And it was the same repair guy

My refrigerator's ice maker stopped working so I looked up repairmen on YELP and came across G & I…read moreAppliances Repairs. Gilbert responded very quickly to my request and scheduled an appointment that week. He showed up as scheduled and replaced my ice maker. Unfortunately the replacement ice maker also did not work after the repair was completed and after I had paid in full for the service. Gilbert let me know that he would come out sometime in the following week to check on his replacement. During the course of his second visit to repair my ice maker, my refrigerator lost all function in the course of his repairs/diagnostics. He explained to me why he believed the root cause was a manufacturing defect but took no responsibility for the total loss of function of my refrigerator while it was in his hands. I have now paid for an ice maker repair that never happened as well as had to purchase a new refrigerator to replace my dead unit. Gilbert is a nice guy and should be trusted with simple repair tasks. I would be cautious in hiring him for anything perceived to be difficult. I would not recommend going with G & I Appliances Repairs based on my personal experience.

Do not hire this contractor if you value your time, money, or sanity…read more The work quality itself seemed fine, but that's where the good news ends. We had a signed contract for $3,300 in labor to complete a full bathroom remodel in two weeks, with a $50/day penalty for delays and clear availability windows (no Sundays). Before the ink was even dry, he demanded the first payment of $1,100 -- directly contradicting the payment schedule we both signed. His excuse was that he was tired and hadn't read the contract. He then threatened to walk if I didn't pay immediately, so I did. Work progressed okay until it came time to tile. His sub was unavailable for several days with no updates. When he finally got back to me, he said his tile guy could come Saturday and finish Sunday -- a day I explicitly excluded in our contract. After I pointed that out: complete silence. No response to calls or texts. He simply vanished, leaving me with a half-finished bathroom and $1,100 out of pocket, with no explanation of what that payment actually covered. He decided on his own what portion of the work justified that payment and walked away without a word. This is not someone who honors agreements. If you're considering hiring him, make sure you're okay with the possibility of being left with an unfinished job and no recourse.
